3 things I love about the holiday season:

1. Decorating my Christmas tree. I love getting to put up my tree and decorate it with all my favorite ornaments! I mostly have cute ornaments of cats, mice, and forest critters, along with some horse ornaments and vintage decorations. I tend to leave my tree up until mid-January because I like having it up, though this time it will stay up until my husband comes home from from his deployment. 2)Watching my favorite Christmas movies. I start watching my Christmas movies after Thanksgiving. I try to watch Polar Express, Rudolph and Frosty the Snowman every year, along with A Christmas Carol. I've got a small collection of Christmas movies that's slowly growing and sometimes I end up watching the same movie multiple times before Christmas.
2. Gifts. I love finding out what gifts I got from others, especially if it's something I've never considered getting for myself or something I've wanted but couldn't afford/forgot about buying. I love seeing Christmas trees that are filled with presents and watching everyone tear into the paper to discover their gift.

1. I love shopping for gifts for my loved ones, on and off Subeta.
2. I love all the yummy goodies. I am a good cook. So, I make lots of yummy cookies and cook a lovely ham for Christmas. Not a fan of the calories though. lol
3. I love decorating. This year I got into Elves. So, I bought some elves to decorate my house with. I always decorate a month before Christmas. I will leave my decorations up for a few more weeks.

How sweet! The three biggest things I love about the holiday season is: 1. Wrapping gifts! I've slowly collected a stock of nice twine and ribbon and wax stamps which looks really nice on craft paper. I love wrapping gifts. 2. Winter markets! I live in NYC now so as soon as the holiday season starts to creep up all the markets pop open in the parks. It's great to browse through and find new cool things and the food is always a plus. 3. New Year's Party! A family friend routinely hosts a New Year Party at her home which has always been the highlight of my holiday season ngl. On top of having a gorgeous home there's always a massive showstopper centerpiece, too many desserts, and lots and lots of clappers. It's great.

My favorite things about this time of the year are:

1-Spending quality time with the family. We only see them a couple of times of the year so it's great to spend more than a couple of days together, even if all we do is watch netflix and eat. I truly treasure those moments.

2-Getting gifts for my niece and nephew. They are toddlers and I get so excited when shopping for them, this year I gave them an ice cream and barbecue truck and they were over the moon!

3-The decor, particularly the lights!

1- Luminaire is one of the best times for me on subeta because it shows the best side of the subeta community in my opinion. I love watching everyone come together, fill empty trees, gift randomly, etc. It makes staying easier seeing that side. 2- Christmas is hard for me every year now. In 2003, my granny passed on and she just made Christmas. I always feel her closest to me around this time of year. Once decorations start coming out in September, it reminds me of her and it helps make the season bearable. 3- This was my first year not being with my family for the holidays. It was such a different experience than what I'm used to and I'm still not sure how to describe it. I think my love and I started our own tradition of picking out an ornament, drinking cocoa on Christmas and him opening all his gifts on Christmas eve because he was just too excited to wait. ^_^It was honestly adorable watching this 31 year old man get giddy over his new Batman vs Joker chess set. XD

Cristmas is not widely celebrated in my country, but I really love the aesthetics of it and would like to celebrate if I had a chance ^^ Here is one of the reasons I love Luminaire on Subeta so much.

1. The spirit of sharing and giving. I really love finding and giving Lumi presents. And another tradition that amuses me is filling the empty trees. The moajority of my friends are not on the site anymore so my tree was really empty unless someone spotted that and people filled my tree __ That was reallly awesome and I found the thread and filled other's empty trees too. I've never seen anything like that on any other site.
2. The presents themselves. While I better love giving them, I love receiving too!
3. The decorations. I really love all that sparkly things, and red & green colors are my favourites! It's so great we can decorate our own trees for Lumi!

aaa three things i love about the holiday season !!!!

1. fireworks! where i live there are firework displays for, well, everything x'D. christmas, new year, chinese new year, etc. it's awesome and super beautiful, especially if you go to the harbour to watch at night :').
2. cakes specific to a holiday! (mostly mooncake and christmas pudding lmao). christmas pudding is so /good/ (as long as there aren't any raisins in it gnfdjkgndf) (other fruits though A++). i have like, this craving for mooncake all throughout the year all the way up until the mid-autumn festival asdfghjk.
3. the general feeling of festivity in the air!! like, it's so /tangible/ and christmas-y (even tho i haven't felt it for a couple of years now gfdjkgnd RIP)- i really really miss that feeling! 3.1. terrible christmas songs!!! like, in shopping plazas and shops, i just have a morbid masochism that makes me want to bop along despite the fact they all sound aaaawful (cantonese translations of christmas carols are the Worst) (especially when sung by pop singers gnfjkdgnf) (but still i just) (i also love them gfdjkgnd) 3.2. literally all the food tbh. not just the cake. GIVE ME ALL THE FOOD GFNDJKGN

• getting presents for other people. i love the feeling of seeing people happy when they open gifts i picked out for them... it gives me some sort of fulfillment? knowing that i got them something they can use or like! c: • christmas lights. it's probably common in other places but in my uni, december marks the start of lighting xmas lights and putting decorations. it's much-awaited because the theme varies yearly and the lights are always so breathtaking! • spending time with family. for me, nothing beats celebrating holiday festivities with your loved ones uwu
