so I've made CWs before but I haven't made shoes and I really wanna so I tried it and now I kinda regret it 'cause I'm stuck.

but some of you guys are old pros and I'd be grateful if you could tell me how to further subeta-style-afy these boots.

i know there's something I need to do to make it more the subeta style, but I can't figure out what it is 'n I've already messed around a lot with shading and thickness/thinness of lineart.

Tell me what i'm missing?

note: there are excess pixels on the sides of the shoes that are supposed to represent sticking-out laces, they're not misplaced or accidental.

Help me out ? any feedback or interest when these are done?

edit: i think i finally finished these maybe. i feel like they're gonna get shot down for some reason but since i don't know what as of yet, im gonna roll with it.

Those don't look too bad as is actually. Perhaps a couple of places could use slightly darker shading and perhaps a slight kick up on highlight on the tip of the boot, but otherwise, they look pretty good! Don't get yourself down so much on it, they're very good actually, be proud. But I agree, shoes are a pain. lol.

Sometimes taking a break and looking at it later with fresh eyes (and clear mind) does help for sure. And no problemo! Glad to be of assistance. C:

Fashionably late seeing this thread but wow those boots. o_o I want. Like OddDuckOasis said, the shading and highlights could be a bit more defined but they really do look great so far!

If you're taking an interest list, I'd like to be on it please!

[edit] On the Subeta-size version in the front post though, the right side of the image (the avatar's left foot) has some fading lineart on the top of the boot where it's folded down.

ive made a lot of changes since that first post so hopefully s'not an issue anymore. ...if it is though, how would you suggest i fix it? thicken the lineart or lighten the color inside it?

Hm, thickening the lineart might be the best course of action. It's not an issue with the color, I don't think, as much as it is that the lineart on that one specific portion seems too thin, and thus the color appears to be bleeding out, making it look a little bit blurry.

by the way, do you know anyone i could comission item art from?

I know did a CI for me for a wig I had made, but aside from that I'm not sure of any specific people that do them. You could always look around the CW commissions section or the art requests forum and see if anyone there is willing to give it a shot!
