OH GAWD.. I've been battling sticker plants as well as wild strawberries for creeping into ALL my gardens and I just don't know how to keep them from growing b/c I try everything to refrain from using chemicals. I've used them a couple times on the very front, that has mulch and stuff and is atrocious for having everything besides the bushes grow in them, but the way the front yard leans, I don't want it to go into the lilies, tomatoes, and well, the next lily garden. But.. DAMN... I pull these weeds up by their roots and they are consistent!

It's the hair... The dog hair. It piles in places I don't even see until it's, well, piled. My sweeper always clogs when I try to use it and when I use a broom, it just sticks to the bristles until I clean it off every 5 seconds. Suggestions? The dog hair problem makes me sweep less, so whatever else is left b/c the bristles are so clogged w/ hair that I can't get a good brush or sweep in, and anything inside drives me nuts when it sticks to my feet. Wish I could figure that out for my cats, too. Litter boxes..... probably best w/ scrap carpet b/c all those overpriced "cat pads" meant to catch litter when they come out of the litter box, they just jump over. 😠 Just remembered... that faux grass that is indoor/outdoor stuff.... that would be EXCELLENT! Keep forgetting about it.

I already need to think about what I need to start my indoor garden. (I have plenty of grow lights, this time. Before I only had track lighting and it was too far away to grow seeds.) Not s/thing I can wait until Autumn to do. Maybe I'll find that faux grass on sale. :D

Ah, the bag situation... I don't mind extra bags. A lot of times I reuse them for things like changing the cat litter or emptying an "experiment" from the fridge and being able to tie it off and throw it away w/out worrying about wasting a whole garbage bag, lol. Lots of uses for spare bags, although I've really liked the lack of them when I get little things for myself and can use eco bags.

ugh yea dog hair is bad. another reason i prefer vacuuming to sweeping hahaha. thankfully mine don't shed too horribly. The cats are worse, but they generally shed on the couch - thats why i started putting towels on top, throw the towels in the washer :P and yea I agree about the grit from the litter box. I keep my litter box in a corner, with a mat too, but yea, the litter gets tracked feet away from the box/mat area. again, i vacuum it up :P I probably vacuum every other day unless i am just too tired to bother

i have those little wild strawberry plants too, i was very disappointed when i realized they weren't real strawberries and i couldn't eat them :P they grow better than the strawberrys i planted :P

I use the extra bags during the school year for when the kids have bathroom accidents, send their clothes home in the walmart bags, or their napmat bedding.

I don't think I've used a plastic bag in like.. three years haha. Since before covid, at any rate. And a while before that.

I prefer self checkout, I only ever go to a cashier at Weis, because their self checkouts are the WORST.

I just prefer bagging my own stuff the way I want it, and being able to not feel super rushed. And I like to really fill my bags. I've found when I go other places, they'll put like.. one thing in a bag, then double bag it. And milk in a bag. It's got a handle, people!

Hello guys!!! What a long freaking day. :P Phew. Glad its over. Tomorrow will be long too - as I'm going in early so I can leave early Friday LOL And tomorrow is open house, which makes it seem even LONGER.

The "education celebration" lasted almost an HOUR longer than it usually does!!! :o ARRRGGGHHH It was cute and fun for the most part tho. I knew several of the people who got "whatever of the year" awards - bus driver, paraprofessional, librarian, etc So that was cool. They weren't from my school, but I know them from when my kids were in school with their kids :P Then we stopped at DQ for our annual treat after the education celebration. So then I wasn't hungry for lunch but had a headache and knew I needed to eat some real food so I ate some of my lunch I took. And some advil. Then I got super light headed. I don't think I drank enough water, and then the not eating for a long period of time didn't help. I was ok tho. Then I had a 130-230 PL session since I missed the one yesterday, it was ok, but so much repetitive stuff I'd heard a hundred times AND mostly geared towards lead teachers not paras. Then a little bit of work in the room, and at 4 I finally left with the other para, Mrs Price - she needed to get some food, and she cut my hair for me (I had told her I was thinking of doing it during the break between getting off work and going back for the parent orientation). :D So yay! She did it for free, tho I offered to pay her. Then we went and she treated ME to dinner :) She is so sweet. Then back to school (hahah I just realized I have used a LOT of "then") - for the Parent Orientation - we stuffed a few more things in the folders for parents and rushed up to welcome them LOL That lasted about an hour, then finally (hahaha THEN) I got to come home!!!

