Today is one of those days where I don't want to get out of bed, but duty calls. sigh So instead, have some items! We're going from to today.

I feel like it says something when I'm looking at and trying to remember if it was Masquerade or Survival. I did a little research, I think this was the Skitters/Ecks Survival plot? I don't remember that one too clearly. I do remember the very first Survival though! Or, er... "The Great Pandemic". That's, not a name that has aged well, unfortunately. Frantically refreshing at Shadowglen hoping to be infected was fun though, even though I was one of the folks who took over half an hour of refreshing. Still not as bad as some who were taking hours! There was so much excitement with finding out that you felt weird, and then hours later suddenly finding a mark on your HA.

Does anyone else remember the harvesting mechanic? Yes, we were able to bite, but I also remember us being able to harvest organs from users? Unfortunately, I have NO recollection as to what was actually done with that, or if we even got actual items for it. We weren't trying to make a cure, I don't think.... and the harvesting mechanic was only in that very first year. I wish I could remember what it was for! goes to check news archive

OMG this was the introduction of Titania McGee!!! I forgot!!! "It seems as though a particularly resilient strain of the flu is circulating throughout Centropolis, accompanied by a distinctive rash. Despite the unusual added symptom, leading Subetan doctors state that the bug should run its course in a few weeks." Oh dear, this REALLY didn't age well. "The fast acting Medical Association of Subeta has acted, and is now handing out free Doctor's Masks to anyone who is susceptible to the airborne flu being passed around. The head of the association has assured me that these masks do decrease the chance of being infected!"

You know, there were a bunch of users who didn't want to get infected? Aside from the masks being given out, I'm looking at the news archive and seeing how there were items sold to prevent users from biting you, and then the biting ended up getting restricted to the "Love Epidemic" board.

Having joined relatively recently, I haven't experienced any plots. Being a lorehound in general, it's always fascinating to learn what transpired, and it's the most fun hearing people's specific experiences and memories from them. Thank you for sharing [tt]: )[/tt] I'm not sure myself that the latter portion aged poorly, though I could be missing some context.

, I mean more just because it was fantasy zombie on Subeta, and then 2020 walloped the world. "pandemic" and the discussion of health panic, trying multiple ways to stay safe, not knowing what was going on or how bad it was, it hits a little too close to home now.

Oh yeah, defs. I totally get what you mean. And certainly disconcerting now to routinely play in a pandemic scenario when some proportion of us would prefer an escape from that reality. There's something interesting in the perspective that in past years and its introduction it wouldn't have been foreseen or considered something particularly realistic.

Looks like I JUST missed some goodies. Oh well maybe next time!

Haven't caught any drops yet, still.exciting to see what others are getting. Maybe there will be another late night drop sometime, I'm a night owl lol. Thank you again for being so kind, also I loved the organ harvesting. Survival has always been such a unique holiday, One of my favorite for sure!
