The Graveyard Chai and Magnus have both recieved a...uhh... fresh new look! "Fresh" used in a relative manner, of course. D:

I very strongly dislike the new Magnus. It lacks the charm of the old one, to be frank.

This new one looks to muscular or lumpy. I like the broken gargoyle effect, but I don't like the actual drawing.

Sorry, artist.

i am not too fond of the new Magnus... the art itself is, of course, not the problem. that is pretty cool!
the broken stone gargoyle effects are neat. and the showing teeth on it's mouth! ^^

IceMistress, Zess might have been rude... too bad it's true what she said. i am so lucky i choosed Paralix over Magnus to keep as GY!!! ... but still live in permanent fear for Faolin being "destroyed" the same way all old Magnus where.
although i realy love the other art of this artist... i realy hate the change the Mangus has gone through. (getting kinda chubby, loosing that cool smirk etc) it's all about personal likes i guess... but having the pet you own (or planed to because of it's look) revamped is hard in most times. shrugs

December 31, 1969, 7:00 pm by Deleted User

Not really diggin' the new GY Magnus as much as the old one. Old seem to have a certain charm and look that I wish was transfered to the new one. Like the same pose and the likes as of the old one.

But nice art of the new one with the broken stone effects. Its still filling for a Magnus with the new art.

eh...I really prefer the old magnus to this one. The old was skinny, smooth, and refined. Overall, the old one just had a better body shape. This one is a lot bulkier. Granted, the coloring wasn't amazing but I liked the simplicity. Also, the back legs on the old one look like they are sitting and the back legs on the new one just look too short. Plus the long sharp horns were lost in the revamp. And the stone looks kind of strange in some places like the mouth. I prefer the patchwork skin look instead. I guess this is all personal stuff but others may feel this was too. I was planning on getting a graveyard magnus but after this revamp, i'm just not sure anymore.

December 31, 1969, 7:00 pm by Deleted User

They took away all the qualities I liked in the old Magnus. They did put alot of detail in it but it is nothing like it used to be. I could see how a person who didn't own a graveyard magnus before would like it. I never did like the original color revamp either. They look fat.

December 31, 1969, 7:00 pm by Deleted User

The old magnus was way better.

Zess, that was rude. These posts are supposed to be constructive critisism, not complaints and flames.
Plus, have you not noticed that ALL other Magnus have that same anatomy? The look of chubbyness? That's how it's supposed to look like, and that's how it will be. Though I DO agree that it kinda does look a wee bit cute....

Serenade, I see what you mean with the "dotted" shading on the Magnus...
I think that maybe that since the Magnus is a gargoyle, it was the artist's way of trying to make it look more stone like, with a pebbly stone skin instead of actual scales or skin...
I think. xD haha, I don't know. But that's my take on it...

December 31, 1969, 7:00 pm by Deleted User

I think they're both good improvements c: The Magnus especially looks awesome.

But Im growing weary of such mean comments Dx I understand constructive criticism, but some of these comments are rude and harsh. Like someone else said, people put a lot of time into these. And comments about how they destroyed the art, or how bad they look, or how much you hate it, are NOT constructive. Its rude and makes me sad ):

Great job artists, try not to pay attention to the rude comments ):

Thanks for destroying the Magnus I really loved the thin body and arms, and especially the cold black eyes with the glowing dots in them. Now it looks chubby, almost 'cute'.

They're both great, but I've got two concerns. XD

The Magnus seems to be.. out of style. I don't know why, but it just does. The shading looks like 'dotted' shading or something.

The Chai's body and feed anatomy seem off. @@;; I can't really explain what I mean, but I'm sure someone has already covered what's wrong with it.

Everyone who's complaining that coding won't "solve the problem":
I went through the same thing you're going through a few days ago when the reborn Keeto was revamped, only I accepted the revamp, just didn't like certain aspets of it.
But I came to realize something, something very, very important:
Subeta is an EVOLVING site.
Meaning? Meaning that it is constantly going through renewals and revamps in order to get the best art available, in order to keep the pets looking up to date and wonderful, and in order to not have old art being the "official" art, because, when its really, really old, it actually looks really unofficial, too.
And you should all be glad we actually have to option to recode in order to keep the old images! Most sites won't let you do that, you're stuck with whichever revamp comes along.
So you all, do what I did. Take a deep breath, walk away from the computer, stop stressing over it, and then come back when you start thinking rationally.
Remember: Even in nature, nothing stays the same. You have to get used to change eventually.

I thought the point of revamping is to get the old image off the site.. so clinging onto it like that (whether through code change or brining it back in a different "colour") defeats the purpose of revamping at all? o.o

December 31, 1969, 7:00 pm by Templar

Zoshi, that only solves the problem in one place. The coding doesn't change the image you see when you go to the 'Pets' section on the sidebar or when you go see the training guy. I can handle it for my reborn tigrean, since he is at the bottom of my page and I only see him if I have to change something on his page or whatever.
Coding is NOT a cure-all for owners of the pet.

They are drawn really well. I don't like them because I dislike all Graveyard pets. Personally, I find them disgusting. But, I think that is their job...to be gross and disgusting. It's just not for me!

Good job, Artists.

I never thought of Magnuses being stone through and through - more like stone on the outside, but alive underneath. When I said "inorganic" before, I meant that the decay is inorganic. I get turned off by guts hanging out and stuff XP

I think the both look incredible, and the detail on the Magnus is amazing and fits really well with the pet.

Am I the only one that thinks Magnus (as a whole) isn't a gargoyle, but a stone-skinned dragon? I see no gargoyle what-so-ever...

Anyway, I do love the look of the new GY Magnus, it's quite lovely. However, it does lack a bit of a... cocky personality that the older one had. Honestly, I like both versions, but it seems like they're two different species, due to looks and personality.

On the other hand, I'm not a big fan of either Chai, but this one at least looks a little better, since I like the foot caught in the bear trap look.

December 31, 1969, 7:00 pm by Deleted User

o_0 My Magnus!!!!! I liked the old one better. This one is good, but the older one suited better, and didn't look 'cute'. It's a great job on both... but the Magnus looks a bit chubby, it should be thinner 'cause it's decaying and what not ^-^

December 31, 1969, 7:00 pm by hollo

Chrissacide, you can always use the coding to keep your pet's image the old GY Chai, you know. There's no need to make a potion/option to specifically change pets to the old designs. You can change the code on the pets site, and on your user page as well if you're using the V2 layout...

December 31, 1969, 7:00 pm by Deleted User

Mmm I've read some other comments and I understand now why the magnus was changed =/ For it being a gargoyle, the detail work and everything does fit. I just wish the old version of the GY Magnus could be put to a different species xD It was sooo gorgeous.

December 31, 1969, 7:00 pm by Deleted User

Cool ^^ GY Chai is so awsome and GY Magnus is realy cute (I dunno why, I like dead and creepy stuff)
The bear trap and chains on Chai fits the GY look on a dead bear.
Magnus' eyes look realy fierce. And the detail is realy cool ^^ I love them!

i love the work and effort put into the graveyard magnus, but.. i was so used to the other one; it was characteristically thin. ;_; i don't know if that made sense. but this magnus seems a little too.. i don't know how to put it. too thick to be graveyard? u_u
