A new trivia question has been added!

This is a clever trivia.... took me a bit to figure it out, but I think I got it... ![]()
Hah. That was fun. First I was like whaaat but then I was like ooooh. lol. xP
This one IS Subeta related and found on site ... hunt hunt ...
Is this one SB related ![]()
this one is really hard for me... i feel like i've looked everywhere, but i know i'm missing something. i want this prize, but not so bad that i'll be crushed.
Oh man that was sooo hard but very clever. Craziest thing is that that is the exact song that came into my head when I read the question.
Woot ... got the new one, and on time ...Wheeeeeee
This was a very good trivia question
It may not be my place to say - but I think there could be more elaboration of the rule posted on the actual trivia link page. It states that you are not allowed to give answers, that could include the word hints too; and on this comments page it could state that it should be used for current trivia comments only. I really thought complaints and bragging should be posted in the Complaining Bragging Forum. With each finished trivia there also seems to be alot of posts here saying -I won the last trivia- which pushes comments about the current trivia down off of the page. shrugs
Anyway, good luck to everyone with this trivia question!
after i answered with the wrong answer and saw the katana.. it hit me the answer had to be in the purchase price, you don't see descriptions at all when purchasing.. trivia was worded well.. and again.. kudo's.. i thought it was very clever....
What happens is that, every time a new Trivia is added, we get 3-6 sort of copycat style questions. But some of them are quite good, so we use them as well. ![]()
It wasn't a random discussion in the Forums (although it might have been mentioned there as well). It was in the News comments a week or so ago. Once again, the Trivias are TRIVIA questions, honestly, a lot fewer people are supposed to get them right than have been. 2K and 3K winners per question is a giveaway, not a Trivia. From now on they will be back to what they were intended to be from the beginning. If you're unhappy with the current questions, then, by all means, suggest your own.
I never seem to see any in there from the most vocal complainers.
LooneyLupeGirl, as I've said time and again, the key was during purchasing the item, so there is really only the one correct answer. And, I'm bot sure what lyric guessing whatever it is you're referring to, but that question had been sitting in there for days.
Mascquarin, yes, the question had to be modified, because the way OrnWolfy had originally worded it, it said once popular band, rather than song. So that obviously needed to be corrected. Other than that it was the same question.
No, you're misunderstanding. The key was make you think of a once popular song specifically during purchasing. Other items fo not have specific set purchase prices. Many of the other possibilities listed are nursery rhymes or Christmas carols, which do not qualify as "once popular", which implies a greater degree of popularity a certain time.
god... i can't believe how old these comments make me feel. 867-5309 ..... thanks for getting that stuck in my head!!! hit by the same trivia twice shakes fist
Woohoo, I finally found it! If only I'd found the last answer aswell...
LOL Too true ![]()
ROFL ... if your confused by them, we are in trouble ... LOL
lol @ the commas questions... funny thing is, I was asking myself the same question ![]()
Well, id heard of the song, and thats what it is .. a SONG, and, I CAN see it as a possible answer now. BUT, I still see SEVERAL items that could also EASILY be the answer. And although it was said earlier, some of the items i posted cant be purchased. Ok, not true ..ANY item on the site can be purchased, if someone sold it .. the fact is some of those items cant be RSed ..which was NOT the question. The Balloons, A Telenine Christmas (which i used) the Zodiac Boots, Lamb hand Puppet, Christmas Tree Alarm Clock. Im all for clever trivias, but im more about trivias with ONE answer
And YES, also said, those items dont make you think of a song ..they do if you hover them and read.
w00t. I'm pretty sure I got this one. Thank you, brain, for knowing things. Without you, I would never be able to answer any Trivias. -hugs brain-
Yeah, the commas would be anybody's guess. lol
Ok, I found the answer to the latest, but am horrible confused about one thing... why are there commas in the question?
Event! I'm sorry, but your answer of bag of balloons for the trivia was incorrect. .......
