I don't care that I missed a trivia. I don't care that I didn't get the prize. I've missed trivias in the past and I know I'll do it again, I don't care about that.

I was angry about the fact that this trivia lacked clarification that could lead to multiple possible answers. Some of agree with my view and some of you don't, that's your opinion and yours alone.

If a trivia is just a string of colors, I feel that it needs more clarification. Not all of us will make the same leap to "list of items" that whomever created the trivia did, and for them they came across other possible answers that fit the criteria of the trivia perfectly fine. Is one answer "more correct" then the other? Yes. I freely admit that Dream gem fit in with Subeta's general trivia style better. However I also feel that my answer could also be seen as correct given the string of words that was given as the question.

I don't play the trivia because I expect to win every one and get free items, I honestly don't. I do them because they are a (usually) fun way to explore the site and get something of a reward in the process.

Well, like I just said, I think the reason people are upset is that they were basically told there WASN'T any work involved in the last trivia. But I do agree that dream is the only answer (now that I think about it) that fits.

And yes, some people are sucking up; some people are being overly-argumentative or defensive. But most people are trying to be rational about the whole thing. :

You know! Some of you people just need to quit playing trivia. It isn't a free gift, it is supposed to have some work involved and some are much harder than others, thus the reason some prizes are more valuable than others. Those who think that people who defend Debi are "suck-ups" and other such charming names, are going to have a tough time in the real world. I have spent ages trying to find this one and will probably go head-desk when it's over, but I will realize that it's a game and go on to the next one. Spending time grousing about the trivias is just a waste of time and eventually will probably lead to it's demise. So, if you don't like the way the game is played, then don't play it! Instant gratification DOES NOT start here.

I didn't go back and read everything from last night, but I agree with Lynelle on why the dream gem is the only answer that fits perfectly.

However, I don't see how anyone could say it was "mature" to move on from something that you feel legitimately cheated out of. :/ That's just being overly-passive. And yes, since the trivia question said it was super easy, the missing color in the sequence was the only thing I thought of, since it was the first thing that sprung to mind. "Super easy" WILL mean different things to different people, so even though the answer might have been dream, others would have thought of different things that seemed more obvious to them. Maybe that's why so many people are upset.

Long post, sorry

First off, there has NEVER been a new Trivia up within seven hours, unless Keith himself changed it. The only shorter than usual one recently was up for 18-19 hours, and had well over the usual 1500 answers (almost 1700, actually). Second, there were NOT two (or more) answers to this question; anyone else checking it would have seen it exactly the same way. The fact that a few people are somewhat stubborn and simply refuse to accept that fact is not something which is within my power to control. If purple were the answer, then violet would have also had to have been accepted, as it's the actual color that's in the color spectrum... from which indigo would also have been absent. Dream was the only possible correct Subeta related answer. And I am extremely highly offended that people who simply refuse to accept that they are incorrect now suggest that a job that was personally assigned to me by Keith, who completely trusts me with it, should now be taken away from me, because they happened to get a question wrong, and flat out refuse to listen to the explanation, and accept why their answers were incorrect. I should have a job taken from me because they can't accept that they could possibly be wrong? I don't think so, I really don't. And, has it ever occurred to anyone that, because of these sorts of situations and this attitude, no one else on Staff WANTS this job? It's true, even Primal stopped doing them when she was an AA. I don't even make up fifty per cent of the questions myself (such as this one); other users do. The bottom line is that there was NOT more than one possible answer to that one. And, basically, it's me or nothing! XD (Or Keith's fun time coding Trivias XD). I'm sorry to those who truly believe that they were right, but it just simply isn't the case this time. However, if I ever do mess one up (like that unfortunate misspelling incident... and the Louis L'Amour fiasco XD...) I freely admit it.

You want to post a complaint, fine, do so...but don't keep posting over and over again about it. We all get your point, you're unhappy about it. So be it ! And those that agree with you will post to you about it and those that don't, well, I for one could give a rats ass really. Just like ya all are probably saying about my post now..lol I mean if things like this are the most upsetting things ever to happen in someone's life, no matter what age you are, then consider yourself very blessed !! Dang !
And I honestly do not know how Debilee puts up with all this! I could never do it ! And I honestly don't think any of you that are attacking her could either!

Since when is "sucking up" defined as asking others to accept the fact that they were wrong and stop ruining future trivia for the rest of us? There was nothing wrong with the way the trivia question was posed, otherwise there wouldn't have been as many people who did indeed find the correct answer.

Just because I happen to believe there is no sense in complaining about a trivia game on a site where playing here is a privilege, not a right, does not mean I am "sucking up" to anyone.

What benefit do any of the people here get from defending DebiLee in this case? Oh yes, that's right, what you all don't know is DebiLee gives out special rewards to those of us that aren't out for blood because we got one trivia wrong and need someone else to blame. (That last bit was sarcasm for anyone who might have missed it.)

I put brown because it was the only colour in the Carnival picture that was missing from the list and all the other colours from the list were there. I figured I was wrong, but had to put something I did check out a number of coloured items - like the new brooms and so forth, but many were either missing one from the list, or there was more than one missing colour. I do think it was kinda vague. There are any number of sets of coloured objects that could have been the 'correct' set, and no other clue in the description to narrow down which set to use.

Well, Sp4de, not everyone uses Google as their search engine. I use a charitable one and I got an article that held the same information, that was actually authored by a respectable group in the field and got a different answer.

As would anyone who knows they are right, I am having a VERY hard time accepting the "wrong" answer when I had it in b&w in front of me. All I am saying is; when people have their own web site, then they can have their own trivia game and pick the "right" answer for themselves.

Hehe, actually got one right. Just did a random guess on the new one, so I doubt I'll get that. Ah well, not a big deal. Reading everyone's comments helped me in more ways than one. (Namely, seeing how annoyed so many people are getting convinced me to not spend more than five minutes on a Trivia. As well, to take it with a grain of salt. After all, I already spotted a major flaw in the system that no one's even mentioned, but it doesn't enable cheating so I'm not about to mention it. It's inconsequential.)

Bagheera, I remember that trivia and if the question had been copied and pasted in google everyone would have gotten it right. It is not Debi's fault if people choose to reword or shorten trivia questions.

I honestly don't see how this question was hard for anyone who has played subeta actively for about 2 months. A list of colors and the question "What is missing?" seems pretty straightforward to me. Especially considering when it was posted.

Trivias are meant to be challenging. You can come up with 2 or 10 different theories but only one is truly correct.

I just have to say. I didn't even try this last "super easy" trivia cause, um, it wasn't a giveaway answer like the question led you to believe. It was just another ordinary trivia, IMO. 'Course I realize I am not allowed to have that here but bear with me.

Awhile back there was a non-Subeta related trivia regarding people giving pets gifts. Plenty of people got it right, but plenty of us got it wrong. This was the one time I had to point out the innaccuracy of the question to Debi, who, 99% of the time I support. But in this instance, at the very least, there WAS more than one CORRECT answer. She was quoting a very specific source, but those of us who didn't look at THAT source got a completely different, yet still CORRECT answer.

The moral of the story is; Debi (and other staff members) are human. They are NOT perfect. And guess what? No one in here is! The lesson I learned from that experience was, if I get it wrong and I really like the item - buy it. It really aggravated me and turned me off to trivias for awhile but the other option is not to play at all and I don't want to do that.
