Okay, I'm pinging both of you because I'm attempting to make 4 HA's and then post them at the same time in one post for a Backers contest. For whatever reason, the first attempt failed. I used this format that someone else gave to me:

Why would this not work? I'm going to open the HA pic in another window and copy and paste the url again and see if it works, if it doesn't, then hopefully the two of you (or someone else who can be equally helpful) will be able to tell me what I'm doing wrong.

The code works, you just need to use the direct URL of the image.

Does this mean that I have to have the pictures available to the public? Or does that even matter? I'm viewing my pictures from flickr in my "photostream" and that's where I copied the url from. Do I have to view it as a guest in order to get the correct url?

@/Zyrabella Hm. I'm not sure. There should be a list of options/codes you can use to share your image. Try looking for the one that says "direct URL."

Edit: It looks like Flickr doesn't provide direct URLs for their images. I'd suggest right clicking and copying "the image URL" and use that. If not, you might have to use another image hosting website.

Where is this list of options or codes?

Hey there. Remember me? :) I'm trying to use that code you gave me, and for some weird reason, it's not working. says I should find the "direct url". Well, I'm using flickr and when I'm in my photostream I can right click on it and copy the link location and that's what I tried to use in my first attempt, which of course failed. For whatever reason. I'm wondering if I have to be viewing the pictures as a guest on flickr in order to copy the correct url. Any assistance will be greatly appreciated! :)

I don't use Flickr, but this should be helpful: http://www.flickr.com/help/sharing/.

To add on to what you pinged to Anasazi: you want the URL of the image, not the URL the image is linking to.

Yes thank you. Looks like I might be able to get the correct coding through that link. I'm not that savvy when it comes to html coding. It's a lot like trying to understand a foreign language. shrugs :) Thanks again!

Looks like I'm still having issues. I feel like I'm going in circles and it's driving me crazy. The main problem is, I don't know where else I'm supposed to go on flickr where I can view the stupid pics and get the effing url. When I'm in the photostream, I can right click and open it up in another window, and that's where I have already tried to copy the url and it doesn't work when I try posting it. Where else can I view the pictures to get the right url? Obviously I"m missing something and I'm at my wits end. I will deal with this tomorrow and hopefully then it will make sense.

Thanks for putting up with me.

I just made a flickr to figure out where to get the link. Click on the image, right click and click to view the original. Right click the image on that page and "Copy image url". That is the link you need.

When I right click, what option am I going to? There are 3 options to open the image and then there's a bookmark option, save link as, copy link location (which I tried already and failed), and Inspect Element.

What browser are you using? There should be an option to copy the image URL there but honestly I only use Chrome and I don't really know about other browsers.

I'm using Mozilla Firefox. I could try Internet Explorer, but I haven't bothered with it in the last year because Subeta runs better on Mozilla Firefox.

When I used Internet Explorer and went into the photostream and right clicked, I went to "view source" and then this other window popped up that was titled with my flickr website page and across from it, it said "original source". But the window is HUGE and it has a lot of tiny text in it with a lot of html coding.

Hmn. Will the HTML coding fit into a forum post?
