Good luck Kat, I hope the trip is great, the wedding goes smoothly, and you have some FUN!
Berry, that sounds so fun! I like having people over.. I think? Maybe I don't always like having people over... :P
I do like the burst of energized cleaning that comes with it, though!
Haha, for sure, having people over is nice sometimes! If people turn up unexpectedly that's usually no bueno :P it does take energy but I like being home so it's a win for me to have a friend come over. Means I don't have to go places! Fully agree also it's nice having a cleaning motivator!
And yes, we had fun! Chatted over mango and tea. She said the flat felt cozy too. I agree, I feel really comfy in this place, it's nice to have it confirmed by visitors :D
Awww, that sounds so nice though, to have someone confirm that your house is cozy. There's really nothing better than that, I think!
I got home and did my dailies here and then immediately went outside and cleaned up some wood from around the house.. which actually was quite a lot.. I filled both wheelbarrows and two sleds. And the one wheelbarrow again haha. All this because I wanted to get my glider out.. which I didn't even do, because I was waiting for Alex because it's HEAVYYYYYY.
And then we ate dinner and went to church.. I had work, but I was also the youth group helper tonight, and it was their annual egg hunt. I raelly do enjoy watching teeangers absolutely flat out RUN for eggs :P
Yes, that definitely does sound like a lot of fun, watching teenagers race for their eggs!
And good job on cleaning up wood, that sounds like a physical job, and then filling multiple wheelbarrows as well! When you say glider, do you mean a model airplane?
It's Friday! I'm gonna head in to the office later today, exceptionally. There's supposed to be drinks (and likely one or two speeches) at the office at 5, and nobody from my team is going, I basically offered myself up as a sacrificial lamb haha. I'm mostly curious to see how many people will turn up. Organising this after work hours on a Friday seems like a terrible idea to me! So my motivation in going is to judge the proceedings and drink some orange juice :D
good morning from North Carolina!! we got here around 1130. left my house at like 6am, there was one accident on a twisty foad that stopped us for like 30 minutes but we made it safe.
tried to go hang out with my mom and brother but she never sent the address for rhe airbnb until i was at dinner with katie and everyone. so we grabbed some bbq for lunch and hung out with ryan instead. after rehearsal and dinner, we stopped in my dads hotel room as its right next door then came to ours relaxed a while and went to sleep.
plan to go visit mom/brothers a while this morning.
Glad to hear you made it safe despite an accident! Have fun with the family :D and yes it's important to take time to relax also, when you can <3
Glad you made it safe, Kat!
No Berry, my glider like.. a rocker, but instead of rocking back and forth, it just glides. It's like a bench on springs, kind of?
El picked Izy up last night for a weekend sleepover, just dropped Lily off at the school so she can go to jazzfest. Concert tonight! Then tomorrow she needs to be at the school at 6:30 for FBLA states, she'll come back Wednesday. They're spending tomorrow at Hershey Park though, so that'll be fun.. and the hotel they're staying at has an indoor waterpark, so they get to do that after the events are done for the day.. so that's very fun!
Today.. we're replacing the wax rings on teh toilets, apparently, since the upstairs one is now leaking. Which like.. ew.
Oh no! That definitely sounds unpleasant, erk. Hopefully it is quickly fixed! But in much more pleasant news, the concert, rollercoasters AND waterpark program sounds like a lot of activity, good for those with lots of energy haha :D
I say that as I am procrastinating going to the gym. Trying to scrape together some motivation for that as we speak.
And that glider of yours sounds interesting! You bring it outside when it gets warm to lounge?
In Subeta news - just got the last thing I needed from the Token shop (a plushie I was still missing), yay!
I made it home. got the car returned (with apparently no issue, either they didn't care about the ding in the windshield or didnt' notice it, or maybe it was even there before and I didnt' see it until after I heard something hit the car!) But I got my email receipt and all is good.
I got a lot of pictures from the reception, but I didn't take any at the actual ceremony part, as there was a professional photographer doing pictures. I'll post them on facebook later to share when Katie says its ok (I'm sure she will but want to ask in case she wants us to wait until she posts her own or something).
Got to see two of my brothers and their wives, three of my nephews, including my nephew with the baby (My great nephew Max!! Sweet baby boy!! Almost a year old!! :o How did that happen???) He was the most popular person besides the bride and groom giggles My mom and dad and papa and Kathe were here too (both sets of my parents in other words). Ryans dad and stepmom came also, but didn't stay for the reception. Katie gathered all of us into one big family photo and I am SO GETTING A COPY OF THAT and too damn bad Shane isn't in it. Its going on my family wall anyway!!
[edit] Sunday 930am I tried last night to upload a photo of bride and groom on legacy and on kumos and it kept saying invalid. Eh. Sorry to those who aren't on facebook, but I'll try again later. Maybe I can link one of the facebook photos.
Anyway. I went to bed last night around 10. Woke up I dunno when to use the bathroom, felt awake but still tired, so laid back down w/o looking at the time. Woke up again at EIGHT AM! :o I slept in! Then I got up and got dressed and all so I could run up to the grocery store and get some stuff. Now I'm home, and plan to relax as much as I can today - as Shane now wants to get picked up this afternoon so he can come do laundry at my house - and Anna said last week she wants to meet up to give me the computer - but hasn't given me a time yet -I'm not asking her, if she says something to me today, I'll go, if not, I don't care.
Kat, I know I already told you but they looked GORGEOUS, both of them. And Katie looked SO happy!
I'd put it on the wall too, Shane could have made the effort to be at his sisters wedding LOL.
