Yeah I'm sure you'd be saying the same thing if your favorite pet got a different look that doesn't fit with the pet you liked so much, not to mention there goes an angelic potion down the drain. You'd be really happy if someone told you to "if you don't like it go change it!"

But don't worry my keeto is going to be changing soon into a Glacier Antlephore, at least I know that one won't get revamped...hopefully!

Even though I'm not like spazzing over the Angelic Keeto redraw and everything (and even though I'm changing my Ang Keeto), I don't see how everybody is saying that the Ang Keeto didn't need a revamp...

It had colored lineart (wings), the face didn't even look at all like a Keetos, not all that much shading (that I can tell, but I don't really know) and it's not shiny and/or soft looking like all the new revamps of pets...
I dunno, I was looking at my Keeto whenever the Ang Popoko came out and was debating on changing it to the Popoko, but I just decided to wait for the redraw (I kinda figured there'd be one soon)...because the Ang Keeto didn't really look like a Keeto anymore and I wanted to see what it'd be redrawn to look like.

I really like the new Keeto. ^^ I was already planning on getting one, and this has been a rather pleasant surprise.

I think both new pets are a vast improvement. I have no problems with either one.

Truth be told, if you don't like the Keeto, don't get it, or change it if you already have it.
Subeta is much nicer then other petsites. They at least let us poll on redraws of the common colors. Most Sites don't do that. The old keeto did not look much like the current redraw. It needed to be edited and fixed to be more consistent with the rest of it's species. Now it fits better.

I personally think it looks danged amazing.

Oh and that Kanis is love <3 If I ever get a GA, I'll get one to be Arrogant's sister.

Hmm...I'm an owner of an angelic Keeto, and I'm not sure if I like the new one or not. I personally don't think it was in need of a revamp. I don't hate this new one, but a few things bug me.
The main thing bothering me is the mouth. Normally I don't mind the break-in-the-mouth thing, but it doesn't look good here. Something about the wings looks weird too, though maybe it's just me. And the stomach looks kinda fat compared to the chest. XD
I'd been considering changing or pounding my Keeto anyway, so I guess it doesn't really matter that much.

Personally I love the fact that the pose was kept..but I think the face looks kinda male-ish now x_o
And the circles around the eyes are gone -sadness-

Oh well, at least this gives me a reason to get a Angelic Popoko xD -wasn't that attached to her Keeto anyways ^^-

Reborn Kanis's pose is kinda odd in my opinion (just because the old one was so differently posed), but I love the fire and everything else.

I think the old Angelic Keeto was VERY up to date with the site's current art, and just cause the older artist (MysticCookie) is retired, doesn't mean it needed to get a redraw. Though it doesn't matter, this one is fantastic anyway.

It seems that the wrong keeto image is showing up only for me but thanks to Cara i can see the new keeto image

i personally like the new keeto image really. it looks more realistic in a way. it doesn't look like it has two toes anymore and the eyes aren't so slanted, and you can actually see the stomach. the paws and arms are nice and smooth now and the wings are pleasing. the little neckfluff is lovely too now that it doesn't look like it was just sticking out of the chest

the old keeto was nice but i like this one better <3

gosh i still need to change my reborn keeto, its new head looked weird, i'm glad the angelic one came perfect i just wanted the eye marking bigger; bleh its just a detail
i wish the spectrum and the graveyard keeto keeps with the same pose :c

The Kanis is pretty. 83 ♥

The Keeto is too but there are some things I don't like about it. I wish the eyes were completely surrounded by the gray like in the old one. Also the ears don't look very good and the right wing also looks off... for some reason. o.o; And I don't like the blue.

However, there are some improvements to it in contrast to the old keeto. The chest fur looks nicer, and the shading is a amazing. Also the shape and size of the eye is pretty. :3

GASP The Keeto is completely beautiful. I had awaited its revamp and I feared it wouldn't be this great. But this, by far, does amazing justice to it! Love to the amazing artist!

I LOVE the new Kanis. It's wonderful. C:
But the Keeto. I love the shading and all... I just wish it still had the old face. This face is just... well, I don't know. It looks like one of my friends when they're trying to calm down after too much Mountain Dew... and losing.
The old one's face actually looked calm and... well, angelic. I miss it. :c

Again, I'm talking about ALL the revamps that have taken place over the course of 2-3 years, not just recent ones. Yes, there have been polls where user critiques were taken into account, but only a few, and only the ones the artists wanted to listen to. There were far more in which critiques didn't appear to be heeded at all despite polls (Ghostly, Chelon, Magnus, Velosotor, and Sheeta come to mind).

