All this talk of "punishment" being unfair seems off. It's not like they're taking away something we ALREADY had, just altering future potential to give lower prizes. Yeah, it's disappointing, but I'm glad that the trivia is at least still here, because it's a fun thing.

Clearly its in the rules that you can not give out the answer every single time you go to answer a trivia..... don't bother playing a online game if you have to cheat to play please

ohh and can't people go on aim and lessage for answeres? I know people who do that! they get the answeres then they message eachother saying get on aim and then they give the answeres.

I hardly get any of them! XD but one I totaly guessed on and got it right! I was so proud of myself! I just think it's sad that people think it's okay to cheat. Now the trivia is really worth doing. but I guess it's better than nothing!

While I wish there was a way to punish the cheaters and not the rest of the fair playing crowd, I agree with Debi.. Theres not much we can do to the cheating people until they know WHO it was exactly. Id MUCH rather the dimished prizes for everyone, rather than NO trivia for anyone.

I looked for some and haven't found any yet, other than the warning "You are not allowed to give out the answers for the trivia. If you are caught, you will be frozen!" on the trivia page itself. I tried Help as well, but nothing looking like rules there either.

I 100% agree, actually. If anyone has a suggestion for a different method of handling it, when the cheaters use different user names on the other site than they do here, trust me, I'm all ears.

I'm not sure where you might have seen that comment, Penny, but it's definitely untrue if you did. The only help that you can get would be from a parent, teacher, etc. WHO DOES NOT PLAY ON SUBETA. Any sharing of ideas among Subeta players is strictly forbidden; the trivia is to be an individual effort. I believe that other sites also have a very similar rule. Also, it's just commonsense. If one person discusses with a group of four friends, and then one or two of those people move on and share what was discussed with four or five other people, then, before long, half of the users answering have gotten the answer. The rules very clearly state, and I have repeated here several times, that NO discussion of the current Trivia is permitted; I can't see how you could possibly say that you aren't aware of that, Penny, since I know for sure that you've seen it.

I was under the impression that ANY sharin' of ideas, hints, or anything that may lead to the answer was against the rules... That's just the way I always took it to mean, and figured that was the safest way... If I couldn't find the answer, then I just didn't answer... I've spent hours, (and I mean some serious hours!!) searchin' for answers... The ones I got right, I worked hard to find!! I was proud when I got the event tellin' me I got it right and my prize... It just makes me mad that they had to cheat and ruin it for others... I do thank you, DebiLee, for keepin' the trivia, and I'm sorry the cheaters did that... I hope thy're caught...

This really annoys me I came on here and found this and I'm really annoyed now. I can understand that something needs to be done but I'm sorry but I don't think it's a fair way of dealing with it. Why should those who havnt EVER cheated be punished why should we get less sP and less rarer items it wasn't our fault and I don't think that allot of people cheat it's just some. I'm quite disheartened by this news seems to me they are winning and we are now ALL being punished surley there must be a fairer soloution... I don't mean to argue but this isn't a fair way at all ... Do you think those of us that don't cheat are happy that cheating happens, NO we're not but this is just wrong I don't see why I should be treated like a cheater. Well thanks cheaters looks like you have spoiled this fre EVERYONE and it's so unfair I'm going now, I'm angry... Sorry but I just feel it's a real shame and a sad thing to happen ...

I don't really care for prizes anyway, I just do trivias for the heck of, but I'm sympathetic for all of you people who have had trivia ruined due to cheaters. On a happier note, this was actually a pretty easy trivia for me this week.;o

The thing is, the cheating is on an offsite forum. They're giving out the answers- not hints, but actual ANSWERS- on an offsite forum, and that part is out of the Subeta mods' control for the most part.

Bagheera23608, good points. But really, when talking to friends, how many of us DONT say .. see the new ? .. any ideas at all? .. Well, I think ive ruled out ... What about the format? ... etc. That, to me, is working on it together. I see a HUGE difference in that, and what it sounds like happened. And, im not saying it IS ok, im just wanting to know the line of being able to discuss things with friends. I dont want to break rules, but I wont lie that .. with friends, I chat. Its natural ..LOL. What I DONT do is find the answer and immediately IM everyone on my list ...thats a different matter. But, whatever is decided, or explained is cool with me, but yeah, clarification is a nice thing to have

Thanks Moss_Dragon. I missed that part. But if they know it was off site - they still know it was against the rules. I do have every confidence that when found (WHEN not IF) those users will and should be frozen.

(I agree about knowing if it is ok to work on it in small groups. I don't think it is. How can they determine how someone is cheating if that is allowed? So I am going to vote for every person for themselves, lol)

Heavenly_pixie, since my question is likely to have been buried by the time DebiLee gets to see it, i have also Smailed it to her, if I get a reply, and dont see a general info update post made here, I will definitly forward my reply to you I think its a fair question and one MANY ppl, whether they admit it or not ...should know. i really dont think im the only one who works on it .. together .. as a small group of friends. And as im aware there is a difference in out and out cheating, I still want to know where the line of what is ok to share .. is drawn.

WOW, a lot of comments on this topic. I too wonder if a few friends work together if that is considered cheating or not. Some of these trivias are hard and take a lot of searching! I have seen people post the question on Yahoo.. I usually just laugh and ASK IF THEY ARE SUBETAN.

Well - complaining about all the cheaters isnt going to do much good. The idiots know what they did was wrong but they did it anyway. So telling them off won't accomplish much. It does seem to me, that if staff knew there was a forum or some such going on, then they know who was doing the cheating and should freeze those users w/out further delay.

The rule can NOT be any simpler. If you are caught cheating - you can be frozen. Period. End of discussion.

You guys.. all of you who can get these trivia questions right... I commend your intelligence... when I read these questions... they make absolutely no sense to me whatsoever... how you even came up with augustus.. or whatever the answe was.. is beyond me... Honestly.. I would have used the answer if I saw it posted on the forum (i didn't by the way)... there used to be a time when I could get the trivias... now I don't have a even have a chance.. perhaps I am too closed-minded to comprehend them... As for what Debi did.. she did the right thing, but it stinks that other people suffer because of it.. I wanted that prize so badly... I would of paid people off to give me the answer, but because of the rules.. I didn't.... some people were so desperate for the prize.. that they would do ANYTHING to get it...

I have a question on this, and dont get me wrong, I agree OUTRIGHT CHEATING is not cool. BUT, where is the line drawn? Not to cause more issue, but to make is clear to ppl what extent is being punished. Not long ago, I saw a comment that working on a trivia TOGETHER, several friends can help one another out, in a group effort. Is that considered cheating to some (or more important, to the moderators)? I readily, happily admit, I do have a SMALL group of friends, that, bounce ideas on how to search for answers off one another. In continuation of that idea ... once one of that group finds the answer they have ALL been working on, is it cheating for one to then say .. Oh, found it, here you go .. or ... is that one to say .. ok, im done, GL ya'll! .... just asking for this part to be cleared for future of my own acct, and for my personal knowledge. as far as a full forum spouting answers etc .. yeah, uncool, unless .. how do we know that what I just questioned isnt what was done?
