Yep. I'm all done too now. I even went and spent my quest points on more books. Didn't read them yet, just stuffed them in my book shop for later. But I spent all my sP and then did Sarah too and then bought another pastry box (been buying those all winter so far to get as many scraps of paper to read as I can while they're in season lol)
Oh I think I have something to learn here, I have 4k wizard tokens and mostly use them to pick a mallarchy from the pond and pop a balloon 8D
So - vending, I assume using the vending machine at the carneval? I have not really gotten into that much at all, it's not part of my subeta routine yet! Maybe I'll start making it? Sounds like it's worth it :) BUT I need to get off and to bed, so that shall be for tomorrow.
There are 10 vending machines in legacy subeta in various places. You can vend at each daily or do all your vending at one machine. Honestly to me, vending is just a fun way to get random items...I frag them or put them in my sale shop. It's a great way to get a lot of items when you are new!! As a gold account user you get 500 vends a day and that takes 1000 tokens. (2 tokens per vend). Each machine has certain shops or keywords for the items it vends.
Only one vending machine on kumos, which only gives 5 items. It's kind of in testing still I guess.
I see, thank you Kat! It does sound like a fun way to get random items, I'll put it on my list of things to do :)
Good morning from Europe! Monday is an office day for me so I'm headed there on the train right now.
Its so weird to me to hear you guys over there talking about the train, the bus or walking to work LOL Almost everyone I know drives in a car. I mean, there are some cities that have buses and subways so I know people DO use those here, but its just like, NOT an everyday thing in MY life...so it sounds so exotic!!
I tell you though, I am so thankful my car drive is only 10 minutes or less!! I do not like long commutes. The few times I've had to drive to Atlanta or Macon (hour/hour and a half depending on traffic) to go to trainings or other events drives me crazy. When I'm done for the day, I just want to be HOME, not stuck driving!
Vending was very exciting for me when I was new. I loved it. I still do, but for me now, as a long-time user, its mostly stuff I have no need for....but what else am I to use my tokens for? :P Also like I said, it lets me frag and stock my shop w/o using restocking shops (I usually don't have enough time to play with those).
edit 632 am - finished kumos in half an hour. Nice. Except - I had to quit FIVE quests. FOUR in a row for Saggi he asked for an item well over 1mil each time. Twice Rumi asked for items over my 100k per item limit - but one of those I had in my shop so I used it, the other I quit. Oh and Library also asked for an item over my limit, but again, I had it in my shop, so I used it (it was an item worth less than 200k each time) I hope sooner or later this rediculous pricing on items gets resolved. Don't ask for those items!! Its not right. I understand taking a small risk, but not a HUGE one like that. Thats just a complete loss if you buy a 1mil plus item and turn it in for a quest that gives you 250k at the most plus a few random items.
Oh yes! I take the train for 15 minutes and then I walk 10 minutes and I'm at the office. I could also take a tram for that last bit, but I like a walk, and the area around the office is nice and green, so I get a little nature in even! When I was standing outside after lunch there was a lot of birdsong, felt like Spring for a moment :)
And I quit a quest for Alexander because he wanted a 150k bookmark. Be reasonable, Alexander! You don't need a super rare bookmark, that's just silly 😆
I prefer the legacy forums still.. I've made a few suggestions on the kumos ones, but no one seems to be listening. Which is fine 😛
UGH GUYS we were already down a person and then someone no call no show'd today so she's probably fired so we're reallllly down people haha. We did a 5 person job with 3 of us today and we rocked it but I'm tired 😛
Have to run to town to jump D's car, then Lily has a concert tonight..
Oh gosh, I really wish we had public transportation! I'd loveeee it... especially not dealing with car expenses?!
Yeah. the few times I've commented anything, it doesn't seem as if anyone's noticed. I hope they have and are just taking time to make sure EVERYONEs comments are being noted and considered - but you know what - its KEITHS site, and he is the one who decides what to do. I play or don't play based on how I like the site and how it works. I don't mind offering my opinion and I'm glad he asks for it! But its his choice in the end, and I'm grateful he doesn't just close it down!! I also still prefer legacy forums, but I find it interesting to note that we can post after ourselves on kumos forums lol
Mmm I got to work on two assignments at least a little bit. I don't really want to but I want to get them started, even if I do end up adding to them by the end of the week. I also need to do my legacy quests.... and figure out whats for dinner.
