One of the new polls up got me thinking - not many of our NPCs have adopted pets! They've clearly been very busy with their various jobs and quests and events, so I think we can help them out.
Which petless NPCs need which pet? You can give a reason if you like! Possibly suggest names, although you'd have to send them in secret to me! Or you could suggest the KIND of name (silly, planty, sweet, long etc)
We can also talk about who currently has pets and giving them custom designs if they don't have one yet. Maybe a future user competition?

This is funny because earlier today I was in a Discord server with some other people from here and we were talking about pets and at one point we were saying about how we'd like to know more about NPC pets and who has what and stuff, and at one point someone (I don't know if she wants me to name her or not) said "Jaxon's got a minion instead of a pet" and then I said "Maybe now that he's alive, he could get a pet?" So that's one example that could be talked about in this thread.
As for which pet, well, I don't know. One that would get along well with Snowflaik, maybe?
Is there anywhere where we can see which NPCs have which pets? I only know of a few, I don't know if the Subetapedia says them all or not.

i would think an archan or anyu would work ‘cause they’re described as protective (and kain’s thing is defense, so. yep), or one of the more draconic pets (rreign, mahar) could play up to the knight thing he’s got going on. I've always thought that the little sleeping Nuclear Terracoon by the Bluff stand at the carnival would be an adorable pet for Batista if it isn't already(and isn't actually some sort of lifelike doll/plushie). A sneaky little raccoon pet would be perfect for him, plus the color scheme matches.
Pointed out for convenience, in case you don't see it.
- We've thought about that before! It's one of those strange things that I can't even blame on time because Oatmeal is also technically a minion. I feel like Jaxon would have a harvester, particularly after the recent Subetapedia article.
- Ooh, maybe a bhakoru? They sort of have a shield on their heads. I could imagine him riding one like a steed. I'm for some reason picturing Kain like that little fox thing riding the old english sheepdog in Labyrinth. Maybe an escalade? Or a devonti?!

I forgot about Oatmeal, but Gunter can't exactly have a pet right now. What sort of pet though? I'm not too sure.

- that's a great idea! I'm creating Batista his own account so he can have a pet (we only tend to give NPCs their own accounts if they are going to be visible in a plot or something - but they'll more likely end up in plots/events if we feel more drawn to them and pets really help that!)

Or maybe a super ugly pug-ruffie. Fashion people sometimes seem to have a thing for 1: cats, 2: inexplicably ugly pets, 3: both 1 and 2.
!! oh, i was also thinking about a legeica or an antlephore (to help carry his stuff while traveling), but a devonti or bhakoru could be cute!!
(ngl my other thought was a blob because of the gelatins, but that. is maybe a mean suggestion lol)
- Batista now has a nuclear terracoon named Verish (thanks to for that suggestion.
Verish seems the kind of terracoon to pretend to be asleep while they're actually in on the game. Very sneaky, but well trained. Will only obey her companion, though!
: It's gotta be the cat. The cat feels very right - Esme would need something more independent because she's a busy lady, and cats are less messy. Well, her cat is at least. Now for a name - something from the fabric world or fashion related I think?
- I did originally think antlephore actually, but I think they're quite small, although honestly we can play with size on most pets. I think the devonti has that goat stubbornness I like in a pet of Kain's, but the antlephore does have the run away vibe that I think Kain has sometimes! TOUGH ONE

Maybe a seeing-eye bird for Kain to protect him from all those scary bugs.

- I immediately thought fester but then wondered if a mallarchy could do the job. Probably not. An irion could be the best of both worlds - as a mount AND as a bug protector :O

Also, maybe a sort of list or whatever? So people suggesting can have an idea of what NPCs have pets already, which have minions but no pets, and which don't really have much of anything.
