I was dealing about 200-350 damage for her every other turn or so. I figured hey, I don't have the sP to spend willy nilly, so good enough for me; I'll bone this out until about 5-10k, no bigs. And then, out of no where, she's literally healing 1K EVERY time and blocking 10 of each icon -- which is confusing that I'm doing 0 damage, because I'm dealing about 10-15 DM, fire, or etc. icons. So shouldn't 1-5 of those be landing? I just... I'm not understanding. but I went from doing 200-350 of damage to literally doing 0 every single time now. :
Do I have to do the portion crap though ? It seems pointless.
ugh I think I'd rather miss out on the end-of-event prizes related to the world boss.

Yeah, I feel you! (It'd be nice to know if there were achievements for some of this!) Luckily I just hit 'new ingredients' until I got something under 500k total, since that's chump change if you do daily quests - I feel a little better about it now XD

I honestly have no idea if I dealt any damage or not? I just want to know if I counted as "participating"...
I assume it's the 'non-battler portion' of the plot, so it DOES do something - but you don't actually get a weapon out of it, if that's what you're asking (:
I withdrew 2 mil thinking, hey, the elixers might be a bit pricey and so is that healer. I had no idea I'd actually spend 1.3 of that fulfilling two of those Conner-Mathis subquests.
I'm thinking Kilroy has done about 20k in damage so far. I'm not stopping until he's done at least 100k.

right?? i'm like, oh cool, so less powerful battlers can get a special weapon specifically for fighting the boss, okay, i'll do it! and then it's like… nope sorry did i say "for you"? because i meant "not for you, not for anyone, the weapon isn't actually real and it never was and this is all just a ploy to get users to spend sP for no reason and it's not even a sink because who's gonna wait around to restock elixirs, just buy that shit from user shops."
Wait, so we don't even get an actual item out of this? That's super misleading. Oh well. I'll tell you if something is different for the hour long wait, probably not but you never know.
Yeah, there's been a lot of ambiguous statements made along the way, and some of the things we're being asked to do are being asked of us without any kind of reason WHY. It's literally 'just do it because I said so'. It'd be nice to have things written in a clearer way, to prevent stuff like that. X: (I think I spent about 400-500k as well)

actually, it's probably worse than something because she flippin… heals 1000 every time i hit her, so really i'm doing negative damage. i guess i should stop or else i'll just be making it harder for everyone else.
also, i totally misunderstood that weapon thing. i thought we actually GOT the "special weapon" we helped make… if i'd known it would just be magically "sent to the frontlines" i probably wouldn't have spent over 700k on ingredients…
The lack of overall clarity throughout the plot is getting really frustrating ):
Hnnn I thought this would give me a temp weapon to do battle with and THAT is how underleveled/non battlers could participate.
Turns out this isn't quite the case? I'm directed to go get a new recipe for a new weapon. So.. non battling is spending lots of SP and waiting around thumbs twiddling. OK lol.
I'll just keep smashing my pet's face against this lady for a measly 100+ dmg instead.
Just saw Luck's post below mine but I got no message about the weapon being "sent to the battlefront" but at least I guess I didn't waste the money after all. ugh A little better communication with this would prevent confusion and frustration.
I don't play LOL so I dunno but the fish challengers Lui and Ta were a reference to the Avatar series so Kiyo might be a reference to LOL :)
Getting pretty annoyed here. First time I did the recipe with Mathis, I used some fire items and got the time down to 7 minutes. After that time passed, NOTHING. I got no weapon and he said I needed to bring him items like I'd never done it. So that's about 600k sP down the drain. So now I've gone through another round going to Connor and back to Mathis and this time I just clicked the "wait an hour" option even though I really need to go to bed. So now I have to stay up and wait. It better work this time.
Ah, okay, I just finished the sidequest with connor and mathis. You don't actually get a weapon, you take the ingredients to Mathis, and he makes the weapon (you can make it go faster by stoking the fire with items that contain the word fire) and when it's done, he says it's been sent to the battlefront and you can get more ingredients to start over.
She's such a pretty world Boss! I hope she sticks around like Tempest!

You can stoke the fire with any item with the word fire in it. I used
"Our hour of need"
They did say this was going to be in stages, with breaks in between. So maybe this first stage is only for an hour?
