No worries! I meant to get back sooner but I've been a little busy. I was gone for a 3-day convention last week and then ran errands all weekend.
The caramel apple pie was yummy! It would have been better if I had remembered to add cinnamon sugar to the top crust.
I agree, The women's clinic in the hospital doesn't even have magazines to look through in the waiting room, so if you don't have a book along, you're SOL and have a very long wait ahead.
I understand Chris's intentions, but it does get slightly annoying because I'm used to getting stuff done myself instead of waiting for someone's help. I have been trying to take it easy since my left hip has been bothering me more frequently. It constantly keeps rotating out of alignment. I'm hoping that tonight we can get boxes of fabric moved so I have something productive to do tomorrow and Friday.
Thanksgiving with the in-laws went as well as I expected, maybe slightly worse (details in the spoiler)

I have no idea and I never researched what kind of bush this was. It didn't produce flowers and anytime we trimmed up the branches it would look like it was dying. Luckily, none of our trees attract flies. I don't really sort out my clothes anymore because almost everything I have now is a cold wash. I do wash my towels separately though because I wash them hot and with vinegar. Chris doesn't like doing laundry and just wants it done as quickly as possible.
Picking a name has been difficult, we still haven't decided on one but we've found three that we like. Before the in-laws left after we hosted Thanksgiving, his youngest brother started throwing out dumb name suggestions and I'd had enough of the in-laws that day and flat out said that Chris and I are not open to taking name suggestions. I'm just hoping they can get all the ultrasound pics they need at this appointment because I don't want to go back.
I'm super picky about my food too, especially chicken strips. If I find cartilage or anything slimy in one chicken strip, I'm breaking open the rest to check. I'll eat a soggy taco only if the bottom is soggy, not the whole shell.
Yeah, SIL is due in February and I'm due late March/early April (the upside for me is that MIL will be off Facebook for Lent when I'm due). Yeah, that is very true. And it can sometimes be extremely difficult to tell if a profile is fake or not, but I wouldn't be surprised if some of the friend requests I've gotten in the past were from fake accounts. My grandparents never called me 'my baby' and I never heard my mom call my nephew that either. It's rude and makes it seem like they have some right to be/feel possessive about the baby. My MIL is definitely entitled because she just assumed she would get so much use out of the crib she bought, but I think she tries to make it a less obvious entitlement. It's going to be even harder for her to understand how the holidays will work next year though since SIL decided (without asking anyone else) to host Christmas on Christmas day, which just hands MIL what she wants on a silver platter.
Oh, I know she would, she would also just brag about how proud she is to become a grandma or how she'll be the best grandma ever. I'm half tempted to ask Chris's aunt (MIL's sister) if she would be interested in helping put on a baby shower because I get along with her so much better (she's noticed when I'm overwhelmed at gatherings and checks that I'm ok, and actually cares about how I'm doing when she checks in on me whenever Chris is gone for military stuff). We planned to include a little note in our Christmas cards that we are expecting and have a registry set up on Amazon. We mostly only send cards to family and some friends.
Thanksgiving went ok, I guess. His parents brought their elderly dog (she honestly needs to be put down), hadn't informed me, and had only let Chris know 2 nights before. They walked right into the house with the dog, started putting her dog bed down in the living room and the cats instantly freaked out. Kept acting like it wasn't a big deal that the dog was bothering our cats that much even though both Chris and I said that it better not cause our cats to start peeing in the living room from the stress. I finally had enough with the dog partway through lunch because she wouldn't stay in her bed, so she got taken outside. It really bugged me that they just assumed it would be fine to have the dog in the house when they should have asked if she could be brought in. Chris's little brother is still as immature as he always has been (made some dumb comments during a game and I said he could go outside with the dog, later in the evening he thought it was cool and funny that declawing a cat removes part of their phalanges...didn't think it was so cool when I asked him how he would like it if someone cut off all his fingertips) Chris announced the gender to his parents before lunch and his dad made the comment that since Chris and I are having a boy, it means the middle brother and his wife will have a girl, which kinda ruined the mood for the rest of the day. Then we had to tell them three times that they don't need to post about it on Facebook. They kept saying we'll wait to post until you post something, we answered that they don't need to post anything and that went back and forth until Chris finally said they will not be making a post about the gender. (I'm not making that announcement on FB until next week).
At Christmas with my parents, we'll sometimes play board games, especially if someone got a new board game. Or my brother would bring a game over that he knew I would like (like Harry Potter Clue). The games my in-laws and their family do are very annoying, I'm just not going to participate in them this year. I asked Chris last night if we could drive around our town and the next one on Christmas Eve or Christmas Day in the evening to look at the lights. There's a house a couple of blocks down from ours that has a huge display set up every year. There's also a house an hour away that goes all out decorating for Halloween and Christmas. They fill all available space in their yard with inflatables. I love looking at Christmas lights but haven't gotten to do that in a few years. We haven't got any snow yet, but nasty weather is supposed to move in this weekend. I wouldn't mind having some snow right now to cover up the dead grass in the yard.
I had to call Chris into the kitchen last weekend when he made the gender announcement because it seemed like he was awfully close to letting slip that I might be due earlier. I have zero issues with my parents knowing that the due date moves, but not the in-laws.
Yes, in the past I was always worried if a package was delivered or not and where it was left (we've had some drivers leave it in front of the garage in view of the road). We've got a return we need to make to Amazon (expensive gift that won't work for us) and I know if we don't have it packed in a box it will disappear. MIL will either be distracted by the other grandbaby (especially if it's a girl) or because ours will be new, she'll ignore the other baby at first. I'm trying to prep myself for the fact that I may experience PPA that could get worse if MIL gets grabby.
We get our fuel at the local co-op because we can charge it to our account and pay for everything at the end of the month, but if we're out running errands we'll get fuel at Sam's or Dillons to get their discounts. We already know trips will be a pain in the butt with a baby, packing-wise. We purposefully didn't put a pack-and-play on our registry so we can have an excuse to not travel as often. But even then, the stroller and later on, the highchair, will mostly fill up the cargo space in back.

