I haven't been a restocker since the Balloon Hut closed, but maybe I'll give it another shot! This looks promising.
I'm a little anxious, because I like and have gotten used to the current system, but I'll keep an open mind. I'm not sure why people are saying they are hard to understand - they've been very easy for me to figure out.
The prices in user shops are because of demand, it's easy to see. Some very rare older items are still pretty inexpensive because - everyone who wants one has one, no one needs one, so even though new ones come into existence very seldom, the price is still low. That's normal economics :D
5 levels seems a bit steep of step-offs, even the named levels now are more than that (mundane, really common, common, normal, rare, super rare - it's 7, not 5)
Will the higher rarities come down to match? So like 100 becomes 6, etc? In terms of the numbering. All the numbers aren't being used, so having them fall in line would still leave relatively few numbers, I think.
How will it affect the Subeautique items? They definitely restock more often than their same rarity would in other shops.
How about the lizard events that reward rarity 99 items with the expensive traps/spray? Will they be giving out level 5 items?
Haven't read all of this but think it's time to frag my hoard. :P

What was the question?
I myself don't restock apart from when I'm questing. Although, all of this may change my mind.

Shop restocks being limited to certain days is going to make questing less fun, but otherwise so far so good.
I would also do bad things for the ability to account search items in restocking shops.

THIS is the sort of update I'm thrilled about! Gameplay updates like this!
I'm really glad to see it. The new subscriptions, the wardrobe, and the other talk -- I feel pretty great about where Subeta's going. I've been spending more time on here lately than in years and I'm looking forward to continuing that trend.
Oh my gosh, with the change in restocking schedule I am tempted to go emtpy my shop until these changes are pushed thru just so I have some items to sell while everything is settling down. I haven't done regular restocking in years, I am still selling off my massive item hoard in chunks, and I don't fancy starting restocking again. But I am so looking forward to checking out the new shop system. I'm kinda liking that certain shops restock certain days per week.
I love RSing, so this seems like a big overhaul.
Seems like it'll affect how I play Subeta for sure.. good or bad thing, I don't know, haha.
Whatever happens I hope it's not something that gets drawn out over months and years...
Ooh, this sounds interesting. I'm keen to see how/if this affects things like higher rarities and vending/fragging/the mystery box. It wouldn't make sense to have R1-5 and then some rarities in the hundreds.
I'm very curious about all this and can't wait to see how it all unfolds! Good luck!
Wow you've done so much for all of us thank you
I'm a bit nervous as well, especially the specific restocking days.
I think that idea might have to be dropped after testing because some users might be unable to get on Subeta on certain weekdays due to internet connection, RL responsibilities, etc.
Were there any major issues that resulted from competitive restocking? I wasn't on the site back then. I know that neopets struggled with competitive stocking and it played a role in many users leaving that site....

, you stated quest asking for items will be changed to reflect the new rarity system, up to the current R99. My question is: Will the items over r100 stay the same? I find the R system on these "higher" rarity easier for finding items (EX. Game Prize r160, Holiday item r175, Retired r101, ect.) Will they be converted to the new rating system as well? Thanks.
Ehh if competitive restocking is coming back like people are saying, I won't get much fun off it. The internet in my country isn't the best out there. It'll definitely give those with better speeds (aka, more money to pay for better connection) the upper hand. But I'll wait and see.
The more I think about it, it should all be great. What could possibly go wrong? :P

As someone who relies solely on restocking/quests to get sp I really really have to say I dislike the idea of shops only stocking new things on certain days. I feel like that is going to make restocking incredibly boring. I also restock daily and I don't want to lose the ability to be able to do that
Interesting...
From the notes on the image, it looks like there will be less refresh frenzy to restock common-ish (r1-4) items. Items stocked will presumably be random per user to provide a wider distribution and avoid tons of the same item hitting the market. Slower pace, but give a lot of value to restock items to sell. Probably a system to maintain the availability of an item globally will be needed to avoid items going out of existence...
A lot of guessing on my part, but exciting to see these changes. R5 will probably be the super competitive scene.. especially since you no longer need to know / see the item from a sea of other items.
i wonder how this will reflect for fragging.....
The restocking on different days thing is interesting.
Like I'm wondering if... the goal if to get stuff more out of peoples shops? Like I feel like we have so many items in user shops that yeah.. limited RSing days won't have much of an effect lol