[edit] 725pm Whoo Open House was amazing!! I actually got to stay IN the classroom and meet all the parents/kids. ALL our kids came except our twins, their mom has been sick the past few days and she didn't have anyone to bring them. For the most part, the kids all seem VERY sweet (that sometimes changes hahah!!) One will be a handful I can tell already (and his sister was in our class last year, she was super sweet - opposites!!! LOL) Another will be a crier it seems. And one has a seizure disorder so that will make class interesting :o We actually ended up with THREE (I knew of two) younger siblings of kids we've had in the previous couple of years so that is pretty neat! :D I love having siblings to be honest. The parents already know what to expect from our classroom.

I've been going through the same physical PMS shit that I did last month and I am SO over it!! Been laying around all week, which just makes me sore all over, and now I've got to spend the weekend catching up on things. 😠 If I can manage it, I might go for an overnight hammock camping trip just to get away.

Actually have some windows open b/c it's a super nice weekend. Low humidity and overnight I had a fan in my bedroom window and slept great. I'm up, earlier than I wanted to be, but feeling decent enough to stay up and enjoy the quiet morning before I get in the shower and start running to stores.

Celebrating Nathans birthday this weekend since neither of us will really feel like doing much ON his birthday since it's the first day of school (which is always exhausting). - I do plan to stop for blizzards at DQ that afternoon for snack tho, got to do SOMETHING on his birthday yanno ;) So, this morning hubby and I met up and shopped for some gifts (video games, is what he asked for) I also grabbed a candle since he likes those. Dad was going to take us to lunch at a BBQ place near his house, but they had a water line bust last night (he saw the sign this morning as he took his groceries home) so instead he's coming over here and we might go to Slices (the little pizza place I like best). Then home from that to bake birthday cake (going to see if I can make it rainbow! - kind of like a 3D pie chart rainbow). And sister/her boyfriend are coming over this afternoon/evening sometime to do cake with us.

Ugh for PMS nonsense. That is no fun at all. I'm halfway hoping mine won't be so awful this time around but it probably will be and I'll be miserable again.

Oh and Nathan's dr apt went fine, they said there is a bone fragment that didnt re-seal to the bone but it shouldnt bother him unless it shifts - so he is fine unless he starts having pain or being unable to bend/move the finger (meaning the fragment shifted) - then we can go back and they'll xray and decide on treatment if that does happen.

Hmm not being banned, guess that's a privilege of being the site owner, but yea, He should adhere to his own rules eh? Meh. Frustrating when they don't fix things even if they say they are. I have no idea about code/online stuff so I try to not let it get to me when stuff glitches, but sometimes...ugh.

I don't think I've ever had DQ. While I love ice cream, ever since dropping milk many years ago, it will get to me (unlike cheese although that can take a turn if I haven't had any type of dairy for a week). Sidenote - did you know that we are naturally lactose intolerant, like most animals. We force our bodies to tolerate it. Don't believe me? Among the buried studies out there of our evolution and biology, try going 2-3 weeks w/out dairy and then drink a cup of milk. It's a terrible experience. I also saw a documentary on how milk is processed and I was just horrified. Don't get me wrong, I've seen the horrors of factory farming and how those animals are treated but veganism isn't the answer.
Anyway, last time I had some cookies and cream ice cream, I had "issues" for a few days and I haven't bought any, since. I've heard about there being a lactose free version, but honestly I'm just not interested in getting it.

