We tried going when we were in the Dominican Republic two years ago but I was horribly sick the whole vacation and they had 10 foot waves so we couldn’t go.

Sometimes I get motion sickness real bad, so boats can be tricky for me. I also can't swim but God DAMN I do love being in the water. I was fortunate enough to be invited to Mexico for a cousin in laws wedding (and I had never loved my husband more than then. That trip is what got me through covid. That trip is still one of my favorite happy places.) Anyway. We went snorkeling but my husband just kind of pulled me along lol

Anyway! Roasters and Toasters in Miami (but there are others I think) and the Jewish Cuban sandwich changed my life. I don't care for ham, but I Do love salami, and they swapped the ham out for, you guessed it, salami. And it was just SO good. Also went to a restaurant that had mango jalapeño sorbet, and it sent me over the moon (good)

We actually drove up to Michigan last August for their Renaissance Festival and made a little camping trip out of it. We took our Corgi with us and it was awesome. Ohio's is great but YALL ALLOW DOGS (': and it's done so correctly and way more smoothly than Ohios xD

Ohhhh me, I've just casually finished 2 books in April already lolololol Rest Stop, by Nat Cassidy was a shorter read, under 200 pages. The Eyes Are The Best Part, by Monika Kim was a bit longer, closer to 400 pages, but both of them were impossible to put down. Very very good.

Other than that, I've been working on a school project. Five main projects in my writing class, just finished P3, which was a torturous paper about the horrifying first 2 months of trump in office. Then I learned that P4 was a "remix argument" for the same topic and I h8ed myself for picking this terrible topic. But, then our teacher says it's a multimodal project, we're not writing another paper, but doing a presentation, or podcast, or just something ELSE. So. I'm knitting a scarf that says FUCK TRUMP in trans pride colors, pink white and blue. I started the K this morning, but had been unmotivated because of my book lol But now that I'm done, I suppose nothing to do but knit about it.

I've only been to the one here. My mother took me and my friends in high school. As soon as I moved back to Michigan with my husband, we started going again. I've heard we're one of the better ones, but it's been going down hill. So crowded, that the owners don't really feel the need to spruce anything up too much. People will show up anyway. That said ... You should definitely come back for the joust. Sir Gar is the champion for us!! Very sad that you got a bit rained out. I've always been so lucky, we've been after the rain and dealt with mud, and we watched the joust one year with the clouds rolling in, but either they blew away (and was refreshing because hello it's hot) or we made it out before they fell lol LAST YEAR!!! Was my favorite, I won't shut up about it, I met a MERMAN!!!! Of course, we went to Mermaid Cove, and we were lucky, because the mermaid was having her lunch break, and the merman was covering. I'd never met a merman, so it was v exciting for me indeed.

We definitely want to go back - hopefully with better weather. You should check out Ohio's too! Its Sept-October. Just. Avoid Viking weekend, its JAMMED packed even though thats literally one of our favorite weekends to go OTL Fantasy weekend is a close second but its at the beginning of the season so its HOTTTTTTT af. That's so cool that you got to meet a merman omg!! There are a few actors there that also perform at the Ohio one too! Our favorite show is the pirate show. We even had them perform a sword fight at our wedding last year :') It was absolutely magical. Our Celtic Fest is coming up in June and I am HOPING to go because I am almost out of soap and I tend to only get soap from the artisans there x'D

The mead in Michigan though tbh is honestly the better. Ya'll have a blueberry one and its my FAVROITE. They changed up something here and it's not as good. The cider though during Yuletide??? chef kiss

Looking at the little weekend schedule, Time Travel sounds fun, we always see a lot of cosplay regardless of when we go. Love counting plague doctors, we take bets as to how many we'll see lol We also really like the Highland weekends. Big lads (and lasses!) in wee skirts (kilts)!!

Honestly, I love that they're open later! An October ren fest date?? I just might push for that! Never been to the winter ones here. Despite living in Michigan (or Canada) my entire life, I truly hate the snow and cold lol

I appreciate the joke XD TT weekend is another big one. There is a whole Doctor Who group that tends to get together around this time and people are dressed up as every single Doctor from DW, its so much fun. Highland is nice, its not AS crowded as some of the other weekends surprisingly. Last year there was a Highland COW ToT! I totally understand not liking the cold. I like to LOOK at the snow xD Not drive in it.
