The Dragarth has been given a makeover! :)

Eesh eesh. Relaxation is a good thing. Sniping never helps. Just remember everyone is human, and sometimes things don't come across in the proper tone via the text on the internets. 8U Now I go to bed. G'night.

No spite. I'm too tired for spite.
I really want some ice cream...

And yeah, Leap--I was looking at the old colors while figuring out the new ones, and it creeped me out to have a wall of dragarths leering at me.

I do like the facial expressions better. The last ones looked like they were grimacing to me. XD

First thing's first, Kitty, Your icon makes me giggle. It cheered me up even more, but besides that...

I kinda missed alot of Kabuto's comments, and tried to avoid the fight that had taken place, but as I had seen you had good crits. Just, a few unnamed other people got all angry. I guess we can't help people that may be in a bad mood, but you handled fairly well. And, on the same note, it's when people make huge angry comments that everyone gets pumped and everyone starts arguing. I guess it can't be helped, because, as I have said, no one is perfect. But I like how everything calmed down quite well :3

I did. I strongly advise that everyone get delicious ice cream (and the aforementioned sense of humor as well to go with their comments.
And it's cool! I just know I sometimes come off as frothing at the people I mean no harm to. XD So.

Yes, we can be done with it. The old ones looked like ass and the new ones, despite any flaws people might want to claim they have, are a vast improvement.

Four, we almost left the smirk on--taking it off was actually a last minute decision, because thought it looked really awkward, so we tried it without.
We liked the resulting version better, so it stuck.

Or play with a pet or something. Something other than sitting here and complaining about something that can't be changed now. I think that criting without being a total jerk about it is the best way to go. I mean, some of you act as if you're offended by the revamp and Chim's art in general. I mean, jeez, not everything and not everyone is perfect, and not everything will change to your demands. I respect those of you that criticized with manners, not just pointing out every little bit that you didn't like. I like how you took this, Corona. If it wasn't 12 AM here, I'd get ice cream myself. xD

I'm sorry that giving personal opinions is suddenly frowned upon, I just did what I do at every revamp, state what I like and fealt could be improved. Also, at the time I stated my Crits I was unaware that this was not up for voting ^^;; but, none the less, I'm sorry that my honesty was so frowned upon, but its deffinately not worth all this drama everyone is making about it...

I love those wings. The color revamps are gorgeous. My biggest question though...is the Darkmatter Dragarth going to be revamped as well? (or is that all hush-hush we can't tell you?) XD

I personally love the DM Dragarth as it is. It happens to by my favorite DM pet on the site...so I was just curious. =3

Great job on the revamp though Chim. ^^ I didn't very much care for the old regular position...but this one is cute. ^^ pets

looks at old one Yup, I like the new one better After reading previous posts I though there were huge changes but I don't see any O_o The wings are fuller in the new version, but I think they're prettier this way

INTERNET ARGUMENT

Having gotten that out of my blood, guys, if your first response to seeing the newspost is to explode in a flurry of...whatever, just step away from the computer and get ice cream. I have ice cream. It's very nice.

It's also left me in a very rational state about this whole thing. X)

One thing I don't think you guys are particularly aware of is the fact that Chim's an artist as her day job. I know, Subeta is unpaid work, but she does this stuff "professionally" as well as "for fun". And one big thing professional artists have to be able to do is go "well, I know this isn't entirely perfect, but it never will be, time to let it go" about their projects, because they're working on a clock (time = money, dontchaknow). However, the past trend with revamp polls has been for a small subset of users to scream about every last little exacting detail of the proposed revamp (or that the staff have the GALL to want to revamp things and try to, I don't know, improve the quality of stuff around the site because we're not That Other Pet Site and flat cel-shaded art doesn't cut it), to the point the artists (and non-art staff) want to kill all of us so we'll just shut up. Looking at it this way, I completely understand why this one did NOT go to poll.

And, yes, there's probably still problems with it (nothing is EVER perfect) because or in spite of that; no, it doesn't look like the old Dragarth because it's up to the newer art standard that everything's being updated to; BUT...it's here. At this point, no amount of wailing, wibbling, or invective will make it go back onto the drawing board (unless Chimaera decides it's worthwhile to give it another go), so get in your one comment to let off the steam and then let it go.

