I have never heard of that song, though I did wonder why the price for the katana was so random when it came out. (I should have done some research.)

As for this one, I'm really bad at trivias like this. At this rate it will take forever for me to get my 10th trivia...

The apostrophe trivia was an error on her part--no one got it right. The site has been glitchy with them lately, and I imagine that's why it screwed it up. She didn't set us up or anything.

Thanks to you, DebiLee, I have had that song stuck in my head for DAYS now! LOL Good thing I like it to start with! Now, off to find this latest one. . .

There will never be restrictive rules that say Trivias can only be about, or relate to, x, y, or z, or only be presented in a, b, or c manner. That simply doesn't really work with Trivia, which can technically be about anything, and presented in any manner. The only current "rule" is that they be Subeta related in some way, except for holidays/special events.

I'd prefer some 'set rules' compared to the normal rumor-mill postings. An example was when many people posted that special characters cannot be in trivia answers. It's a common belief, but Deb posted that it is not true. That's from the Louis L'amour trivia.

December 31, 1969, 7:00 pm by Deleted User

Heh! Debilee is absolutely correct. There were several posts in the comments on the news post about the release of the katanas about the song and Tommy Tutone. I even remember having the discussion about the song and teasing someone about it at the time, which is probably the only reason why I knew the answer so quickly. That question was insidiously clever. Major kudos to the author!!

I've complained about plenty of trivias, and this one was hard for me to find, but seriously, it was one of the funnest ones I've seen. I think if all trivia was something easy to find on subetadb (or similarly easy), it really wouldn't be fun anymore. I see no reason for set rules other than that they are almost always subeta related (which this was), and perhaps actually stated that it's not subeta related when they aren't.

There are avid Trivia people who do go back through a few weeks worth of News comments if they can't find an answer.

DebiLee, Maybe it is time that some explicit Trivia rules be put into place. How many times do players have problems with the questions, the way they are presented or the answers actually being related? I'm not fighting your right and I'm wrong. I do believe that rules would make your life and ours easier.

Who would bother to read 2 week old news comments though...if you weren't there when it was posted, or remembered the song lyrics off the top of your head, you were basically screwed on that one, but whatever.

December 31, 1969, 7:00 pm by Deleted User

I knew it was this number but it didn't come up in the DB in the description. Too bad there's no way to check prices.

In The Trivia Question It Says "during its purchase" Which Would Mean When It Says " I Accept The Offer Of 8675309" , Not "Your Offer?" And Anyways, Trivias Are Supposed To Be Confusing.

Mhmm, I got the previous trivia once, I'd heard the song years ago, but it clicked as soon as I saw the price for the katana and went to purchase it

Lauz, the song is about this girl's phone number being 867-5309, the price of the item

You didn't have to have anything memorized... although, if you've heard it once, you probably already do. XD I swear, it's in recent News comments, you just have to go back a couple of weeks.

You don't have to be from the US even; that song was known internationally. MTV and its various stations still show the video. If you go back just a couple of weeks in the News, the comments are all still right there. I think I even made the sP 222 for Tommy "two" tone. XD

Diana, once again, there are no explicit Trivia rules. And "Subeta related" doesn't have to be 100% Subets-related, as long as the answer is. And, no, you're incorrect. The Subeta related Trivia came about to keep people from just posting on Yahoo Answers to get the answer, which could not be done inthis case, obviously. Also, this was even brought up in the News comments when the Katana was first added, do it technically was entirely findable on Subeta at one point.

diana - you could put a just argument forward that it was fully subeta related as the song was mentioned in the comments on the day the Katan was released - several times! I remember that now, but i cou;dn't remember it when i was trying to get the answer... oh well... (goes hunting for this one)

Not gonna complain though, I have 41 trivias correct in the last 6 months

I saw and pondered all the things everyone said they put here, but the key was that it was a once popular song, so I knew it wasn't some nursery rhyme.

December 31, 1969, 7:00 pm by Diana_Marie

I think it depends on the band or the song as to where they've heard it. I really do believe that if your going to ask a question about subeta it should be completely subeta related. While the question came across as subetian it wasn't in fact a question that could be answered by subeta knowledge and that was why the "all subeta trivia" came to be I believe.

December 31, 1969, 7:00 pm by Deleted User

By the way, my guess for the trivia was the Lamb Hand Puppet. I chose it because numerical is also a synonym for continuing/consecutive and the description of the Lamb Hand Puppet is "God I hope this little lamb puppet doesnt sing The Song that Never Ends...."

December 31, 1969, 7:00 pm by Falorie
User Avatar

Ah poo. I guessed Zodiak Fantasy Buckled Boots, cause the description says, "one, two, three buckle my boots. " Like as in "one two buckle my shoe, three four shut the door.." That's a numerical ditty, isn't it? I would have never came to the conclusion of the maple katana

This one though: Yay for patchwork ice cream!! I remember the other time these were given out, it glitched and gave out two (we had to delete one). I'm hoping I can find the answer so I can have another
