Another quick check-in. I've busted what was previously my good shoulder. Got a cortisone shot on Thursday and it's barely done anything, which I figured would be the case but there's a whole song and dance routine required before I can get an MRI. Those of you who've been keeping up with me for the long haul may be aware that I had surgery on my other shoulder a couple years ago. Not looking forward to the possibility of having to go through all of that again but the way this injury feels, there's a good chance surgery is where I'm headed. I'm seeing a different ortho for this one, though, and at the age of 35 2/3 years old I was informed for the first time that I'm technically hypermobile. I'm not full-on double jointed, which is what most people expect with hypermobility, but my tendons and ligaments are a little bit stretchier than they're meant to be and my joints are more prone to injury because of it. In particular, my joints are prone to subluxation or partial dislocation, which makes a whole lot of my past injuries make a whole lot of sense when I really think about it. So basically what we're hoping now is that I accidentally subluxed my shoulder and just irritated or pinched something. Not holding my breath but fingers crossed I guess.

Also, I might be moving in the relatively near future. It's not a definite thing just yet but it's looking pretty likely. There are home repairs that need to be done in my current apartment that can't easily be done while someone is living here and the issues that need repairing may be having a negative impact on my health. More info on all of that as things progress, I guess.
