Gonna go to bed. Will dance a bunch in the morning if it starts in the morning - Nathan has a DR apt, so I have half a day off work. Then I'll be busy running around again. I went to the Human Resources today, so I need 2yrs of college and they'll bump up my pay. I talked to a few people and got a little info and a meeting link (PL) where I can go ask questions of OTHER people... Then went to college to get my books for summer classes, found out my fall classes require actual textbooks. THEN realized I had left my debit card at home....wondered what I did with the cash I had in my purse, got almost all the way home and got a call from a strange # so the voicemail said it was from the college.... they called 2x more but I was driving and didnt' have my headset, so the last time I pulled into the driveway so I answered - evidently i dropped stuff out of my purse when I got out of the car to go into the bookstore.... they'd picked up my covid record card, and "some other things? Can you tell us what else you may have dropped?" "What were you wearing?" "We will check our video to make sure this was you, and if you can come in tomorrow to pick it up?" Turns out i HAD had cash in my purse, I'd dropped it. And when on the phone I had absolutely NO IDEA how much it was...but after thinking about it, looking at receipts and remembering yesterdays errends....I realized I'd dropped at leats $120!!! :( UGH. SO. I get to go to DR, get lunch, go to work, then go to college and talk to campus cops, and THEN go to bookstore and get online access to my books for summer. sigh

Well I've already gone through the items directory and picked out what I wanted. As usual, it's not much. Woke up early this morning due to a cat knocking s/thing over that broke - think it was my small glass wind chime - but at least I slept really good last night so I feel pretty good.

Yaaaah. I usually have the purse in my bookbag for work. Or I make sure its snapped and zipped up. But yesterday I just grabbed it out of the bookbag and walked into the college and didn't realize it wasn't snapped until I went to pay. I doubled checked INSIDE to see if I dropped anything, but NOT outside. sigh And I've had such brain fog this past week or so....no clue what "might" have dropped out. At least I figured it out and can tell them when I go back today to pick up my covid card and HOPEFULLY get the cash back. They said they'd check the video and I'm sure if I can tell them the approximate amount, they'll believe me and return it.

I've never understood what causes people to shoot any other people. Never. To me you shoot animals for food, or to scare off a predator (human or otherwise, in self-defense), to just up and shoot randomly for whatever reason makes no sense to me. I don't care if you are angry/mad/upset/depressed - I don't understand why you think shooting a gun makes sense. Any kind of injury to others either honestly.

I always forget I can go look at the directory to select the items I want, sometimes when I do do that, I mark something I don't actually want/need because it LOOKS like a book or food but isn't :P At least the beanbags, plushies and stickers are always MARKED as beanbag, plushie or sticker!! LOL

Yay forum points for us both. I like beginning an event as soon as it starts, but I'm not usually able to as I'm at work haha. I am so used to events having glitches I just roll with it. I will probably click to dance with people that have links, like us, and not make the new board til later. (I won't be too crazy busy at work today or this week at all, since MY part is mostly just removing items from the room, and I"mma have Nathan help with the heavy things today! Since he will be with me for his DR apt and then dad will come get him after he finishes his running around). Tho someone else is always welcome to make the board too LOL

I wondered how much of a pay increase a move to "Step 3-A" would be - as that's what I was told I would get when I finished 2 yrs (which will take me longer) of college credits (meaning, I earned enough credits for an associates degree) - So I had to figure out what my rating was right now.... A whole 60cent more per hour is what I would get increased pay for 2 yrs of college credits that will take me probably at least 3yrs or maybe 4 to get. Sigh. Its things like that - that I shouldnt look up, because that is actually kind of depressing to me. I guess I thought there would be a bigger difference. I dunno if I should try and look up what a first year teacher in PreK would make or not :P To be fair, it does add up. AND anything increased in my pay will be helpful. I do not earn a lot. (I earn more than other para's only because I work in PreK and am required to work 1hr more per day and 6 more days per year - so I guess I shouldn't complain TOO much)!