Wholly shit, I got from the lizard yesterday! It's the only thing I EVER got that was worth more than 70k! LOL I've also been stocking SubQ and have added 4 more items to my Lyrical Tigrean collection and actually snagged 2 of the Mor Apeel collection today! That's a first, for me!
Kinda like the hunt but I only snag things that I actually like the whole collection for... not just for an achievement. :P

It can be ok and it can be annoying to be around him. It really depends on what is going on. Most of the time it is ok. We want to remain friendly and on good terms, so we both try to avoid anything that we know will annoy/upset the other. At least I know I do, and I think he seems to as well.

Nooo I made the cake. I always make the birthday cakes. Even my own most of the time (sometimes Katie or Nathan will make mine). They have always enjoyed baking or cooking with me since they were little.

I think I like ice cream and cheese stuff (shredded cheese on tacos, cheese on burgers and pizza, cheese sticks (fried and just regular ones too as examples), too much to forgo dairy altogether....lol but I don't drink milk anymore. It upsets my stomach too much.

Taco's sound good... a good taco bowl, even. While I was at the store, I just picked up some random stuff that wasn't on my list just to get through tonight so I can have some drinks, eat and relax - not that I haven't been doing that all week. Was craving a hefty salad so I got all the goodies I usually do, just boiled some eggs and I'm gonna have a version of cobb salad later.

Picked up a 2 pack of laser lights for my cats. Always seem to lose these things, lol. Been having too much fun w/ it since I got back.

My girls were never interested in cooking. When I showed that I was around my mom, she would just shoo me out of the kitchen, never teach me shit. Took a loooong time to learn on my own. I started cooking or making non American dishes (mostly Japanese) over a decade ago to introduce them to new stuff that I had wanted to try out (without paying for) and they still never got interested. I've even rolled sushi... just not w/ anything raw as there are lots of protocols to working w/ raw meat or seafood, especially w/ seafood.

The change was very difficult for me to adjust to when we got divorced. Sleeping alone, being the only adult around, and remembering how things were at the best of times, mostly at the beginning. Lots to adjust to, even though our relationship was shorter than yours.

UGGHHHH... fucking hate dog smells. Only 3 weeks and I swear this stinky dog already needs another bath. What a PITA!!

Katie is going to be 21 in November. (Shane will be 24 in Dec and Nathan 16 in Aug).

I think part of the reason I adapted well to him being gone is because for over 10yrs of our married life he was an over the road truck driver. He got his cdl when Katie was like, 2-ish. And was over the road until about 6-8yrs ago? So even tho we adjusted to him being home every night I think it was easy to readjust to him being gone since he was for so long (he would come home on weekends for like 36hrs). And the past two years he had his own bed/room anyway (after saying he wanted a divorce). So yea. There's that too Hard part is not saying ugly things to the kids about him when I feel he is being stupid about something. Like I really wanted to tell the kids about why dad did lunch instead of come over for cake - he was being ugly about Katie not going to visit him at his house and staying at her boyfriends parents house the three weeks she's up here. So sure, be a butt about coming to your son's birthday because you are upset with your daughter. Whatever. I didn't say anything to them. I told him to talk to Nathan about lunch instead of cake and left it alone. I feel like they should know why he didn't come over but I don't want to be the cause of more bad feelings between them all.

Dogs do stink. Bathe more often? Probably too hard to do. I keep wanting to bathe dog every week because of smell but rarely do 😝

5pm Hmm SHHHH Ya'll!! :P Went to the college today, bought book for english class. There wasn't one for biology? How that is possible I dunno. But whatever. Save me $ but I better not have to go buy it later or something!! NO idea where the english in person part of class will be located, asked, the clerk says they THINK its in the main building, down "that hall somehwere" ok thanks :P Then thinking maybe the teacher will post online before the first Wed, i looked at the dates and the first wednesday IS the first day of school - so ugh. Maybe I'll go back over there tomorrow and wander around looking for the classroom? :P hahahahaha I did try to look up when there is orientation, but it only gives a date - the day BEFORE classes start and no timeframe, so like, if its at freaking 8am or something I couldn't go anyway!! Also a little concerning to me, and another reason I may pop back over to the school tomorrow - I looked at my receipt for the book (I bought a used one) and on the receipt it shows someone else's name and student ID # ??? WHY WOULD IT DO THAT???? That kind of freaks me out because I've returned books, and did someone else who bought a used book get MY STUDENT ID and name on THEIR receipt???? Thought I would go show/ask the bookstore peoples.

