That could work... they can't pretend they aren't home!

Ha! Brilliant!

Okay, I think I did it?
Spreadsheet to calculate scaling opponent stats
Please feel free to do some testing and let me know if it's working properly?
As far as I know, STR/DEF/SPD scale at the same ratio that Health does.
Looks good! One caveat: speed doesn't scale anymore, it's static.
Sweet, I did not know that. I'll go change the sheet. :) Thanks!
Found the news post for it :D I didn't start battling seriously until after the change was implemented, but it's hard to imagine how much tougher battling would be if it still scaled, haha.
That was probably the single best change to the game since I’ve been playing.
It was either that or when they finally changed the way crit hits worked from ignoring defense all together to doubling the damage.

It is a LOT of clicking...I wish I could make it more exciting
Wow, I did not know about critical hits working differently before. Sounds like it was an excellent change.
I hide under my rock and don’t come out much any more (;
Can’t promise I’m the same person everyone remembers :p
Bopping in to confirm what said - technically, my loot wasn't affected. Even though I got the win, the site didn't record it anywhere as a valid win (or loss or draw - it was basically voided effort) aside from the statistics page. The loot I received was consistent with the required number of wins that were actually recorded on site (so at the end battle page, when it said 75 wins, I received the appropriate loot for that, even if my stats page said 77 wins).
And there's the correction link now so when that happens to me, I immediately fix my wins so I don't have that disconnect in what is recorded.
Oh wow, I somehow never realized that speed was static either. lol
Well that is pretty nice actually. Doesn't speed factor into your chances of doing crit hits vs your opponent's chances of doing them to you?
Your HA looks amazing :o
Thank you for chiming in :D
Yep! Although we don't know the exact mechanism, it's postulated that it's a scaling of some sort. The closer you are to your opponent's speed, the less of a chance you'll get crit hit, etc. And I think once you've surpassed their speed, they can't crit you at all anymore.
In all seriousness, change doesn't have to be a bad thing. I'd like to think I've changed for the better over the past 18 months or so. It may not be as obvious here, but it has made a huge impact on me IRL. So please pop in whenever you feel like it, I'm sure we'd be happy to get to know the new Kevin :D
Thank you! It's spooky time and I needed to dress appropriately xD
No problem! Hopefully that made sense haha.
It makes a lot more sense to me now, I know a lot of end stats are picked with a speed of a challenger they want to beat. I always wondered why that mattered if it was just going to scale anyways ha! It's hard to keep it all straight, even with all our knowledge articles etc it seems that some of it still just comes from other users!
Yeah, I thought it was something like that too! I just didn't realize that opponents' speed levels were fixed, but that actually makes more sense. Especially considering some of them have pretty high speed to begin with.
It makes a lot more sense to me now too :P
I'm glad you asked about these things, like you said it helps others learn about stuff too!
