You have to go back to 2011 to have it start on a weekend, and it's because it always used to start on October 15th.

Morostide includes a lot of items being added, compared to any other holiday. It's possible the biggest holiday, so it makes sense to start it on a wekday, as most staff members can monitor it.

Oh, I thought it started early that year cause it was Friday the 13th which they thought was an appropriate date to start it. But yes, I guess that means that unless they end up delaying it until next week, it should be starting today or tomorrow.

I didn't realise it used to be the same date until a few years after I joined. I wonder what made them change it to something less strict?

Also, is the egging and TP-ing supposed to be working already or not?

It's not gonna get delayed to next week, if only because they can't have the event end on any day but the 31st, and if it starts on the 19, we're gonna have 12 days to get two waves of ToTing, plus all pumpkin patch items.

As Morostide is the holiday with the most items, this would be far too much of a chore for the userbase.

Unlike Keelhauliday or Fireside, where the end date doesn't really matter, it is important for Morostide - and Luminaire. We got an usual start date, which is around the 15th, and a firm enddate - the 31st.

But I thought that didn't matter anymore? Wasn't the original reason for Morostide ending on the 21st because that's when Jaxon went away? And now that he's alive again, we don't have to worry about that?

Has Morostide ever been extended in the past because of lag or other issues? I don't remember if it has or not.

Morostide's end has to do with spirits, and less with Jaxon. Hell, Kiyo would technically be as relevant as Jaxon is during Morostide, given that she is some kind of Elder Spirit. Would be cool to have a Kiyo-themed event during Morostide, actually

I guess that makes sense, I was thinking about about the Pumpkin Patch being open. And maybe that's also where some of the challengers come from.

I wonder if there will be a new minion to find for an achievement?

Trance doesn't have a counterpart, so there absolutely will be. Subeta's minion game has been on point lately, with things like Pied Chef and Golden Marauder.

ANYWAY.

Morostide is about spirits, so maybe bring the Kiyo forms back as challengers?

There's usually a day lost from site issues anyway, if it started today (or tomorrow, it's fine), there's a day of padding.

If it doesn't start today we will have a new record lol 19th October. Someday it will begin in October 30 and finishing in October 31 lol

Starting on the 19th would mean we'd only have one full weekend of Morostide, so I seriously hope it does start today D:

Don't know if this was posted but: In light of JK Rowling's incredibly transphobic, harmful, and dangerous views, I think Alexander's Morostide costume should be updated at the earliest convenience of the artists, given the pandemic et. al.

Even as a trans person myself, I hope we don't actually have to cancel Harry Potter just because JK Rowling sucks. I think as a cultural phenomenon it has grown way beyond her and can survive despite her enormous shortcomings as its creator. I like Alexander's Morostide costume and I think it should stay. Open to attempts to CMV though, I don't want to get into a gnarly debate over it or anything. The whole thing's just disappointing and I have mixed feelings.