Omg that cake looks so FRAKKING yummy!!! I've actually been craving ice cream, too. I don't know if it's sugar thing (I doubt) but I think it's more of a PMS thing, which is the only time I actually crave some kind of chocolate, and I'm not a big fan of chocolate. When they would have generic birthday cakes at work, there were always those that would scrape off the extra icing.... and I was right there to pick up a corner piece as well as all the extra icing left behind. Does the same thing to me as eating a bunch of ice cream. 😔

I DO need s/thing sweet.... I watched how to make pineapple upside down cake and wondered how I can integrate some more sugar into it. I mean, for me, only half of the cupcake is good. :P Another reason why I stay away from sweets and have kept my daughters away from it for the most part, growing up. Sugar is definitely an addiction. It also makes you feel hungry when you're not.

Last time I washed him, my bro was around to hold him on a leash so he didn't take off. Doing it on your own is just back breaking. My back already aches from my PMS and I have no patience for that shit.

It was yummy!! :) I prefer chocolate cake myself, but since we were doing rainbow, I did a white cake so I could dye it. I also always want chocolate around that time.... of course, I do like chocolate ANY time anyway :P Just try to not get too much of it. I am not so big on frosting. I like it, I don't normally scrape it off, but sometimes I don't eat all of it if there is tons. With cupcakes, I tend to make it a sandwich by tearing the cake part in half and placing the bottom part on top of the top part LOL Less messy, because store bought cupcakes always have a TON of frosting!

Forgot to take the book/receipt with me to work, so didn't go back to the college yet, and I doubt I'll get there the rest of this week, I'll be too exhausted :P I am thinking maybe she was new? I dunno, I had not seen her in there before, but I don't go there a lot. Just hope I can find my class when its time. Checked my school email, and there was a new email from the biology teacher, apparently there is a FREE online book to use for the course, so yay. FREE!! :D I downloaded the pdf version as well, just in case internet goes out I can still read the book.

You have a big dog don't you? If I remember right. The big ones are a pain. Big dog or little, I always do it in the bathtub, with the bathroom door shut, so even if they get out of the tub they're still trapped :P I have seen some good tips for keeping them entertained in the tub, the most interesting one being put peanut butter on the wall hahaha. I have never given my dogs people food tho, so I wouldn't do that (I also saw something recently that said PB wasn't so good for dogs? I know chocolate is bad)

I have a 95lb black german shepherd. I do have some really good shampoo for him that keeps him from smelling for weeks but this time not so much, although I have to say that the soaking I gave him yesterday really helped for some reason.

It is always too hot in the afternoons. I hate getting into my car after work :( UGH. I roll the windows down and blast the AC on high while I drive over to get Nathan, then its usually cooled enough to roll the windows up, but the AC doesn't get turned down til about halfway home.

Today went pretty good, honestly better than I expected with a brand new bunch of 4yr olds. We have FOUR that won't even be four years old til later - two boys the end of this month (one girl JUST turned four earlier this week), and twin girls whose birthday is literally the cut off date - Sept 1st. So they won't turn 4 til then. I think 3 others have a bday in Sept - but those will be turning 5. What a range of ages. We have about 4 kids that I think will be handfuls - two for certain (a boy and a girl!)!!! A few that are going to be followers (ugh I don't like that because they usually end up following the ones making bad choices instead of good choices lol). Most of them are pretty well behaved and have manners!! LOVE IT Even the wilder ones have manners! We had one that didn't even show up today! :o He came to open house, so I'm not sure why not. - I was looking forward to getting to know him, because we had his older brother who was a sweetheart. And the sister always seemed pretty nice too (much older sister - like 4th or 5th grade this year).