Tomorrow night I have class, Wednesday after car rider I am doing a "mock interview" and discussion with my principal and vp, Thursday is a faculty meeting at 3pm and then Friday, Nathan works but I have to go to the daddy/daughter dance from 6-8 (or at least an hour of that, I'm not quite sure!) and then figure out dropping the car off for him after my neighbor gets home. Oh yes and tomorrow we have our high school intern introductory meeting and possibly her staying in the room for a bit, AND my lead teacher is going to be out so I'll have a sub AND we discussed and decided that I would take over morning activities in class Tues/Thurs and then Mon/Wed/Fri next week (and I don't know what days on the week after break) for my "assisting/co-teaching" portion before "solo-teaching" starts. Its going to be quite the week for me! Oh and next week I'll also be doing the phonological awareness time period with my valentines day activity for my lesson plan 1 assignment. :P
Sounds fun though, Kat!
So.. we were already down a person, but that was fine, we had it. Then another person was out to Disney for the week, but we got a sub, OK fine, we can run as 4. Then someone didn't show up again today.. so we did it as 3. We got it done, and will continue to get it done but.. I'm tired haha.
Then I got home, D was like "can you come jump me?". Drove the half hour to her apartment, turns out she had not a single thought in her head, because it was impossible to jump her the way she was parked. Took her to autozone to borrow a jump pack and went to Verizon to complain that my bill wasn't what they said it would be.
While my verizon guy was on the phone with customer service on my phone, I got a text from Lily.. she had passed out at her concert thing. Then another one from D, the jump pack didn't work.
Anyway, he got a $50 discount for this month, which is good enough, we'll see what happens next month. Alex went to pick Lily up, and Adam came to help with Ds car.
Then I came home and had a gingerale with a very large dollop of blackberry crown in it.
Oh my goodness me what a lot happened all at once for you! I am so glad it all got sorted out. And I think I might just have done what you did there too once you got home ;) I also can believe you guys rocked a 5 person job with only 3 people. YOU are like four people yourself hahahah You are a whirlwind sometimes!
I got one assignment like 95% done, I need to figure out one more thing to add to it...then I went and cooked and ate dinner and talked on the phone to my neighbor. She is having problems with HER car now. YIKES. Enough problems already for everyone eh??
Think I'll do some of my quests and then see what I feel like, classwork or finishing all my quests or chilling with my kindle :P
Sometimes.. I am a whirlwind :P It was kind of fun though, I was cooking and serving and going out to help with the computer (which is my actual job :P).
At least it wasn't a boring day haha.
Though I'm not sure I'm up for doing it all week long :P
Ugh, oh no! Yes, car troubles have got. to. STOP oh my goodness!
I'm watching The Lion King then maybe going to bed and reading :P
Our manager wasn't there today, but the servers all were. I have a feeling I didn't get charged for my lunch hahaha!! But that also means the lunch options didn't get changed out, so I don't know whats for lunch tomorrow. Its not always what the online menu says. They try to follow it but can't always. He has begun having the kids enter thier numbers and he told me to do it the other day and I stared at him like he was nuts. I ddidn't know what my number was LOL For the first few years, it was a 6 digit number, and then they changed it and I entered it like for a month, and then everyone got free lunches because of covid and the lunch lady was supposed to make adults pay but half the time didnt...and never asked me to put in my code, she always typed in my name...he's been typing in my name since he started working to charge me for lunches....when he showed me my number I did recognize it...but I had not remembered it until he showed me LOL But then he didn't ask me to input it again, he's been doing my name still... eh whatever!! Kids are all still free, adults still being charged - but not sure why they are sometimes making the kids put their numbers in and sometimes not? I mean, either they should ALL always have to, or no one does? I watched 4th grade do it, but then 3rd, who comes in after them as we are leaving, did not ??? On the same day!? And our preK babies did not enter numbers - we never have!! A VERY VERY long time ago, we used to have printed barcodes for all the kids as their lunch pass - they would scan it and it would charge the ones that didn't have free lunch or note the ones that did....but again, sometime before covid that changed and they started having kids enter their numbers....then nothing since covid and all meals were free - they ticked a box on a paper saying how many kids passed by to get a lunch.....
