Sound of roaring would probably make me cringe, since I can't stand loud noises. I would imagine anything that roars as loud as a Mortiking would probably stop someone in their tracks.

But yes, I'd like to see maybe a bit more obvious text thrown in.

Ugh, 7 losses and 1 tie later, I give up on Jacques. I've gotten him close a couple times, not to mention the tie, but that would just be for the FIRST win. This year just isn't the year it seems. Next year I'll be about a month out from T13, so my stats should be better. Shame.

I have 19 wins against Rita right now though. But it's getting harder, so I'm not sure I can get to 25. Perhaps if I borrow a weapon I can get that last bit up. I'll look around.

What do you need to borrow for Rita? I can lend you Maniacal Essence (need four Dark Eye of Royalty Crystals replaced though) for the dark and Malhuili or Dark Goddess Rod for light.

I also have a bunch of freezing scrolls (Strong Stomp, Shriek of Despair, Psycho Smasher, Cold Blast), Cobalt Eternals, Sancturia Exodins, and Gift of the Forj.

I may just have to boost for the last win but I’m not sure if I want to. I was waiting until I had more tomes saved up :c

I’m not sure what else to tell you, he didn’t give me a hard time at all doing what I did :( it’s hard for me to give advice if I can’t see what’s happening in the battle. Is he freezing you? Crit hitting you? Stealing your main attackers?

Let's see. The scrolls I'm bringing in include Psycho Smasher, Cold Blast x2, Shriek of Despair x2, Aftershocks, and a couple of Cobalt Eternal. Might be nice to grab the GotF. Perhaps another freezing scroll assuming I have space. (Eliminating my Cobalts leaves me with 31 AP to play with.)

Looking at weapons... So she does a butt-ton of light, dark, and physical. I'm bringing in my staples of Soma Tablets, Recycle Blaster, PQuill, Energized Helmet/Mecha. Filling the other 3 spots were my Trident, Paintbrush Blades, and Bear Head Bomb. PBB blocks a bit of light and dark, but no physical. Trident doesn't do much good at all, though I can sometimes hit her with some magma. (Bear Head Bomb was just when she was frozen.)

So what would you recommend? I can replace those crystals if the ME seems like a good bet. Likewise with the other weapons you mentioned.

After giving it some thought, I'm going to send over Maniacal Essence, Malhuili, Reviver of the Lion, Shriek of Despair, and two Gift of the Forj (just in case you don't like using the Shriek).

I don't think The Ether is a good choice because her Spirit of Azaaga will eat almost all of its attack and it won't defend at all in that case. Dark Goddess Rod is the superior light blocker, but Malhuili also blocks ice so that may be helpful.

My second pet easily stomped rita to 20 wins (he go the achievements before 20 since I had two pets battling her so I just stopped there) but got hammered by the captain so he’s pretty tough.

Wow, okay, it is practically comical how easy she is once I had the ME and Malhuili! While I used the freezing scrolls, I really didn't need them at all. She was like Crithobolean- a bit tanky and takes a lot of rounds, but my hp doesn't drop at all.

So thank you!!! I still not convinced that I have high enough stats to get Jacques to even 5, but I'll look at him later today now that this dumbo is out of the way.

I am pleasantly surprised that the new challenger is very hard. It's not too easy that everyone can just whip off five wins with each of their pets, but not too difficult that challenging it seems out of reach for more casual trainers.

If only we could make this happen for reals...