And get some damn ice cream, jeez.

The dragarths being fuzzy has always intrigued me--mainly because they seem the closest to "true" western dragons out of all the pets, but they're...well, fuzzy. XD

Then again, I've seen a lot of fuzzy/mammalian dragons nowadays, so maybe it's not that uncommon anymore.
(I personally like them best with scales, but that's me. )

I love the redraw of the Dragarth, thanks for doing it for us. I never would have considered getting one in the past, but now I'm wondering if I might get one. Sure, there may be minor things that look a bit off or weird, but I thought the old one looked more off and weird, lol.

...I didn't think of it before, but the head fluff seems a bit A Flock of Seagulls, doesn't it? X3 and to those that commented that this Dragarth seems to furry to be a dragon - remember the Luck Dragon from Never-Ending Story? I seem to remember it having fur (and scales, but I'm trying to prove a point here XD).

December 31, 1969, 7:00 pm by Deleted User

The art of this site is a major reason I keep coming back. That's why, personally, I enjoy seeing things updated. It keeps everything crisp and fresh, unlike other places that use the same art for 390420902 billion years.

Different poses, thicker lines, different perspective, who cares? It's still the same pet, isn't it? The same personality and all.

In conclusion, hey dragarths, you're so fine, you're so fine you blow my mind. clap hey dragarths.

"But again--you don't know what steps were taken to get to this point, and simply assuming I took no critique, and I uploaded this at a whim is foolhardy. "

So, to be 'enlightened', us finding other things that MIGHT be off should be ignored because this was already looked over? That sounds pretty ridiculous in my opinion. We shouldn't speak up because two other people looked over it, and there's no possible way they could have missed something? It's done, we get it, but that doesn't mean we'll sit here and say nothing. If we point things out maybe it'll be fixed later on.

And yes, I said I was done posting, but that made me mad. I really am done now. logs off

Well it's obvious you did take crits, but your prior comments had been perceived as snappy and maybe even a bit egotistical? Personally I don't know what you're really like, so that's the impression I got :/ I'm sorry. Just being truthful.

This is were I get worried we will lose our commenting priveledges... Remember like we did for the potion lottery and other such news posts. I, personally, love reading and posting what I like and dislike about certain pieces of art - but take it too far and we will no longer be able to openly discuss matters like this anymore.

That said although I critiqued this picture the new dragarth is lovely and those that don't like it can quite easily change there pet.

Well, That may be true, Windsong, but eventually there is need for change, and change comes. I mean, if we don't like the new look, then we don't have to keep/get the pet, right? We can even totally avoid it if we like. We don't HAVE to get it, nor do we have to like it. I guess I see some things that could be improved and changed, but I'm sure more than one person has already pointed out what needs change, so I don't really think criting now would do much.

You know, the head doesn't bother me in the slightest. It's simply perspective - I remember people complaining that the revamped Bloodred Telenine looked fat. It was just the positioning.

I just wish the chest fur on the Golden Dragarth wasn't so dark, I liked the creamy look of it. That's my ONLY problem with the revamp.

Everyone thinks sitting and yelling their critiques will get it changed, I'm sure.
But see, the thing is, it's done. It's gone through. I very well -may- take some of the comments to heart for the next versions, but I've already sat and watched how people act with this countless times over the past year.
I can either sit and hold my tongue and say nothing, or speak my mind. I'm tired of holding my tongue. So alright, if you have to think of me as "not a true artist" (which by the way, I -am- going to take personally, because it IS a personal attack, thanks) or anything else to make you happy in lieu of us tearing this down and changing it to your liking, that's fine.
But again--you don't know what steps were taken to get to this point, and simply assuming I took no critique, and I uploaded this at a whim is foolhardy.

So are we done now?

December 31, 1969, 7:00 pm by Deleted User

"Ohpleasedon'tletthissitemakeallpetscutseylikeacertainothersite. The art is better, but the cutseyness cringe"

I have to agree. =/ Most of us chose our pets because we liked the way they looked -originally-, as we fell in love with the personalities that their looks exuded...these pet redraws are not an enjoyable aspect for the site for me, personally. There are other areas that perhaps need more attention.

No flaming please folks, just an opinion.
