It's been quiet. :) My boys had their first snow day yesterday and they definitely took advantage of the almost foot of snow we got! Today my husband and older son went out and picked up Christmas trees with his Boy Scout Troop. It's the big fundraiser for them.

"There are 0 items in the Donation Corner." I tossed in a few hundred scratch cards, new year tokens and trinkets including a couple bags of trinkets. Everything went fast. Hope some of those went to Sharks. :D

I finally finished editing my post. I really thought I had done that already. Sorry it took so long, but these days have been crazy. Back pain driving me nuts. Takes me a little longer to get things done. I really need a more comfortable chair to sit in.

Hmm, wonder what happened to mysterious melody. Maybe she's mysterious because she's missing? Oh well hadn't planned on doing it any way unless they have changes to make it more fair. If anybody needs to throw snow balls please feel free to toss the Icy Snowballs my way. :)

I was wondering about that too. I haven't seen any new announcements about it.

Maybe they gave up on MM because too many problems making it fair. Or they're considering what someone posted in a forum about doing it another time of year and calling it something else. One person said there isn't enough going on in December while others said it's a lot with daily cottage, gifting, trees, etc. I would love for them to pick a date where there isn't anything else to give us something to do then.

Since I stopped my Subeta sub, I made it harder to mass remove things from the wardrobe and I greatly reduced how much I can stuff in my shop. I mostly see Reader's Digest at thrift stores. I'm not sure if my parents still have a subscription to it. It was frightening. I spent most of the day looking out the window to check on the fence. By the time Chris got home, the fence was still up and I figured it would be fine so we went downstairs to get the Christmas tree out. We were down there for maybe an hour and a half when the power went out and by the time we got back upstairs, the back half of the fence was gone. Luckily, the dogs were curled up in the dog house, so we didn't have to go searching for them, There's a hay field behind our house and one of the local farmers plowed a fire break in the field as a precaution. The large fire was half an hour away from us, and we could smell the smoke all night. hugs thanks, I'm glad we were able to stay safe as well.

