Just wanted to note that "Smart Restocking Schedule" functionality is quite broken - r99s are showing up in some shops (e.g. book nook) every day, sometimes multiple times a day. Certainly not once a month. I just picked up 25 different r99 books while checking book nook, and I'm 99% sure I got most of these yesterday too, as did a friend who posted a screenshot of what she got (after your changes had been implemented).
🌑🌒🌓🌔🌕🌖🌗🌘🌑
Only 12 copies of an r99 going out per year isn't workable for a lot of the shops, it just isn't.
In book I restock those every day and they get bought every day from my shop consistently. People buy hundreds and hundreds and thousands of books and foods and plushies and beanbags from other users because they don't have the time/frankly desire to restock them for themselves. That's how the economy works here. Something like each user only being able to buy one per day would be much more preferable. Even if the frequency was lowered, having it per user would be preferable to only having one per month site-wide.
I was trying to figure out if that meant that 1 r99 would stock per month (a crazy standard) or if it meant that each r99 would stock once a month.
That being said, a ton of r99s have stocked in the last 24hours, i've probably restocked 40+ out of various shops.

Honestly…thank you so much for making much needed changes. Removing the pages, and the rarity filter - this is game changing. 😭
Some small little tweaks that i can suggest:
Sort by item id - much like legacy shops. Having this option would make restocking a lot more comfortable, i feel, for us who are used to restocking on legacy.
An indicator of whether we have reached our item limit for the day on an item, other than just refreshing the page without purchasing.
Perhaps a system that works a lot like the legacy shops - common items restocking in greater quantity amounts (3+ of one item, for example, instead of just one), and rarer items stocking one or two at a time. Common items, i feel, should not only have one in stock. They are “common”, after all. c: maybe having a lower variety of items, but more of each item.
Moving the “last restocked x minutes ago” blurb to the top of the page.
Beautiful job though so far, keith. Really. This is amazing. 😭 and i say that as an avid restocker. Thank you so much for listening to us and using our feedback. ♥️ we appreciate you.
These are all great suggestions, would make it a lot easier. Also, some kind of indicator/confirmation of purchase or non-purchase would be awesome!
Only a single r99 per month is by far too steep. And I'm seeing more of a single one each day... The up to normal rarity ones only stocking a single one at once isn't my cup of tea.
Pylonics have always been scarce, but I actually haven't seen a single Dark Potion today!!!
I've noticed while questing that some items will read in the quest bar as in stock with the NPC, but clicking links to the shop not the page to purchase that item, and then item is in fact not in stock. The Paaske was the most recent. I checked the "all items" page and it said the item was last restocked 1 day ago.
Getting 404s after buying an item and returning to shop (occasionally) or if purchase doesn't go through - there should be a Subeta message instead.
Restocking is tedious, when you don't remember, if you have bought an item already...
And having to scroll down after every click is no more fun, either.
In quest shop purchases - claims item is in shop, when it isn't (has been mentioned by someone before) and sends us into shop instead to purchase window. Even after a few minutes, quest still says it's available in shop.
items are already quite difficult to source on subeta. i've noticed an incredible amount of older subq items being artificially inflated to over 70m. while r99 items should remain very rare, the restocking patterns seem obtuse to the player base.
having a daily limit has helped curb too many items being introduced into the economy too fast, but still rewarded casual players who were looking to fill out their collections (myself included). i was able to add hundreds of items to my collections and knock off a TON of achievements.
perhaps the monthly limit could apply to the player, instead? maybe the item could restock more frequently, but a player would be only able to purchase the item once a month.
I'm an old restocker and I haven't been doing much restocking in recent months. I even have a category in my gallery - "Rarity 99 It Meant Something". So I understand the whole thing about rarity and items being devalued, but I have to comment on the idea of limiting players per item. Please do not limit players. I quit the bigger pet site because they randomized restocks twenty years ago in an effort to limit items to certain players. Limiting players on their purchases is simply an unjust punishment. Restocking these days is as simple as clicking an item. No haggling, no clicking a pet in an image, no real skill or barrier between players. If you want to restock, go for it, but please don't restrict other players.
Edited to add: Rarity 99s are given out by quest givers and as battle loot. I think that's more of an issue than the rarity 99s that restock, at least with regard to the old restock system and rarity.

