If we did not have a gold account before this gifted week, do we receive the trophy that comes with a gold account? If so, is there something that must be done to activate it?

I'm not 100% sure, but I suppose that you get the trophy by activating a GA medal. Because you did not activate a medal for your GA, there was no trophy.