The artist can take user comments on their revamp and redraw some of the aspects a little, but the revamp will still go through regardless.

Therein lies the problem. I'm not saying everything that gets revamped doesn't need it (though that's true occasionally, like now with the Keeto); only that sometimes the revamp it gets wasn't the revamp it needed. And when those are polled, if "no" gets less than about 70% of the votes, "yes" wins, plain and simple.

But poll discussion is off-topic here; I only brought it up as an example and people decided to pay more attention to it than my main point. So I'm dropping it.

Point is... there is no point, I suppose, since I was just stating an opinion.

I restate: it'snot about the revamp in general. we appreciate the art updates (at least I do) when it comes to pose and shading, he major point was actually that people feel their pets have a certain "character" and are afraid of them changing (majorly) when they get revamped. nobody is trying to demotivate the artists or willfully trying to despirit them, and it's obvious you can't make everybody happy :/ but it would be nice if you could consider our side too and see that even if some of the old art may be outdated, we often adopted our pets because we felt they had a special "something" to go with them which often gets lost in the updates. so even if it's easy to say "bah we can't make everyone happy anyway", please don't stop caring or get rid of the polls, we DO appreciate them and I think until now they have always been an improvement. :3

The new Keeto is very well shaded and the colors fit nicely, but... I liked the old one more. Well, a matter of a taste I guess.
The new Kanis looks absolutely stunning.

AngelEmbryo, the polls DO affect the revamps. In case you haven't noticed, nearly all the revamps are revamped /again/ after the initial one, with changes based on what the users liked or didn't like about the proposed revamp.
The Ruffie recently got repolled after its initial revamp and took many of the user comments and crits into consideration, like the eyebrows and anatomy issues.
If the artist (Rah) hadn't listened to the users, there never would have been a second revamp, or another poll.

After a species gets nominated for a revamp, they aren't just going to scrape the whole thing because a percentage of the population hate it. It was nominated for a revamp for a reason and that needs to be followed through. The artist can take user comments on their revamp and redraw some of the aspects a little, but the revamp will still go through regardless.

I was speaking of revamps in general, not just the Angelic Keeto. I know special colors don't get polls, and I wasn't asking for one. It was a comment on all the revamps that happen here, polled or otherwise. Even when there's no poll, many times there's still a very significant percentage of people against it, but it never seems to matter when the "omg kyoooot!!!1!" voices outweigh it.

If the new Keeto was changed just to be "consistent" with the other Keetos, then where's the scar on its face? Where's the tiny, neat muzzle and slender body? Where's the sly, mysterious expression? If you ask me, those changes are just as inconsistent with the species as a little dark tip on the ears and extension of the marking around the eyes were, if not more so.

I also never said the revamp isn't good quality. Only that the old version was of perfectly good quality as it was. Please don't put words in my mouth.

Personally I think the new Angelic Keeto looks wonderful! Good job to who ever the artist was! It matches the Common Keeto more with out losing the wonderful pose. I think it looks more serene and the wings are finally don't look flat anymore.

The new keeto isn't of high quality? Just because you don't like it, doesn't mean that its wrong. We didn't revamp the angelic keeto because we didn't like it - we revamped it because it wasn't consistent with the common keeto.

And I remember neopets revamping a LOT of pets actually. (I ended up morphing my kyrii into an ixi because I hated that revamp, and it was the common posed revamp, and we got no say in it at all)

Most other petsites i've played I haven't stuck around on long enough to see revamps, but I know they happen. Art has to progress, or the site will be stuck in the past.

We just don't have TIME to poll everything. And judging by the comments here, even if we had polled this keeto, it seems like a lot of people would have suggested ways of making it like the old angelic keeto, rather than making it look more like the common keeto.

I'm tempted to make a list on my profile of all the pets I'm going to be revamping in the future, so people aren't so shocked when they happen

Sari: You want to see the GY Keeto revamped just because people have said they don't want it to be? That's a little... mean. : Please correct me if I read that wrong.

Alraune had a very good point: maybe no other sites give users the privilege of voting on revamps, but no other site compulsively revamps everything under the cyber-sun just for the sake of it, either. Besides, 99% of polls end up with the new version winning anyway, even when over 1/3 or even up to 1/2 of users vote no.

I always said I'd rather listen to the "no" voices of people who truly know what they're talking about and can name good reasons for why they prefer the old art, than the "yes" voices of people who have nothing more useful to say than "omg its soooo cute and shiny!!!!!". Even if those "no"s are slightly less than 50% of the total. But I guess quantity really does mean more than quality here.