I was talking about this on discord - thought i’d post what i wrote there on here, too.
The idea of having each r99 item stocking only once a month seems a little too scarce - i can see that working in the very short term, to help prices recover a bit. But long term? Prices will probably skyrocket. i wonder if there would be any chance of putting a similar algorithm in that’s on legacy now for the shops, and tweaking it from there? Like maybe using it as a starting point and seeing what adjustments can be made to better suit the amount of users as it is now.
Another thing i can suggest is tweaking it to suit every individual shop. Each shop is different - stuff like potions and extremely high value items i can see stocking maybe once a week, or something. But books, plushies, etc? More often would likely prevent those items from becoming unattainable. There’s already enough books and food out there that are next to impossible to get. :c some people need to read and feed multiple pets. Having even more extremely high cost books and foods makes that feat even more daunting.
Just a couple more suggestions i have.
I am still processing how this might look when it goes live over the site. I really like the idea of making restocking worthwhile again. That was one of my favorite things when I joined back in the day, and I missed it.
I do worry, though, that with many of us having a lot less ability to haunt the shops as adults with families and jobs, for some of us, rare items will become impossible to obtain if it's only one item per month per shop. I know I can't frequent shops enough to ever get lucky to grab them, but am curious to see how it makes everything else balance over time.
I am dreading Freyalise more than ever, when items are no longer grouped by ID.
Either way the r99 thing isn't working as intended since I bought 22 R99s out of one shop, and they had all stocked in the last 4 hours.

i used the previous version of the kumos system for a bit but didn't want to say anything. now that it's been updated again i guess i will. for reference restocking is essentially the only thing i do on here really. not even quests. anyway.
all of this to say the legacy site seems to do everything better right now. except stocking a huge spread of super rare items which feels like an exploit on kumos still. i like not losing my place after every purchase. i like not being limited in how many of an item i can buy. i like that my discount card works without having to delete it. i like the feel of seeing a rare item show up and not just be annoyed because i bought my allotted ration already (and i didn't remember because there's no indication) and it messed up the order everything was in and i got confused and lost my place so i decided to just give up because i'm overwhelmed and annoyed. :/
sorry it's mostly negative. i do like that there's still tweaking and improvements, but nothing draws me to the kumos shops over legacy right now unfortunately... the one benefit it had was when i could bulk buy the lower rarity items but with how it is now i can't even do that anymore. i don't feel like checking the shop 10 times daily to see if i can get another Pea Bomb. hopefully with the feedback it will become much better still.
Completely agree with above - I came here to suggest that items should have a red background (or grey works too) if you've purchased the max per day. It's really hard to keep track of, as items come and go & the day ticks over at 2PM for me!
After working with the new shop build, I came here to drop my 2 cents again. I don't need to write up a lot, because already has said everything I felt over the past days!!!
The availability of only a single item now is a pain, when you would like or need to restock a second one! Still haven't seen a single Dark Potion! In quests, why can we not look up items, that are by chance in our inventory already?
Just simply repeating, what a lot of us have claimed over and over again: Please look at how effective/fast everything works (without constant repetitive tedious scrolling), and how slim and within (half) a window the layout is on legacy!
So a lot has changed since yesterday! WE Quest carried over to Kumos - great + works! Reputation (mid400 for me) NPC reputation boni implemented - erm... ~2k sP with Saggi, ~100 sP Wizard. You're serious? We won't know, how to handle these masses of increase of our income cough
Layout shrunk in a way, nice yet too much line and section space still, Reward detail info/explanation should be at the very bottom (for those that really care to check every quest), while items next to sP.
Waking up to completely or almost empty shops, which claim to restock but don't!
The Legacy site NPC shop stocking system has worked well for years. The Kumos site system is a nightmare for restocking for my own shop so I have just about given up on it. Not that there was anything to restock from the Kumos NPC shops today because they aren't restocking.
I am not a fan of this new system as it is right now. No timer, now tiny amounts of stock and they clear out super fast. Probably due to hardcore restockers grabbing everything. Restocking should not feel this cutthroat. For the last few days almost all shops have been empty, and I think only about 10% of the items I was asked for in quests were buyable in npc shops. The stocking limits and the schedule feel way too low for the amount of users that stock and quest.
Is all this going to cause a spike in user shop prices that will affect questing? I think it already is because there's still a small item pool they're asking for, and prices are rising. Especially Sagittarius. With those new low limits and restock schedule, soon he might not be profitable at all. A few times I wasn't even allowed to start because I got a message that there weren't enough items available to buy, please try again later.
Also it's mentioned in the first post, emphasized really, that only the most active users will be awarded with the best deals/most profits. With things like school, families, jobs, illness, etc. not all of us have 8-16 hours a day 7 days a week to obsessively stalk the shops for a restock. I'm not inclined to play on kumos if I can't make a profit on quests. That's my primary source of sp income. The new limits and schedule seems like they're going to make things impossible for us more relaxed, casual players.
As some others have said, it makes more sense to bring back the timer, and impose a bit tighter buying limits for the users individually. Maybe for ALL rarities so a small amount of players can't keep picking the shops clean every restock. The earlier stock limits made more sense, and would ensure everyone that wants to play has a chance to at least do daily quests, well, daily and have a chance for some restocking too.
