Sell me on SoSS. Worth adding to my armory when i already have MW, or save more towards a Godly Fanciful Box to try for Sandreaver?

I bought SoSS to replace MW. I much prefer it. It really depends on what icons you have covered and what you don't. I had every icon covered by a god except light block. This was before God boxes and I'm not a fan of RNG based anyway. So the water upgrade was the only one that remained that I could see going for and the price was competitively cheep .
It's like hearing Bill Gates and Warren Buffet debate... Can I get one of you to adopt me so I can get a godly? I've been an active user for over a decade and I still can't afford even one. 😭
bonita Almost all my gods came from site events or wars. I think Ether and SoSS are the only ones I bought, besides Swash when it was like 10 mil in user shops. Was supremely lucky to get O-Staff from the crystal shop like 13 years ago. When I bought SoSS it was the most sp I ever had and I've had nowhere close since. I guess it's a compliment people think I'm a billionaire...
With your pets I'm surprised you don't have a bunch too. ME, MSH, MW, the comparatively cheap Ether and Natasha in MC?
I have the demi-god weapons we can buy in the MC and I've been lucky enough to get some of the better weapons awarded as loot, but I didn't join Subeta until right before they quit giving interest on savings and after the Cruise and other early events. I never had a chance to battle for any of the godlies when they were first intro'd. Additionally, I never got the chance to save much for the short while interest was still awarded, so I was never able to amass the fortune that early joining players were able to.
That means despite working my ass off for over a decade and battling for hours on end, training pets, etc... I still am not even half way to being able to buy SoSS. I have found it extremely frustrating and I am not the only battler who has lost a lot of interest in the site because of the unattainable costs. You may have noticed there are fewer familiar faces around than there used to be. It's more than normal attrition.
I understand the desire to keep the veterans happy and to give them something to work towards, but I feel those things should be cosmetic and not give such an edge to the longest playing users -- who already have a huge advantage in terms of being able to acquire wealth, and at least had a chance to earn the weapons. The site has come a long way in terms of how loot is awarded and I think the gelly wars in particular are much more fair than when I started.
When I began, my best battle pet had to do 1000 battles to equal what a top player could do in one round for the gelly wars and only the top damage dealers -- who already had all the best weapons -- could earn the best rewards -- including the weapons they already had. It wasn't until I had a pet in the top 50 that the site began to distribute rewards more equitably, IMO.
Newer, poorer users are the lifeblood of any site. If we want a healthy and thriving battle community, we need to be ever mindful of their prospective. Battling on this site is overwhelming and intimidating. Many people, who not as mouthy as I am, have trouble just asking for help. They aren't likely to speak up if they see the system as unfair, or if they feel like they can never "catch up" -- they'll just quietly leave.
I want us to have a large and thriving community -- that's why I'm always shooting my mouth off. That's also why I don't hesitate to say that I almost quit -- and have been much less active -- since I realized that despite working my ass off for over a decade, I'm not even half-way to ONE godly. I can't imagine how new players feel.
I don't mean to imply that you haven't earned your weapons, or that you don't deserve them. I think you have and you do. I just wish staff would've thought it through more thoroughly in terms of how it would make anyone who didn't join up the first few years feel. My frustration is with the system -- not the players.
You know I adore you and look up to you. I'm just trying to express how things appear from where I'm standing.

bonita I think our definition of godly may be different. I consider the ones I listed godly even though they aren't the original gods or the very few released later that some people argue are the only true gods. I already accepted to agree to disagree with the people keeping to the strict definition.
I think they made really good progress releasing what I consider new gods: MW, ME, MSH, Kronos, Natasha, Swash and Ether previously, and various war/event prizes since, that were much more obtainable. The demi-God boxes and the MC weapons were great at getting out quality weapons that were well under 1 bil SP. And then the 9 bil god boxes hit.
I gave my opinion at the time when they were released and don't want to start it up again because at this point, it is what it is. I think it, rightly or wrongly, reinforced for people with the mindset that battle is too costly that they shouldn't even try or that success isn't possible without an armory worth zillions of sp. That did seem to drive away newer mid to large battlers and it made me sad to lose them.
Maybe the seemingly coming revamp will help...
I hope so! Hopefully staff has been watching the debate so they'll get a variety of points of view and I hope they can come up with something that works for at least the majority of users.
Meanwhile -- anyone who has questions or concerns should feel free to comment/ask. Your opinion is just as valuable as everyone else's ideas. If you don't know what someone is talking about -- don't be afraid to ask. We old foggies are used to shorthand and most of the community knows our common abbreviations and nicknames. But we didn't start out that way!
People are happy to share what works and to offer ideas... So ask/comment!
I’m not even rich in any way, just that I estimated in a couple pay checks I can buy enough CSC to resell to get the 3bil mark. But I wonder if it’s be more worthwhile to just save and later splurge to get 9b to buy that last godly box, and get something worth trading for a sandreaver then.
Unless Sandreaver is cheaper to buy than the dumb gacha box
Like ColdDragon I either earned stuff from plots or managed to buy it for a good deal.

Unless someone else buys the last one first.
I wish they’d go out in some fashion. It’s more fun to earn them via battling than buying with sPs

I guessing based on when they had users sort every weapon on the site. It's in the news if you want to look back through. I'm not sure how long ago, time has been broken for me since start of pandemic.
Amen to that!
