I've read that if you are a zombie, you can make your pets blood red. Is this true? If it is, how is it done?

No its not true.

It doesn't matter if you're a zombie or not. To turn your pet bloodred you need a bloodred potion.

You don't have to be a zombie for that. All you need is a or one of the Bloodred Elixirs ;)
