Subetapedia: Pet Lore

After all these years, we figured it was time to pay some much deserved attention to the history of our ringleaders. Have you ever wondered how big our pets are, or a bit about their demeanor? Think you know how to pronounce their names? Well think again!

Now, we begin the unveiling of <a href=http://subeta.net/subetapedia/index.php?act=view_cat&id=11>the lore of our pets! We hope you'll enjoy the beginning of what will soon be a vast encyclopedia of information spanning across all of Subeta (how do you pronounce that anyway?) For now, dig into 10 of our most popular pets!

I was thinking maybe I wasn't as much a fan of my Spectrum Kora until I read these. Awesome <333 Makes me want to play around with my Kora's story and design more instead of just throwing in the towel on it :)

: I would say "JAH" is the sound the jo makes in the word "jolly", when you think of how it rolls off your tongue? So in my mind that means Jollin is pronounced like Jolly, but with "in" instead of the y. I could be wrong, but that's how phonetically I'd see the JAH making sense.

Always had Kora pegged as an aquatic species myself so that one was an interesting read. c:

I'd like to see info on the various colours pets come in. We've got details here on typical pet temperaments, and a number of the potions seem to have their own personalities. Most Glade pets look calm. Spectrum and Blacklight come across as playful. Darkmatter varies a lot, and while most Angelic pets seem good natured, we've got the Mortiking destroying its own wings and the Charlie wearing fake ones.

It'd be fun to have some lore on how all the colours were developed or discovered, and how they affect different pet species. :)

YAHOO! x3 Just a quick note, is there a height/weight/body length difference between male and female Tigreans? I assume the weight of a Tigrean is close to that of a lion or tiger irl.

Overall, I love this lore! This is exactly what I wanted, and the Subetapedia revamp looks so much better!!! x3

Oh lordy, I love this so much I can't even put it in words. Size comparison is amazing! Also really happy that the measurements are both in metric and imperial. :'D No need to run to Google for the conversions.

FINALLY some good foundations for folks who want a strictly Subeta-based pet character!

Oh, I'd also like to add something interesting. I've seen Japanese users pronounce it as "su-be-ta" (soo-beh-tah) in katakana anyway... So if anyone was curious, I don't think they would mind. If it's going to be official.

Nickey, I'm almost positive Subeta means a word that starts with B.. and rhymes with twitch. haha. I totally prefer Su-bay-ta but I've always pronounced it like Sub-etta

To Yuzu and Tserel - Yuzu's actually partly right. Waay, way back in the ol', ol' golden days, someone mistook the Japanese word "subeta" for the meaning of "sword". But there was a bit of a mix-up. It came from "espada" which means sword, but it's actually used as a vulgar insult. (I can't remember how that came to be, but it's like 1 AM and I don't feel like looking haha) It's also some term in a card game, but that's totally something else, blah blah.

I hope this isn't something I shouldn't be telling people because such error used to be stated on the About page. I was positive! It's an honest and easy mistake to make, anyway.

Honestly, I'd love for it to be pronounced differently now, like "sew-bay-ta". It's kinda cuter.

Great job, those profiles were interesting to read. I do hope that pets like Legeica, Anyu, Tutani and the draconic pets are larger than the pets in this first batch, it'd be odd to have bite-sized whales and such :P

I forgot to mention this, but this is such a great resource for understanding scale on pets. A lot of them are surprisingly small. I wouldn't have expected Lain to be songbird-sized, but there was never a place to actually see how big they really were.

FANTASTIC GUYS! This was so great to read, what really got me is that 8 of my pets are designed after my real life cats and the Darkonite and Tigrean personalities is EXACTLY as my real life kids, so happy with that! Again well done and can't wait for the Feli and Terracoon (used a chibi one for my youngest cat lol) lore.