That IS a long time of sleep for you! That's awesome, though!
Thanks!! They both really dress up nicely!! And they are a beautiful couple <3
I was so surprised, I woke up, saw light, and said Dang it, Nathan didn't turn the light off...then looked at the time and was like Ooooh oops. Nope thats sunlight!!
I just mowed the lawn. I knew it needed it after all the rain last week. I could have just not done it today and waited but eh. Why not. So I did.
[edit]

Whew! I managed it. Katie and Wes - first dance!
What a beautiful shot! Lovely first dance, I like the dramatic sleeves a lot too. Thanks for sharing Kat! Hope you had a good time! :D
She sewed those herself!! The lace flowers at the end of the sleeves are from my Mamas dress - the wedding dress my Gramma made (my moms mom), that my mom wore when she married my dad, and I wore when I married Katies dad :) <3 She used the flowers on the lace of the train. She didn't like the sleeves that came with the dress. So made her own <3 She's amazing.
Aw that's wonderful! Lovely to be crafty, just make your dreams come true with your own two hands. I only dabbled in sewing, mostly fixing up things, which is also very useful, but making something yourself seems more intimidating!
Morning from Europe, my Monday started a bit bumpy 😆 managed to forget my work badge at home so had to double back home and spend a lot of extra time in transit, whew. But I did find my badge and make it to the office! Counting it as a win.
Had a funky nightmare where I dreamed I got a bill to pay of 50K. I would only be fine with that if it's Subeta money, yikes.
Yes!! She's always been crafty. And she has an art degree. So she took lots of various artsy classes and some sort of sewing class was apparently one of them? :P In college. She really only dabbles in it, but she's pretty good at making some things and fixing things. She's best at drawing/painting, by hand and digitally - she designs logos and images for her karate studio she works at, and other places the owner owns (he has various businesses). I think thats cool!! :D
Oooh no!! So sorry you had to double back and have extra transit time!! And what a dream. No No No, no huge bills to pay - right? Unless like you said, subeta money!! LOL I could pay off so much with subeta money (or monopoly money, by golly!!! I have a TON of that!!)
Thank you Kat, I appreciate the sympathy for my Monday plights 😄 and it's true, large surprise bills are the worst! Luckily it was just a dream, but maybe it's related to the medical supplies bill that is currently sitting on my desk unopened. That one is not a surprise, happens quarterly, and my insurance will cover most of it... so not quite as much existential dread as I dreamed, but maybe my subconscious was feeling dramatic.
Being artsy is really cool! I dabbled a bit in digital art, one year I drew over pictures of family members and gifted them the resulting digital drawings, but I've not been practicing and there's technical considerations (like shading) that I never tried to learn!
Now that I'm on here I was thinking maybe I should get back to practicing. It would be awesome to draw something for Subeta! But I do lack some technical knowledge to do it. I do have artsy friends that could help me out with that though, so really all I need to do is practice. So far I've just been doing some daydreaming 😂
Daydreaming is nice :) I do that a lot and thats just my life LOL But some dreams do manage to come true.
I just booked a student loan exit counseling session - they had two group ones but both at a time I could not attend, so I emailed to ask if there was a recorded version or anything, and he replied I could do an individual session. I like to have ALL the info I can on anything before I start - my student loans are only a little over $12,000 - but I have no idea what the monthly payment would be, what type of repayment option is best for me (I've looked at them on the federal loan site) and I am debating trying to get into the program where the loan is forgiven if I wokr 5 years at a title one school - which my whole county is - but I found out they only forgive UP TO $5k. So that would be helpful, but I'd have to put off paying anything for 5 years, and I feel that in 5 years I might already have most of it paid off if I just PAY it .... so ???? Who knows! But since I have a dr apt at 3 on Wed, I booked a session for 1pm for that on Wed, since I'll get off work at 1115am that day.
Yes, a little daydreaming can be very nice :D
Sounds like a busy wednesday is ahead of you! Best of luck for the doctor's appointment, I need to book a vet appointment for my cat, I've been putting it off a bit because of the finances. But I want to do it before we leave town for three days next month. Vet appointments feel more stressful, my cat does not understand why she has to go through that unpleasantness. At least when I go to the doctor I know why :P
And I hope they can clarify that bit with the student loans, it sounds complicated!
I'm taking the dog on Sunday to a travelling pet clinic - to get her weighed for her flea control. I don't think she is due for her rabies shot. Thats the only required shots here in Georgia where I live. She doesn't like getting shots. She's ok being weighed. If she does need her shot, she'll end up being muzzled. I hate it for her, like you said, the poor thing doesn't understand whats going on, shes in a strange place, with strange people and other animals, plus someone poking and prodding her.... poor baby - I always give some treats when we are done.
Yeah, thats what I am hoping for, the clarification on what exactly can be done...so I can decide the best way for me to pay them off. I also want to find out if I can start paying early, rather than wait until December, because if I can, surely that means less interest? I dunno. I mean, I am pretty sure I could have been paying on them all this time since I got the first one 2 1/2 years ago - but I didn't have any extra money, and now I will have a little, and in July/August I will have a good bit more with the income increase. Why wait until December/Jan to begin paying if I am going to be paying anyway?
Absolutely, treats post-vet are important! :D
And it makes sense to me that you would rather start paying it off sooner rather than later. Less time generally should equal less interest!
I'm sooo tired. I'm heading home to take a nap. Left the office early because already at lunch I felt I needed a nap and there's no way I would've been at all productive staying any longer. Yawn! Still managed to be productive today though. So that feels nice.