Eh. Its all changing again soon I bet since he's having to start tracking again I guess ?? I think free meals are on its last year, or maybe next year will be?
Hmm, that is crazy!
Everyone has to punch in their number if they get food, free or paid lunch. Because the school needs to be reimbursed for the free meals.
The kindergartners and first graders have barcodes to scan too, though. But I'll just type people in half the time because it's easier, adults especially. They NEVER know their numbers.. and normally it's the last 4 of their social LOL
Plus.. kids often buy second lunches. It happens a LOT with the 7th and 8th graders, a good amount with the high schoolers, and I guess the 6th graders at the elementary center buy them too. So they'd have to put their numbers in because only one meal is free.
So like.. we have free breakfast k-12, but they all have to put their number in, and then not only does the school get reimbursed, but we also know if they're back for a second one.
Well gee if it was that, I'd have no problem. My number isn't hard, since its a bunch of double digits...and then they threw two more double digits in the middle of the first set of double digits LOL so imagine 112233 and then 14412233 crazy eh? And has NOTHING to do with ANYTHING related to me? Like they just assigned some random number to me!!
I think the checkbox paper was what they used to track the free meals? Since everyone is free and has been since covid. And I guess the manager just input the data wherever was needed? I don't really know. Our kinder students get taught their numbers in the first month, because they use it for logging in to EVERYTHING. Their Chromebook, the library checkout system, the lunch room (when they DID have to do numbers there). I think its also used to check them in if they are tardy, so they can tell their parents what to type in lol
Ooh, no. I don't think anyone gets to buy 2nd lunches here?? Maybe at the highschool but I doubt it? None of my kids ever said anything like that. Maybe since you are a smaller school/system? Or just a locality difference.
They also use their numbers for their chromebooks and library, lunch etc. But they still don't know them somehow haha. Or maybe they're just so slow? Who knows!
Hmmm maybe. We also have snacks and a la carte items they can buy, maybe that's the difference?
Whaaaat is going on? Half of the items I am shop searching are ending up with a blank shop search page??? No prices, not even the item showing. I had to open kumos and shop search on there for user shops. UGH!
Ooh maybe. Yeah, we don't have a al carte items or snacks, not in elementary. We do have ice cream. But that is paid completely differently (teacher collects it and puts in a bag to go to the office)
edit: Hmm ok, even stranger. If I open the two tabs back to back, with both open, the one item is blank like I said, BUT if I open ONE tab, buy the item, close the tab and then open another tab to buy the 2nd item, it works fine. (I normally start the quest, open multi-tabs for however many items to buy them, close the tabs and finish the quest on the original page.
That's what I did too! But it seems to be fixed again already?
And yeah, we have ice cream, that's only on Fridays at the elementary center, and they have soft pretzels Wednesdays. But there's also chips and fruit snacks and cookies that they have avaialable at the end of every lunch.
And at the high school, we have ice cream, cookies, chips, fruit snacks, rice krispy treats, lots of different drinks.. and we'll also do stuff like make boba, fresh baked cookies, add some savory snacks like mozzerella sticks or something.
Yeah, I think it's fixed.
Well.. we also have a lot of options for lunch. Like, we have salads that we make every day, but there's also a salad bar. We also make pizza daily (normally plain cheese, pepperoni, chicken bacon ranch and a buffalo chicken, though we'll have hot honey chicken on Wednesday), hoagies daily.
And then the main lunch, alternate, and the grill. So like today we had a hot honey chicken sandwich for the main lunch, corn dog nuggets for alternate, and then on the grill we had buffalo chicken flatbreads, whole muscle chicken sandwiches (fancy chicken patty), cheeseburgers, chicken nuggets and bbq rib sandwiches.
So there's lots of choices, at least!
I don't know about the middle or high school - but the elementary only has 2-3 choices a day. The high school DID have pizza daily I remember that because Nathan almost always got the pizza. If it wasn't pizza it was chicken. :P No salads, flatbreads, hoagies or anything like that here.
Our choice today was hamburger or hot dog. With baked beans, potato wedges and fruit cocktail as sides.
The shop search glitch is still happening periodically for me!
