As a baker, I'll have to split this up into two categories. ^^; My favorite to bake is probably shortbread cookies! So simple, and just a small tweak to your ingredients (or, as often happens to me, your ingredients being finnicky little jerks because sometimes gluten free flour just does not want to play nice) and you can also have lace cookies! And you can make SO many varieties using simple additions (like various spices, lemon zest, matcha powder, cocoa powder) to the same basic recipe. My favorite to eat would probably be goma dango, a pastry coated with sesame seeds and usually filled with lotus or red or black bean paste. The red bean paste filled ones are my favorite, I LOVE red bean paste. This is probably where my love of foreign sweets came from, one of my favorite restaurants as a kid served these sometimes, they were my reigning favorite dessert there. I haven't had them in FOREVER because I don't like making bean pastes, and finding the proper flour for them is a bit of a challenge. Bonus runner-up for baking and eating: Muffins. Quick, easy, delicious, endless flavor possibilities. But they don't quite fit the given categories in my mind.

Cream puffs! You can do so much with them, from craquelin or chocolate toppings, flavored whipped cream or custards, and many shapes and sizes.

They're all good, but I just love the simple, large puffs with vanilla whipped cream and topped with a just a hint of icing sugar. Yummy!

I don't want to be too boring by saying 'Chocolate Chip'. LOL So, my favorite dessert is my mother-in-law's Apple Pie '63. (I almost always call it Apple Pie 69, but that's because it's SO GOOD.. sorry) Anyway, it's amazing. HERE's the recipe, in case you bake. I found a gluten free recipe, so I should make it!
