Yeah, the one family, I'm pretty sure poverty is part of it (twin boys in my class, two older brothers, never hear about dad) .... the other one (only one older sister, mom and dad are married, dad works, not sure about mom) I'm not so sure about - but you just never know for certain who is having problems and who isn't!! Most people who know me don't know how much I struggle, they might know I'm having car problems or only have one income, but they don't know how broke I am :/ And seem surprised when I tell them my income barely covers the bills and a tiny bit of gas/groceries for us. I've gotten by because of income tax returns and college scholarship/student loan refunds for the past two years. My summer job helped too, especially since I had to get another car! This spring I will struggle more than usual, but I see the light at the end of the tunnel and know I'll make it through!

I used to live in Syracuse (NY) when I was itty bitty. Kindergarten. Thats my only time living up north on the East Coast. I also lived in Washington (state) on the West Coast lol And Utah, which is where I lived in the snow (well, we had snow in NY too obviously). Military family - I've lived in 7 different states and travelled through many more.

Anyway. Stupid animals woke me up all night as did the cough. I'm going to be very tired today. Fun. Especially since I have class tonight AND an extra bonus meeting after for the student teaching class.

School did end up getting cancelled today.. the roads are awful, and the cold is too. I think it's still overing around 4 at 11am?

Ooh yeah Beth, we must be pretty close! We actually used to go back to school shopping in Vestal because it was closer than anywhere else (and had a Kohls, back when that was still a thing :P)

Have I said before how much I really dislike zoom meetings with my classmates :P I mean, I like them. I do. But I hate them too. Tonight was one of those nights I hated it. someone asks a question, teacher tries to explain it. Someone asks a clarifying question, teacher explains it a completely different way, everyone is now completely confused. ARRRRRRGGGHHHHH and I'm over here going, I already GOT IT I Understand it, can we freaking MOVE ON and stop being so nit picky!!! GAAAAAAHHHH Its freaking 9pm and I just got off zoom UGH Now it will take me forever to unwind so I can sleep and I"M SO TIRED

Anyway. Got my laundry sorted. Its all over my bed (had to find something to wear lol so now its not in the basket but on my bed) Maybe I'll hang it up/put it away later today (maybe I'll throw it all back in the basket!)

Plan to try and work on my assignments and lesson plans a little tonight, but we will see how I feel after work.

I stepped down as secretary of the Christmas market last night! And did NOT get roped into doing anything else, though I am still head of the volunteer committee and I said I'd help with the Elf School (kids booth) if I had to. Still.. YAY.

I think when Alex gets home I'll maybe go into the church for a bit.. or maybe I'll wait for tomorrow? I don't even know. I've got to go in at some point, but maybe I'll just try and get it all done tomorrow. Maybe I'll just go in a little early? Hmm.

AND! Today was our first day alone at work, and Kim and I killed it, I do believe. We didn't even miss Jolie at all (Honestly, at this point, we love her, but we're so glad she's gone haha. She was starting to drive us nuts!). She's out for 4 weeks while her foot heals after her surgery.. but I'm going to pick her up Friday and take her to go get crumbl cookies, apparently. Because I'm a sucker :P (Well.. SHE'S getting cookies. I think they're way too expensive for what they are!)

Haha I'm not, but I was once.. for about a minute :P A group of us got together and put all our money together to achieve it (and it was VERY nerve-wracking, and very fun after haha).

My work is in corporate. My feeling at this point is that if you've seen one office job, you've seen them all. The one I currently have, I'm working in a project where we're doing client reviews. Picture delving into archives and compiling information, with a lot of excel worksheets! I do think it's a bit boring, but I'm good at it and I appreciate how it's reasonably low on stress - although we have unfortunately been given a deadline for this project that I think is unrealistic and that's sapping my motivation away currently. But it'll be okay!

My cat is much more important to me than meeting that deadline - look at this adorable coworker of mine!

Ugh Mieke. Taxes. Maybe getting this years done will bump some interest in last years for you. I hope anyway. I can't do mine yet. I can do Nathans (well I plan to walk HIM through doing it) because he only has the 1 W2 (and the kid only earned a bit over 10k, I keep telling him to get more hours, but apparently the boss doesn't want to give it - he got an extra day for two/three weeks and now doesn't anymore because more people got hired? Even tho Nathan SAYS he told the boss he wants more hours) Well the kid will eventually learn that he might have to get a 2nd job, or a different full time job to get anything accomplished. Once I stop babying him I guess :P I can't help it though, if I am buying food, I am buying in for the household, not just myself, I can't help that, its how I am wired you know? I don't think "Oh I am just buying food for ME" _ I've NEVER done that!!! NEVER! I've always lived in a house where we are shopping FOR THE WHOLE HOUSE. I might have to start doing that though. He did buy us dinner (chinese takeout) last night and light bulbs for his bathroom AND some more of that zicam for me last night since HE went to the store. He can be sweet like that.

Anyway. Back to taxes - well I can't do mine because I am still waiting on the DECAL document for the $ I got from them. I have the work W2 and the school form already. (AND YIKES I have never seen such a big number on the school form?? Its like they included the PELL grant too or something? Which I thought wasn't taxable??? I have no idea how the school form reports stuff, I just always input whatever it says to whereever it says to lol

Completely understandable with the buying food for the household, Mieke! I am the same way and the one time I was living with friends who did not do the same I found that very off-putting, one of the reasons I ended up moving out.

For uploading pics on Kumos, you can use the little upload button on top of the text box and get the pic directly from your device. It's convenient but won't show up on Legacy, as we've learned 😆
