Thank you for starting up another thread. :) I'm not sure when I joined Subeta but I know it was November sometime. It's been a while.
Welcome, I hope you enjoy yourself here. I'm the same when it comes to the forums. I should talk more but I'm never sure what to say.
Hello, how goes it? I hope the pandemic starts settling down for you soon.
Thank you! I think so too :)
Thank you! I love switching up my HA. I definitely do have a lot on my plate but all good things, just trying to find that elusive life balance. Best of luck with school, I can't imagine what that would be like to start in such strange times. What kind of books are you into? Maybe we can swap recs and keep growing out TBR lists lol.
Thank you! I always wonder how to get started and decided to just jump in.
Hope you all are well and thank you for the warm welcome. I'm looking forward to sticking around :)
Hey, welcome!! Always glad to make new friends here. :)
I'm known here as "Spring" and outside of subeta world some of my friends call me that too. I live in the South East USA (though I'm Alaska grown), and have two kiddos. I worked for 15 years as a virtual assistant/social media manager/customer service and retention person for a meal plan and cookbook service, but with COVID, my job was phased out as a money-saving measure. I am currently home educating my kids, run a small business with my husband, and turned half of my yard into a garden here in the city and I hope I have enough tomatoes and peppers to share with my neighbors and on the campus my husband works on this year!
Trauma Focused Therapy is a really amazing thing. I know that so many people I know have benefited and been saved with help from people in your profession, so I thank you for being a part of that service.
I have a massive TBR list too. Someone shared Kindle Unlimited with me and oh.my.goodness. I love a good "hard copy" of books, but having the ability to read almost every book out there has been magical for me. :D What are you reading now?
Thank you! What a massive shift you've gone through this year, wow. I'd love to learn how to grow my own veggies too, maybe once I get out of this apartment I'll ask for some tips :)
I just got kindle unlimited too and it's been SO dangerous, I'm spending all my free time reading! Right now I've started reading about 5 books but I keep hoping back and forth, which makes no sense but oh well. I love fantasy and romance, and I'm working my way through the Cruel Prince, the Air Awakens series, and I just finished A Crown of Gilded Bones. I also started but didn't finish the Daughter of Smoke and Bone series, and I keep meaning to go back to that... but there are so many books I want to read!
It will be 82 today... when it's been in the 90's. I'll be happy to send all the heat you want your way ;)
Thank you! I am still working out the paperwork.. so we'll see. I am right there with you on the work life balance. Still trying to learn that myself ;)
As for books, I am into fanatasy, horror, adventure, mystery, mangas and honestly, almost everything. If it catches my eye, it's on the list. I love hardbacks but also am reading on my tablet. The pandemic helped me really get into e-books when previously I would always hit up my local libraries/bookstores. Really helpful for the budget lol. What are you currently reading? Is it something you'd recommend?

Same for e-books! I love kindle unlimited, and then I buy hardbacks of my faves. Right now I'm reading the Cruel Prince and the Air Awakens series, I'm on the fourth book in that. I tend to jump from book to book when I get bored. I also started Six of Crows but haven't picked it back up in a while, but I really want to read it.
Recommendation wise, my favorites are fantasy and romance, but if you like darker stuff too I loved the Nevernight series. I just finished reading through the three books in the From Blood and Ash series and loved that but it's not finished so you have to be ready to wait, which is rough because it's really good. I also really loved House of Earth and Blood by Sarah J Maas.
I will buy almost anything with a pretty cover though, Barnes and Noble is dangerous. I can literally go on forever, the number of books I've read since the pandemic started is honestly ridiculous, but I'm loving it!
90s already this time of year? Damn.. Its literally 8C (49F?) as the highest today and 2C (like 39f?) tonight ππ but this is bc we have a cold air.
yea! Reading books is good haha! I got started on harry potter when the pandemic hits. Im on my sixth book, so gonna finish all soon :3 Ive more books waiting to be read lol So far, HP is the most enjoyable book!
I have a horrible confession, I've never read HP. Seen every movie, but I never read a single book. Maybe I should pick them up? I loved the movies. Anything magical will hook me.
im into magical or mysterious books too xD
haha im quite the opposite.. ive only watched the 2nd movie, HP and the chamber of secrets.
You should ^^ i dont plan on watching any more HP movies tho bc i find some sound effects scary π Reading the books is much more peaceful haha
I just read HP this year for the first time! Im mid 30s, so I figured it I needed to catch up. I was surprised and actually really enjoyed the series! All on Kindle Unlimited so... it's a good year to read them? hehe. :)
Sorry for the late reply, been dealing with computer issues.
Sounds like we are very similar in terms of what we read! <3 I just finished "Court of Silver Flames" by Sarah J. Maas. It was enjoyable but a bit slow in the beginning for me.. which her other books in the series I would finish very quickly but I found myself reading more slowly. Normally if I get into a book, I am known to finish in a day or two. It's probably not healthy but I tend to really enjoy that distraction to be honest. I haven't had a chance to read Six of Crows but it has caught my eye. I also am a sucker for a nice cover LOL.
Yeah, it's normal for us to get hot most of the year. Our coolest day this week will be 70 during the day and 59 overnight.. only because we will be having rain on and off the next few days. I'd love more cooler days! :) If I could move, I would.

I see!!! I'd love to move to a warmer place LOL! But everywhere in Canada is cold..
I read Silver Flames too! It was slower for me as well, but I also really enjoyed it. I think I've read all of Sarah J Maas's books at this point, and I'm anxiously awaiting book two in her newer series. Did you see they're turning A Court of Roses and Thorns into a show? I think on Hulu maybe... I'm very interested to see who the cast will be.
I'd trade you if I could ;)
Glad it wasn't just me. I was about to restart the series to see if I had just missed something since it took awhile for the new book. I heard about the show! I don't know who will be the cast but I can't wait. I can only hope it's done well. Sometimes I get torn between the books and movies/show adaptations because they cut so much from the adaptation. Trying not to be disappointed but it seems to be getting better. I haven't started her other new series (torn between waiting and binging). What would you recommend?

No you don't want the brutal freezing winter we have.... at the worsest times the temperature could go down to -20C. I just checked the conversion apparently -20C=-4F O_O
That makes sense. You may be onto something ;) People here already don't know how to drive..and to mix in heavy snow, it would be catastrophic. We've had 2 storms that I know of here where there has been tiny snowflakes seen.. but nothing really heavy to stick. We just get hurricanes here. Today was pretty warm again and I would love to send some your way if I could :( 50-80F in the day would be grand for me. It's open window weather and I don't have to turn on the heat/AC would be a big win.
How are you doing?

Oh dear.... yea so we have snow tires which are better in the snow, more grooves in them making them more slippery resistant :) but even with the snow tires, when there's a big storm, I'm not going out, lol. Low visibility on the roads too can increase the chance of getting car accidents x.x snow storms is not the worst tbh.... the worst is when we have freezing rain, which is literally ice, accidents everywhere even with the most experienced drivers! Oh yea, when nothing's sticking, we don't call it snow storms, LOL! We can definitely drive in that, without snow tires too! XD
I've never experienced a hurricane.... but from what I've heard from the world known hurricane (Like hurricane Katrina) it's very scary D: Even worse than a blizzard I feel lol. I'd rather have a blizzard than a hurricane. Oh it's also a warm weather here and we have opened our windows, it's 62.6F! Very warm here XD
Who's ready for vesnali? I'm crossing my fingers it'll be soon, but with everything being pushed back do you think it could maybe be delayed till June?