Oh wow, that's not much at all! Is your schooling mostly paid for by your current position? I mean, if not, that certainly doesn't seem like it's going to be worth the expenditures of 3+ years to get.

No, I am paying on my own. I did learn earlier that if I get hired at a title 1 school (which most in my county are) and work for 5 yrs, I can get up to 80% of my student loans paid off.... At the moment, I have yet to pay for anything however, due to low tuition, federal pell grant, and covid relief funds for students. I have actually been PAID to go to school the last two semesters due to the covid relief funds. So like, I get a certain amount for pell, it pays up to that amount regardless of how many classes I take, but it ONLY pays a certain amount per class. So since I take 2 classes it only pays part of what I could get, since it gives me an amount for up to 6 classes per semester. In my case, it costs me about $1600 for 2 classes right now. Pell gives me about $1480 for those 2 classes. Leaving me with a balance of $120 to pay. Then to my surprise, I get covid relief funds my first semester that pays the $120 before I did. (I had no idea when my $ was due and was waiting for them to tell me, but they didn't and I got that). THEN 1.5-2m into the semester I get a notification they are refunding me $300 covid relief funds :o Ok thanks, I'll take it! This past semester, I paid the $120 as I knew the due date. THEN again!! I get a notice, they are refunding me $350 covid relief funds :o So ok!! I have paid my $120 for summer semester. I do not know if I will get any more covid relief funds. And I have to wait and see what my PELL will be for fall semester to know how much I'll need to pay for tuition (it may change, tho my income didn't change that much, they use tax return income from like 2yrs ago to see how much to grant you with).

Its really going to be the tuition when I get into a "teachers" program at a more expensive school that will cost me. But as I said, I was told i could possibly have those loans paid off later on, so i've got to weigh that in as well in my decision. Got to head out, will check in later on my phone ;)

Where are these covid relief funds still coming from?! I've talked to a couple small business owners that were able to stay open and they barely saw shit to help them out.
"After" 5yrs doesn't seem very feasible, either. Anything can happen in 5yrs. So if it took you 3yrs to complete the classes and then had to wait 5yrs to get reimbursed, we're talking 8yrs from now.
That's just how I look at it.

LOL DannyS. It was rather funny in the moment. She's 22yrs old and b/c of her BC (depo shot), pretty much never has a period anymore. So I had to joke w/ her about what does she know about tampons anymore. :P

And yeah, it was an experiment. I wanted to see if they would start growing and now that they have, I will put them in my veggie garden.

In the middle of the first summer of the pandemic (isn't it wild to be able to say that?), in the process of figuring out little ways to make our food staples last, I learned that you could chop the bulbs off of store-bought green onions and re-grow them. I planted mine in a little 10-inch pot I had, and moved them around the house each day to follow the sunlight. Drove my boyfriend crazy to walk around the house and suddenly find, for example, a pot of half-grown onions on the kitchen floor! (Our windows are not placed optimally for indoor plants.)

Oh it's awesome how many things you can actually regrow. You know you're getting mostly non-gmo when you can replant it b/c gmo seeds/plants are designed not to regrow, so farmers have to buy new seeds each year.

Good Morning Ladies. Well. Sort of. My headache is back. And the dog pissed on the carpet, literally in the middle of the hallway RIGHT in front of the gate (I have a gate to keep them in the LR because they used to go pee/poop in the bedrooms when I first got them). Also I made tea, but now I'm out of sugar, so I can't make kool-aid.

And with that lovely start off to my morning, I am going to go get started on my psych module 3 and get it done in the next few days. At least then I won't have to worry about schoolwork til I get home Sunday night. Just in time to figure out how to juggle schoolwork and fireworks hahah. Glad we have internet there so I can at least read/note-take at the stand, and I plan to do the tests/quizzes in the mornings before I go up there.
