Free Pet Slot!

I'm sure that you've seen talk about this on the forums, but I just wanted to make a news post making it official!

I'd like to have 2,000 users online at any point between now and November 15th. If we can make that happen, I will give every user who has logged in the past month a free Loyalty Pet Slot Totem which can be redeemed for a free pet slot! (Which means you can get another pet)

Also, if you're online when the 2,000 people are online you get a super cool achievement, an a forum title to go with it!

There are a few topics on the forums where users are trying to organize and make this happen.

For those saying a GA medal is required to redeem the extra pet slot: if my understanding is correct you don't have to buy a GA medal unless you're already exceeding the amount of pets you currently slated to own without one.

Using myself as an example: I have 12 pets right now. I've used 2 totems in the past to give myself pet slots, which means that when my account has GA status I have 12 pet slots. When my account doesn't have GA status, though, I have 7 pet slots, because the two totem pet slots aren't tied to the GA medal. If I'd never used a GA account to create 5 extra pets, I would have 7/7 pets, and using this pending (hopefully!) totem would put me at 7/8, allowing me to create a pet for the empty slot. However, because I've used a GA in the past to create 5 extra pets, I'll be at 12/8 and will require the GA medal to bump my available pet slot total to 13.

Anyway, my point is that I believe users who have never used a GA medal to create pet slots should be able to use this totem to make a new slot without requiring a GA medal. If I'm wrong on this someone please jump in and correct me.

I think it would help if there was an newsletter emailed to people too.

Either way, I hope this is not at a time I won't be able to go on... I've heard people say 12:30 subeta time, which is 1:30 AM where I live...

For all of you that are asking about the GA question and the totem, yes you -must- have the GA to create/adopt another pet. I've used 2 of the totems in the past and had to have a GA. So it's not really that bad, $5.00 vs the cost of one of the mystical plushies? Yea, I'd take GA and totem.

I know not everyone will be able to join in at one time with so many users in different time zones so here is my thought. Since we have until Nov. 15th is there a chance this can be done more than once? Can there be the one planned for Oct 23 at 12:30 Subeta time (EST) and a second at a time workable for say our friends in Australia and on the other half of the world? It can be set up so you only get the prizes once but if you're in a crossover area you could pop on and help those friends reach their 2000. Just a thought!

To those of you who were talking about leaving your computer up, you could possibly do that if you have Firefox and a certain reload plugin. I don't know the name, but I have a plugin where you can leave a certain page to refresh itself in certain increments of time. Looking at mine, the best option would be the 5 minute refresher.

...Of course, I'm not doing this cause my computer shuts itself off after 10 min. D': But I'll be quite happy with that pet slot totem! I'm sure others will organize more dates to get 2000 users to help others get the achievement in the future, too.

The 23rd just seemed like a good date, and 12:30 a good time. It's good for all our Euro players too. It WILL NOT work for everyone, there are like 24 time zones in the world. Lol. I am a little disappointed this one thread that was started later is getting posts and links, but maybe that's me just being jealous. If there are multiple threads, just link to the general discussion.

Actually, I believe after 10-15 minutes of inactivity subeta sees you as offline
