Sebastian Phoenix has been tinkering away all weekend on a plan to raise the User Shop Limit to 50,000,000sP per item. He worked very hard, and the Subeta Senate passed it without any problem, as long as it continues to benefit the economy.

For those of you will run around screaming like you've just had your heads chopped off that this will ruin the trades. The trades are for trading. As in, items. For items. And other items. And maybe sometimes.. more items.

hmm it is going to ruin my tradeing habits, but as long as it's good for the economy I'll not complain xD

I kinda like the whole idea. It's certainly more convenient when it comes to the more rare items. And...it'll benefit...someone...

Ah, who am I kidding. I'm just happy that I can just put expensive things in my shop now. XD

I think it's a great idea! For everyone complaining, just reread the post; it emphasizes that this will continue only as long as it benefits the economy. I'm interested to see how it works out ( ^o^)b

Oh no. I feel really sorry for those who have or will be coming to join Subeta, as it will be well-nigh impossible for them to buy plushies and beanbags to get an award. Ever since we were allowed to state prices in our shops up to 1 million, greed has reared its very ugly head, with items that were reasonable just a year ago, are now almost out of reach. Please Subeta Council reconsider and bring back the limit that could be charged in our shops to 100,000 sPs.

I see "new" items that are common and normal rarities starting at 50 million now. If prices inflate in that manner quests will be out of the question. I already put an investment cap on what I spend per quest. And it always seems when I hit a new but not so rare item the price is more that what the quest is worth doing. Special holiday items will go through the roof due to greed. I hope it cleans up the trades but it could cause issues in other areas.

I hope that some people still use the trades to get items below 10m.

I see it coming that I need to put down all my trades, cause why should someone trade with me now? I want wishlistitems for my items, but It's so much easier for the users, to sell their items in user shops and buy the items in user shops.

Time to sell my trade items and buy my wishlistitems with pure from usershops - I don't think, someone will trade for them after this update, that makes it so much easier to get items without interacting with other users.

ha , like every other person that loves the site the way it is( was) . we are always so afraid of changes. specially when you are used to the idea of doing a trade , the interaction with in seller and buyer, the actual fun of haggling on a trade , and the always nice oportunity of getting that seller on the moment when he /she needs sp fast. and get it for a better price. Now is there is the Item . Hurry up and Buy. No money no honey. The price you see in the item is what you have to pay , if you want the item. So is for all those that are used that when you go to buy something you acctually talk to another person , you can say good bay to that and say welcome the Automatization.

And it really just occurred to me HOW much that is. I can't imagine ever having FIFTY mil, much less, buy one item for that much. faints

So this really affects me not at all!

December 31, 1969, 7:00 pm by Parody
User Avatar

I'm not really sure I like this idea. I mean, yes, it's a free market, but with undercutters running loose around the site... Well, when you undercut a 50mil item and put it in your shop for 25mil, yeah, you're making a quick buck, but what about the other sellers? Not many people really want to spend even that much on an item, and I know that if I ever had something that expensive and tried to sell it, I wouldn't be able to buy the item from the undercutter.

The real problem is that when an item hits the shops, it deflates. Big time. Now, I'm not really one for inflation, but it kind of suggests something when r99s and old DPs start selling lower. Sure, some r99s aren't going to be worth much to a lot of people, but why were they able to get that low in the first place?

And if the sp option on the trades is removed like some people are asking, I will have had enough. That shouldn't even be taken into consideration. As an artist, when I have prices negotiated beforehand for commissions and the like, sometimes the buyer will also include a little tip - and how am I supposed to know that they'll do that? Also, the point someone made earlier: if you're trading for a 10mil item with an 8mil item... you'd need to include an extra 2mil.

But honestly, I think that in the long run this will prove to hurt the economy more, so I dunno~

Wow, It will be weird to get used to but I think eventually this will be great! I was initially resistant to the increase to 1mil but now I like it. The trades really are a pain when you're looking for pure, and buying takes wayyy toooo long in some cases. This will improve that. Less haggling to worry about too.

December 31, 1969, 7:00 pm by Midnight_916
User Avatar

NO! this is just going to deflate everything, it's already deflated some DP items. sigh

December 31, 1969, 7:00 pm by SHiVA
User Avatar

The problem with this is now if I want an item under 50 million but I want to trade with items, it will be hard to find the item I want (since most everyone will stuff the item in their shops). Sure I can look up the item in shops and ask the person if they'll trade for so-and-so item(s), but many people probably wouldn't want to do that, thus I'll be bothering them and wasting my own time.

On the other hand, the massive deflation that will ensue will help me get my wishlist items for a fraction of the price they are now (don't know if that's a good thing or bad thing..)

So, I'm not totally against the idea... I guess I'll see how it all goes. I just hope my 3-5 million sP items don't deflate to less than a million in a few days

My only problem with this is items like the Blade of Myths & Legends, when you do a shop search for it it comes up with This item does not exist, please be more specific. I think some of the trivia prizes do the same thing. So they will still have to be sold though trades even though they are under the limit?

December 31, 1969, 7:00 pm by Kyrre
User Avatar

This will be helpful, I'd think, for people who used to put things up in trades for only 2mil when the other things were at 5mil, and they'd never trade that item away... so other people were forced to lower their cost because the 2mil item couldn't be sold. And also, people who go away for 30 days and have things in their shop, at least you can still buy that item now instead of hoping they find their way back to the site. I love this change!!
