Visiting gardens helps plants grow a lot more

🔍 Improvement: a well-visited garden can now grow its plants up to 50% faster in a day. Every visitor shaves a little off your plants' remaining grow time, and the daily limit on that help is much higher than it used to be, so opening your garden and drawing visitors really helps your plants grow.

🔍 Improvement: the visit boost now builds up over the day instead of landing all at once. A rush of visitors first thing used to spend the whole day's boost in one moment, so now it unlocks gradually through the day and a steady stream of visitors adds up to the most growth.

Why is visit boost tied to a time at all? The majority of players is online at certain hours, not gradually through the day. So there will never be a steady stream of visitors but always rushes and trickles. As there is no official feedback thread I'm dumping some things here:

  • the visitor could get a (small) amount of XP for visiting, making it less one-sided and more like event actions where both sides gain something from it.
  • it would be great if I could see if I had visited a garden already? As far as I understand a boost is only given on your first visit.
  • it would be great if the name of the plant was shown on the plot again
  • It feels like a missed opportunity to not include all those gardening themed items. So I have a never-emptying watering can, that's great. But I could use soil or fertilizer or a shovel or any of the other gardening themed items and receive another (small) boost for my plants? So these items would have a proper use
  • please implement different types of the garden representation link (the one you can put in your forum signature, not sure what the proper English is for that, sorry). People put it everywhere and the Friends Online widget is exploding as people even put it in their status. So for those areas it could be more like an event action, just one line with the link to the garden. In others it can be the full display

I'm sure I will think of more as soon as I hit send :D Thanks for this revamp, I always liked gardening but it was a bit dull. It's a bit sad that previous "experience" is not included but I understand it would make things much more complicated (if that data was even stored).

To clarify: to see if I had visited a garden already means right from the event link, not just in the list of visitors of that garden. E.g. the background could turn light green or something like that.

I had also thought that tending other gardens could raise the visitors' gardening XP - or that experienced gardeners could boost the plants more than beginners? Is that carrying to far?

However, since only the first people coming to the gardens help boost, that could be problematic in that the later visitors don't stand a chance at finding gardens still in need and earning their XP....

I like the idea of being able to add tools and boosters to the garden in order to enhance growth. Plus it would give meaning to those items.

I also favour the idea of a one liner to link to gardens (like kissing, flowering, etc.)

I just woke up and returned the thirteen visits I'd gotten since midnight... eleven of those "have had all the growth a visit can give for now." I wish there was a way to know whose gardens actually need visiting from the Visitor Log and Hub pages, so that I don't go through the effort of visiting all those gardens for nothing; however, I'm not sure how that could be implemented. Unless maybe it could be noted on the garden's info card thing (that shows with the garden representation link and on our hover cards), and then that info card could show if we hover over the names in our Visitor Log?
