This is a Channel 5 Action News special report!

Centropolis billionaire and playboy philanthropist Dominic Saggitarius has generously persuaded Channel 5 News to conduct a press release on his behalf. The handsome and powerful mogul is known mainly for his presidency at the Millionaire Center and his Councilorship of Centropolis, but who can forget his great history with dragon hunting? It's known he's on the lookout for recruits to join his new expedition in the Omen Islands, and we're delighted to hear from him today.

Hey, it’s me, your best friend Blake! I know that you’ve been eagerly awaiting whatever exciting adventure that I’ve got in store for you this time, and you can’t wait to get an all new, promotional Steele Excavations shovel! Hah, just kidding, I promise that there will be no digging this time.

If Blake had greeted us with "howdy" instead of "hey" for "Hey, it’s me, your best friend Blake!" I might have joined his team.
As it stands I'm totally going for Team Gold because if you add "en Flower" to the end of that team name, you get friendliness pellets. x)

Dang though and also the fact that Saggitarius appears to be a lot more orderly and sophisticated than Blake, who seems rather impulsive and just "go with the flow" mode. Which isn't necessarily a bad thing, but organization appeals more to me. And I could absolutely use more sP right now as I'm a little broke haha. x'D Team Gold for the win!

At this point I'm still weighing the pros and cons. Like, on one hand it's an obvious sp sink because they're mentioning pay outs up front (then again pay outs may not be actual sp but instead are event currency), but there seems to be more of a perk for Blake's team because you dont get worn out as much AND dont have to replenish resources as much and can therefore 'adventure' more. But that also begs the question how much of an SP sink is this SP sink and will the extra pay outs make up for the fact that we'll be slower and run out faster? idek.

I'm going with the outright asshole who at least promises payment even if the work conditions are bad, rather than the asshole who thinks "paying" you "in experience" is ever acceptable :P

If they do have Saggi and Blake acting like that, having the Islanders being upset at all the non-Islanders coming and fucking their land and artifacts up could be a good plot point. I mean, it had BETTER be, if that happens. I hope that: a) it'll be made clear that what we're doing is okay with the Islanders OR b) the Islanders being rightfully pissed off will be part of the plot. Maybe we can be like "fuck this, I'm gonna go help the Islanders defend their land from you two and your lackeys"

I saw, maybe 2-3 post about it in the recruitment threads. I didn't see a reply about it, but I might have missed one. (Those threads are pretty long.) I was just imagining something like: Saggi: These golden statues are not doing anyone any good out here. They would be of much better use if they were melted into cuff links or coins or toilets.

Blake: What? Those gross, old bones were important? They had cobwebs all over them! I just had someone else throw them in the volcano.

Cue Islanders getting upset, since their culture isn't well understood and, you know, they live there. But, maybe we're off to one of the uninhabited places that they don't care about? Who knows? It was just the first thing I thought of, instead of 'Oh sweet, ADVENTURE.' :p I'm no fun.

Okay so I left for a while, thought about it a bit and the more I think about it the more I feel like this is a freelancer horror story. Either you go with a client that has an attitude problem and will be absolutely horrible to you and overwork you but at least you get paid at the end of it. Or, you work for a nice, friendly client that asks you to shell out your own money to fund their project and they mostly pay you 'in experience'. I am concerned. And it kind of feels like this decision actually has a right or wrong choice depending on what we're doing and we just dont know at this point. I hope I choose correctly or I'm going to be kicking myself later.

I don't know who I'm going to choose at this point but I would really love some more information before I make that choice. (And maybe an end date for registration? Please?). I'm overthinking this, aren't I.

Shit, I didn't even think of that, I hope that will be addressed. The staff seem to listen to suggestions about that kind of concern instead of mocking it as "political correctness" - it's one reason I like Subeta, like how they got rid of things that used the g*psy slur in the name. So hopefully the Islanders will feature in the plot? I would have joined an Islander-run team over the others if there was one...