Ok that is total BS.. If you look at the bag of balloons it has a 99 on it and a red balloon image on it which makes one think ok the song "99 Luff Balloons".. ..... So that should have been a right answer also.. .... And to have an item priced after a stupid song called "Jenny" (the 8765309 song) after watching a show where they have to name the missing lyric and that just happened to be one of the songs on the show is also BS.. Not that many people have ever heard that stupid Jenny song.. ..... Yes I am pissed off over all the not clearly worded trivias lately.... That dang minion has been in my WL since the very 1st time it was used months ago and yet once again it was the prize to a poorly worded trivia that had more then one CORRECT answer.
I totally agree with you Skitty. A person also should not have to have been a part of a random discussion that took place in the forums to answer a trivia. I think that is quite unfair. Poor form Subeta. Actually I've been quite irritated with a few of the recent trivias.
Honestly, it seemed like it would have been a good trivia. When the item was released, the news comments were full of people talking about the song. ( 867-5309 [Jenny], as was stated)
So....yea..
I have no idea what song the last one was referring to, and spent hours searching the DB without finding anything that looked likely before giving up. So after all that it was the price? How is 867whatever even supposed to mean anything? What song is that? What clue did we have that that series of numbers was anything other then mashing ones hand on the keyboard? Let me say this: "subeta related" trivias that require obscure real world knowledge are NOT good at all.
DX I can't find this one at all. sigh At least I don't want the prize that bad.
Please just make a real trivia for once.
we posted at the same time XP
Mascquarin-the description when purchasing it meant..the price..8675309..you see that price when you buy it and if the song is in your head you would recognize the number, therefore sing the song(sorta)
I still dont see how the description of the Katana might make me want to sing a song while purchasing it. Where did /that/ come from? Maybe more people need to submit trivia possibilities so they will have some sensical options to select...that one was poor.
It was described a different way, and Subeta modified it quite a bit before putting up their own version of the question. It was very different than the way Ornwolfy had asked.
Pfff I live in Poland so it was the first time I've heard there IS a song 8675-something when someone posted the answer when the trivia was over xD haha. I got this one though
Like Andro said, it's not that hard, yet satisfying xD
Weird, I knew that was the song, but I didnt know what item was related to it or how.. xD shoot. Anyways, at least the current trivia was easy for me this time.
YES!!! I /knew/ I had the last one right. =D I'm so glad I checked out that forum a few weeks ago. Some people were discussing it and I was like, "Oh, that's pretty cool. I never noticed that." And then the Trivia came and I was like, "Ha! I know that!" w00t. ^^
This one was actually really easy for me
I didnt even think to look at the prices for the last one..otherwise I wouldve gotten that one right off the bat lol..I grew up listening to that song..and I saw that vh1 special also..some girl actually had that phone number and ironically enough her name was also jenny..she had to change the number because she kept getting calls from random people.
I got it ![]()
I've never heard of the song.
I guessed Wibblephant because the item description is 'Jessie the camel has..two humps!'. Which is a well known numerical ditty from my childhood.
(Although it was Sally, not Jessie) That one seemed to fit perfectly to me.
Arg, this kind of trivia again x.x
xD I knew the answer to this one as soon as I looked at it. -shot-
I liked this one. It wasn't very hard, but it was satisfying once you got it done.
I got it. Yay.
Wow, I was just about to give up on this trivia...I've been looking for about 4 hours. lol But I just found it...yay! ![]()
lol, I've never heard of the song, of course.
I was -9 years old in 1982 lol So I didn't get the last one, but this time I'm quite sure I've got the right answer. At last. I've been searching for an hour.. oO
Gah! I -knew- the last trivia dealt with that song. I had 8-6-7-5-3-0-9 stuck in my head for hours because of it. Unfortunately, I had no clue how to find the answer. ![]()
I remember having one like this before... problem is I couldn't figure out that one either!
Wow... I've never even heard of that song. But even if I had, I never would have thought to look at prices of items, I would likely have guessed one of the phones or something. Kudos to those of you who were able to figure it out!
Event! I'm sorry, but your answer of pointy golden pumps for the trivia was incorrect. [x] ;~; Crap. I really wanted that Shard Yce. Oh well. goes to look at the next trivia
Yep .. pretty sure I found the new one
took a while tho..lol
and as for the last one I put Zodiak Fantasy Buckled Boots.. because of the description I started to sing the ole, one two buckle my shoe three four shut the door..lol
