41. I get new pets when I like pet art enough to want one of my own or when there are free pet slots from events. I automatically start training any pet I adopt. Only pet not training is the forever Tier 1, but that's a weird niche pet made for boss battles.

It's much, much easier nowadays though. I remember when BQs were randomized, on bad days you could walk away with like 6k exp after finishing them. There was a chance of getting Prodigy a bunch for tons of exp, but I think even Abox was also in the mix back then.

I don't remember how many years of constant training and boosting it took to cap my first pet, but Clint, who I've had for 3.5 years and barely train, is already creeping up on T13. And my newest pet I've had for almost exactly a year just hit T11.

I have two battle pets and I haven't read a single book to the second one. I haven't decided how I'm going to give her intel yet.

If I had known better when I joined Subeta, I would have been training all of my pets too. Maybe not boosting or grinding, but at least continuously putting them in TC!

I know what you mean! I joined when I was in college and I'll be 31 in two weeks. Even today, every year for holidays (birthday, christmas, etc.) I always tell my family I want "Subeta referrals" for my gift :D They ignore me after a decade of asking, but I still try.

I didn't do my BQ for the longest time. I find them and Major Drills boring. I think I would be doing much better if I had taken advantage of them more :( I'm trying to be better!

Yeah books are a nightmare to deal with. Not so much expensive for me as much as managing which books everyone has or has not read. Maybe 3 have read a book but the other 3 haven’t still, things like that. xD

6 is extremely manageable, though I always feel inferior compared to those who have 10+ lol

10 can be a handful during site events, but I am only focusing on two pets at a time when I battle otherwise so it's manageable

Yes, there's that too...if I ever decide to train another pet, I'll pick one who has read the most books, which at this point would be Jula...as she was adopted years ago and came with books already read, and I could just vend a whole lot at Blue Sky and get some books there...
