Remember for these pet colors, artists have a color table they have to stick to - including making the base color of the pet white, or very, very light.

All you have to do is use the eye-drop tool to see for yourself." --- Of course they are, but take the glacier Feli, or the Glacier Keeto, or the Glacier Kumo, for example. All have darker bellies because white is the main colour for these pets. The artist who redrew the revamp decided to extend it's belly color to the face, and made the mask the same color as the body. That's precisely what Illusion did, without fail.

Every artist has their "own" little touch, which is what makes the beauty of the art on Subeta. Sure, we have a certain style to keep to, but we all add our personal touch. I think Illusion followed most perfectly MC's common Pherret, in terms of style. They're not Tsume/Vampire's Pherrets, and that's a fact. The Pherret has not been changed, though, it's now exactly the same shape as the common one. ^^;

If the colors were the right way (light on belly, dark on body) then this glacier pet would look nothing like the rest. So I think the question was, whether to make the coloring look like a common pherret, or make it look like a glacier pet (white on body, dark markings). Either way something wouldn't have worked out. I think the artist picked a fine choice by making it look like glacier pets.
And you all know that if the coloring was the other way, everyone would yell and moan about how it looks nothing like the regular pherrets.
But it was done intentionally. Which means it is not WRONG. Its different on purpose, not WRONG. The artist decides, its not for you to say its wrong. = If difference is wrong, then there's a lot of wrong things around here.

I agree with Sevva. It's all backwards : Still cute, but backwards.
So if you're saying it's "wrong", then the Glacier Mortiking and Antlephore are also "wrong" since their darks and lights are inverted just like the Pherret's. You can even add the Glacier + Spectrum Felis into the wrong category too.

(This is basically the same discussion as that with the Anyu's blank nose, versus the Anyu with the darker nose. People wanted the markings to remain the same, it's not an insult to the artist in the least bit.)
Alewiina, I know that, and I'm saying it's wrong. The Pherret, and the other pets all have a certain look and basic layout that they should all maintain. This one does not maintain the same look as the other Pherrets, which is exactly why so many people have complained.
It's the artists job to draw the pet, as it was, only tweaking this or that, and revamping or updating the style. Not to change what colors go where or what shape the markings should be, these are specific things that should remain constant through each species. Because if every new artist keeps changing the pets, then the pets will look nothing like how they are supposed to anymore.
I like the lighter mask. I think it's different and unique. Love it! ^^

Actually, I just noticed the entire pherret's coloring is backwards. =/
I think it's a great coloring job. But the pherret should be far lankier and just..more fluffy. Thicker I suppose would be a better word for it.
Also, the coloring on the face seems backwards to me. It would probably have looked far better with the mask being the blue and the face being white. The rest of the Pherrets ALL have a darker mask and a lighter face around the mask. I think just fixing that would make it far, far better.

DaringSpirit: I think the feet are drawn correctly: the paws probably don't stand parallel to each other, of the left paw is heading away from the right one, it's only natural that you don't see the tip (I hope I'm explaining this right drop).
