I'm so sorry for your loss. My own cat of about that age was lost not even two weeks ago to bowel cancer, it was devastating and I know just how hard it is to keep doing the fun things when everything seems so terrible and there's a hole in your heart where a beloved cat is gone.

Oh my friend... I know this has gouged out your insides. There are no words that can undo that. And there is nothing on the planet that can fill that gaping hole that Palila left.
This has happened to me THREE times now. Hershey, Reese's and Fanta. Each one an equal member of my family of humans and animals alike. It isn't fair that they leave so quickly!
The only thing that finally gave me solace is realizing (for their part) they have no idea death exists. They literally spend their entire lives thinking they will be with us infinitely. I find comfort in knowing they are unaware there is a "parting".
But what the human endures is agonizing and all-consuming. If there is ANYTHING you need, just say the word.

I know many of your experienced such loss/es even in the near past, and I have, too, many times, but this time, it was so very dramatic. I still need some time to recover but will be back for good soon.
