I think the minion just needs to be on by the 10th loss, not necessarily the whole time. I know we track the loss number and if the minion is there, but not them together the whole time? That might be way some of you are seeing the challenger unlock after just a few losses (and switch the minion).
I'm pleased how long it took you guys, though. TIME TO TOP IT NEXT MONTH.
Do you have any more hints about what exactly the minion has to be? Because I'm pretty sure I had over 10 losses with the first minion I tried, but it didn't work until I switched it. Even though the first minion was similar to the minion that worked.

It's like a small pool of items with a theme of like dead/graveyard/bones/zombie? I tried to pull from Graveyard Quests and restockables so that it was just one item everyone was going for! There's no general answer like anything with 'bone' in the name or anything though, sorry!

That item didn't pop up when I was searching for things because I was specifically looking for items with the type of 'minion'. :x
Makes sense. At least we know a couple that are pretty common and cheap, so it shouldn't really be an issue for people.
Yeah, I tried to make sure to grab cheap things or like ... still obtainable things to use! Kind of like with the challenger last month, we had a pool of different black cats that would work so it wasn't everyone scrambling for one.
Oh, really? I thought it was just the that worked for last month's, but there are other ones?
I guess once people realized that one worked, everyone used it. I don't remember seeing any others being mentioned, so IDK if anyone noticed that others would work.

[Spoiler] Used my pet Calibrate. Made him my active pet, and gave him a Zombie Kitten minion. Then just went and battled Prodigy a bunch until I got the notification. It took 8 battles for me. [/Spoiler]

Am up to 20 losses and have switched my minion multiple times. I effing give up.

I think try not switching your minion and maybe just use the Zombie Kitten to be sure. Amber said she thinks it needs to be equipped for the 10th loss?

i dont know what triggered it to be honest i was just happy that all of a sudden the you found a hidden opponent showed up :):)
- i had - Forj Ore - Raven Feather Quill Pen - a Melting Kettle - Silly White Kitty Plushie an a Victoria Doll and Forj Bobblehead in my inventory first i tried to fight Forj Matriarch, the Dormant winning loosing nothing helped - was not able to get a tie -
almost got a pet from the pound because i tought all my pets where to strong .lucky for me that was not needed....boekenworm was the one i was fighting with when it all of the sudden popped up
