Long forum signatures are now contained in a scrollable area (max 200px tall) instead of taking over the whole post. If someone has a signature that's taller than that, you can scroll within it to see the rest. Excessively tall signatures (over 600px) won't render at all!
This is a solution to the (imo very silly!) rule of warning people who have signatures a little too large. It removes. a common sense of frustration that folks feel with the forums and just getting started, and gives way more space overall.
I'll be adding a space to "edit signature" in the Kumos forums soon!
please tell me this means I can finally get the 10-year-old warning removed from my account for putting an image that read as <600px in the preview but was apparently too tall? I've been too afraid to even put the tree widget in there for as long as we've had it because it looks too big and I didn't want my account frozen 😭
All this to say, thank you so, so, so much for this and the non-rendering thing to keep people from getting permanent infractions for honest mistakes.

warnings can be removed after 2 years. unless this one is different. please make a ticket they will remove it
ngl last time I sent a ticket about it, the response said it should be removed, then my ticket was closed and it's still showing up as an infraction? I'm pretty sure there was some sort of miscommunication somewhere between myself and the two(?) staff/mods I was talking with but I asked specifically about the 10yo one and it's still there despite them agreeing it shouldn't be.
This was like a year ago though, I'll try again and see if I can actually get them removed this time.

this is fabulous news! My only warning in my 11 years here was for an oversized forum image or signature (can't remember which), and I've been afraid to add an image to my signature ever since, even though I've seen other users with huge signatures. I definitely agree that it's silly someone could potentially get banned from the site because of signature size warnings!