At least it was still good :) I have forgotten things like that a lot! Thankfully it was always something simple that really didn't affect the food.
My doc office has mostly medical magazines! Who wants to sit and read about horrible medical conditions while they are waiting to see a doc?!?!? 0_0

I know! You are giving another human a piece of their identity that they will carry with them forever! It isn't like naming a pet or something. Huge decision! Good for you hugs naming your child is very personal and I know you don't need any help from them!
I think I ended up having 3 ultrasounds. Each one was torture! I was so happy to have it over and done with. I loved being pregnant, but I hated all the doc appointments and tests.
Oh I am extremely picky when it comes to chicken and other meats. Always so paranoid about getting something undercooked.

Well that is good at least. Yeah there are so many fake things out there that can look so real 0_0 It is deff rude and just seems weird to lay claim to someone else's child. She makes it seem like you were just going to leave your baby with her. I never thought about getting a crib for any of the babies that didn't actually live with me! Geeze it seems like all you have to do is point at her youngest son to show how doubtful that would be lol. Spoiling a child does not make you the best! Awe it is great that at least you have his Aunt in your life. She sounds very sweet. I would deff ask her! I gave up on cards a long time ago. Not that I really have anyone to send them to lol.
Dang that is so inconsiderate of them. You can't take a pet into a house that already has pets! Especially if you know that they might freak out. Your cats live there and they have to come first in their own home! I could never do something like that. Especially without asking first. OMG that kid sounds so annoying! Before she starts talking about being a wonderful grandma she should think about doing a better job with him!! Sorry if that comes off as harsh, but he really seems annoying. Sorry they put a damper on your day hugs that was a really crappy thing to do. I don't see why there is a back and forth. You should be able to say what you want and then they should just say "ok" and accept it!
A real game is deff a lot better then some weird random game. I wouldn't want to participate either. If they try to drag you into it you can always just hide in the bathroom for a few minutes! You have the perfect excuse. When I was pregnant I practically lived in the bathroom lol. We have been going out almost every night to see the lights. A lot more people are still decorating. Don't blame you at all! If they can't be trusted to keep a secret, then it is better to keep them out of the loop as long as you can.
Ugh I hate returning packages. I wish there was an easier way to do it. Having to repack it and stuff is a pain! Hopefully she will be distracted and leave you alone :)

I didn't want it in the 1st place and now I have 2 of them. I can't find in the news post what the new sub bonus item is supposed to be but I don't think I should get 2 in a row. ???

OMG they said the CW sale would slow things down but this is ridiculous. I've been waiting for 20 minutes for pages to load. OK I've bought most of the CW items that I really wanted. Only ones left are CWs I don't need/want that badly. But a lot of the CWs on my WL aren't for sale. I hope everybody got the CWs they wanted in the sale. :D