SPOILER (click to toggle) I sidestepped the bush when I heard the buzzing and moved about 5 feet away from it, didn't want to risk getting stung if they were bees. I'd set the bush on fire, but it's planted about 2 maybe 3 feet from the house. Chris cut that bush down to the stump in August, I think, and it's still clinging on to life by sprouting up new branches. The vinegar has helped my towels smell better and feel softer, so I wonder just how much hard water residue had built up on them. I have a few white shirts but I don't wear them very often because they always end up being a bit see-through or I drop something on them and stain them. I don't divide my laundry up into too many loads because I get tired of walking across the house to swap things around. I did the same thing in college because I wanted to make as few trips to the basement as possible. Thanks. We now have two potential full names picked out...William David or Theodore (mom's grandfather) David. I did some digging online last week to try and find and some info on my mom's side of the family. I was only able to go back as far as names for great-great-grandparents and then I started hitting paywalls on genealogical websites. I like both names, however, I've never heard a positive thing said about my mom's grandfather, so I'm hesitant to pick that name. I have zero tolerance for the kid and I've had to call him out on stuff more often lately, and I honestly don't care what the in-laws think about what I have to say. I know I caught MIL off-guard when I said we weren't taking name recommendations because she stuttered a bit before responding. I had to tell the kid off during a D&D one-shot (Chris DM'd it so his little brother could practice running his character) because he cast an area of effect spell that hurt the other players in the party and laughed when he was told he hurt them. We deff got a better profile image the second time. I probably should have asked for another pillow during the ultrasound once the heartburn started, but I didn't want it to take any longer than it had to. I passed the 1-hour test, I didn't have to do the 3-hour test yesterday. I didn't have to stay at the clinic for the full hour during the first test, I had the option to, but Chris and I had some stuff to donate to a thrift store, so we did that and came back to the clinic 45 minutes later. I wanted to drink water so bad 10 minutes after I finished that drink though, but at the same time really needed a bathroom too. I'm glad that they had a non-strawberry option available too. I really didn't want to drink the fruit punch one and end up having a reaction...I probably would have ended up staying in the hospital even longer. We really like ours, so much so that we got rid of our traditional fryer. We use it every time we have chicken strips or french fries and we've used it for tater tots and cheese sticks too. It did a decent job cooking steak fingers, which is great because they're so messy to make in an oil fryer. If we want something to come out of the air fryer crispier, all we have to do is spritz it with oil, like olive oil or veggie oil. I plan to spend less time around my MIL this year because I really don't want to travel far for any holiday and I know that's when she will expect us to visit the most. My mom has only been around Chris's side of the family three times, once for Easter, once for Thanksgiving, and then at our wedding. My mom has only met Chris's aunt once at the wedding and I don't know if they ever talked to each other, but I think they would get along just fine. I already have a tentative guest list put together and MIL is not on it and Chris has said he doesn't care if his mom has an issue with not being invited. A few weeks ago, she sent out a Facebook message with mattress and crib sheet protector options, telling us we needed to have both and they could be purchased at Walmart. Their reasoning for why they couldn't leave the dog at home was that she makes too much of a mess in the bathroom and would pee everywhere. That's another thing I need to discuss with Chris, that I don't want that dog around our kid if his parents do come to visit. I don't see the kid ever becoming a vet either because he would struggle with the pre-req classes that involve math (Chemistry 1&2, Physics, Bio-Chem) and no college professor is going to be lenient about missing assignments. He's a junior in high school and still has to be asked if he has homework. That will be an ongoing struggle with MIL, trying to get her to realize that she is not number one in her son's lives anymore and that she can't have everything remain as it 'always' was. It became very apparent after Chris and I got married that it seemed like my family just went poof as soon as the wedding was over. Chris and I tried to start our own holiday traditions 3 years ago, but that didn't really stick. However this year, I will try to do a better job of starting some traditions (starting small), even if it's just opening gifts and stockings in the morning for the first few years. 😢 It sucked and was so draining to be around that for the whole day. The only acknowledgment we got was when we were told to get professional pictures after baby is born and then when we were given a gift bag of baby clothes that we had to open in front of everyone. I think I may have been my grandmother's favorite, but she never made it obvious when my cousins were around because they all lived out of state and only came to visit three times a year. I'm so sorry that you had to deal with that growing up. That's one thing I don't want to put my child through because they will pick up on it when they're older and then they'll question why they aren't good enough for grandma and grandpa. I have the website saved on my phone so I can show the in-laws how insane they're being with the photo request. The $695 option is the only one (from that studio) that includes photos of the newborn with mom and dad. There's a cheaper option that is only photos of the newborn, and I would not be surprised if the in-laws told us to go with that option. I know they only want the photos so they can show them off and brag. Chris confirmed that his mother will expect to be handed the baby as soon as she walks in and that she would consider helping out being her holding the baby. My BIL and SIL said they don't want any visitors for the first two weeks, so Chris and I chimed in that it would be the same for us. However, two weeks after my due date is Easter, which I know MIL will expect everyone to be at her house for...not gonna deal with that. So, no visits from in-laws for a month and that may or may not get extended. I'll probably have Chris ask his brother how their first visit goes so we can prep ourselves. The travel bassinet folds flat and has it's own storage bag, so it will deff be useful for a lot of things. I was looking at a box of newborn diapers and it had a chart of how many diapers you need a day for each size. The average number of diapers needed per day for newborns was 8. So if we traveled anywhere (like the in-laws) we would need to have at least 10 diapers (to play it safe), plus a number of outfit changes, wipes, bottles, and formula and play Tetris to fit it all in the diaper bag.
No worries! I kept myself busy last week cleaning my desk and getting it better organized (I let stuff pile up too quickly). Sorry to hear about the back pain hugs, it's always a bother to deal with. My back has been painful more often lately, even if I'm just sitting on the couch. Good luck with the chair search. Seems like all the office chairs with great lumbar support are expensive.

I don't think there is a lot going on in Dec. It only takes about a minute to visit the cottage, and gifting does not really take that long. I just wish they would tell us if they gave up on it or not,

Oh no :( yeah that would make me not want to do it at all. I hate all that clicking. Yeah I haven't heard anything about new issues or anything. Dang that sounds terrible. So glad your dogs didn't freak out and run off!! Ugh the smell of smoke is not good at all :(

SPOILER (click to toggle) Edit here
Thanks :) I always need to be better organized. I know I say this a lot, but I need to edit later :( just can't sit here that much longer tonight. Sorry hugs
