The hover to wishlist functionality has been updated to be more accessible and navigable by keyboard. It now is a little ❤️ that pops up when you hover - let me know if you don't like it!
Scrolling through my inventory, I feel like the lower left and right corners end up being unutilized on a lot of item art. Does it look any good moved to one of the corners? Though centered is probably less troublesome for mobile users.... idk 🤔
will the blue border will be visible also in shops? i always wanted to see if something in my wishlist was in the normal shops.
I second this, especially since I use my wishlist as a lazy way to know what items i already own and the hover feature isnt exactly the best on mobile for some pages ^^;
I want to like this, but don't. The heart covers too much of the item image and when your cursor is over the heart, the item preview doesn't show, which is what I'm hovering over most items to see. The text wishlist at least sat in a straight line at the very bottom of the item art and didn't obscur the art or interfere with hovering for the item preview or clicking on the item. And intuitively, the heart reads like "favorite" which doesn't really say "wishlist" to me.
I just checked Esther's shop where I have some items wishlisted for achievement tracking, and the blue border still shows up on those items! not sure about normal/restocking shops, though
hey im going to be so real with you king, i hate this on mobile and have issues with it all the time, particularly on the shop search page. its hard to get it to work, tapping it usually just toggles the heart up and down, and when i long press to see the jtem preview pop up, it almost never shows up anymore. i think, at minimum, putting it in the lower right corner would be an improvement, but i agree with some other concerns that it takes up too much of the image space which is especially detrimental to me on mobile. previously i would essentially "click" the top or bottom lines of the image in order to wishlist it or get the pop up to show and i was quite effective at using it, i rarely misclicked tbqh
I looked at this on mobile, but I guess not close enough! I'll give this another pass ❤
is there a way to opt out of this?? 99 times out of 100 that I'm interacting with an image, i just want to hover it for stats (especially on mobile), this new update has made it harder to do that and i keep accidentally hitting the heart as well without meaning to. it slows down how I'm using the site/interacting with item images and makes it harder for me tbh.
i liked the original method that i have gotten used to and when i do want to WL it's more intentional. :)
I don't like it. As others have said, the heart covers the item. Again, what was wrong with the unobtrusive little plus sign?
I like it except for the location which is not convenient. I've clicked it by accident a few times.
I'm agreeing with most people so far - the plus sign was unobtrusive and difficult to tap by accident which is exactly what we want in a wishlist feature! Whereas the heart is huge, right in the middle, and easy to tap by accident. This doesn't feel like an improvement to me at all.
Going to move it and see if we can get to a better place!
For some background, the reason this was changed is we comissioned an audit a few years ago for accessibility, and the wishlist +/- interaction was one of the top things to change, because of how frequent of an interaction it is and how small the target was. It also wasn't keyboard accessible at all, just a <div> with a listener on it, and now it can be navigated to without a mouse.
I'll give the size and placement another pass, but hopefully that gives a little bit of detail on why it changed, and why it's a little bit larger.
How do I keep missing the site update posts?? Anyhow, I understand now why the changes are happening. Thank you for agreeing to have another look at this.
Hey, tha's kinda cool. Thanks.
