I'm bawling my eyes out because my male hamster, Austin, has passed away very suddenly. I figured he has been dead for at least a day. I cant stop crying. I loved him so much. He loved his treats and he also loved my female hamster, Missy. I hope that Austin is resting in heaven and is playing with my other deceased hamsters.

My mom told me to wait before I get another male, in case Missy is pregnant and has a litter and I would get first pick. I hope he passed his legacy on.

Absolutely. I've had a ferret, gerbil, guinea pig, ducks, rabbits . . . it's always sad when they die.

Aw gosh, I'm so sorry. They're both adorable. I had a black hamster named Kevin; he was awesome. He'd sit on top of my pit's head all the time. Sadly, he passed away about four years after we got him. I hope you get some cute little fur babies from Missy. ❤️

I'll bet he's in heaven with my cat, Zena. Zena loved little furry creatures. She was so gentle with them. They'd make good buddies. hugs

I am so sorry about your loss, I know how horrible it can be. But know you gave him a good life with you, giving him treats and letting him play and not stuck in a store or a shelter looking for a hope. Thank you for taking such good care of him.

Aw! I lost my hamster Smudgie almost two years ago, and I don't think I ever cried so hard in my life. :( It still makes me really sad sometimes. Yeah they're "just hamsters" and Smudgie probably didn't care a whole lot about me besides when I gave her food and let her burrow in my shirt, but it's amazing how much you can love something you take care of!

I wish he didn't go so soon. I think he got sick because his bum was matted with blood. I hope he didn't suffer. I cried for an hour.

That is so good to hear (I work for an animal shelter so I really do love hearing things like that) Sadly things do happen and our pets pass away but you gave him the best life possible!

I work in a pet store and we get attached to our animals. I remember when we sold a Conure I got attached to, I was trying not to cry at the cash. My boss said " A pet store is like an animal shelter, you have to think they'll have a good life and will be loved".

Exactly, it's all you can hope for you and help up to that standard!

Pets are much more reliable then people, and so it hurts so much to lose one. (((hugz/)))

I'm feeling better now. Austin is beside his cousin in my parents freezer. They will be buried in the spring.
