I did get that. My bite is more centered around the fact that we aren't all good coders and that's where I'm afraid to end up in (copy/paste just to find out that your profile is basically dead). I understand why it needs to be done. And hey, I've been talking about the mythical recode for years and it's happening. I had given up in seeing it!

I can't begin to say how impressed I am with how you've handled this situation. You've been incredibly transparent and understanding/compassionate which is like, wild for a petsite.

I'm the same way about the user profiles! I managed to slap a background on my user profile, but anything more than that is beyond me :P

I'm honestly just relieved to see that Subeta is addressing this problem with the pet profiles. It has been so discouraging to visit my own pets and other pets' profiles just to see that they're broken one way or another. I felt like it wasn't fair to not just the people who commissioned pet profiles, but for the people who have created pet profiles too. I can only imagine how many messages they're receiving asking for help on coding (and I'm guilty of being one of those buyers who have done that, too).

Thank you for looking into this. Admittedly I felt a little skeptical when I initially read the announcement, but after reading some staff posts, I'm feeling more confident. Our pets deserve the best after all ❤

This sounds very promising and awesome! I was concerned at first (I can't code pretty much at all so I'm always wary of the risk of my profiles being screwed over by some update or another) but it sounds like you're taking care to not mess anything up. I'm excited to see what comes of this :) And I'm glad to hear this is taking priority - when I first heard more layout updates were planned, I was scared I'd have to spend the next few months fixing my profiles every other week XD Good to hear that it sounds like that won't be the case after all!

My pet profiles are all messed up. I'm not sure how long they've been that way since I really haven't been on subeta to just "sit down" and re-edit/make my pet profiles somewhat normal looking again. Really hoping this move/change will make it somewhat easier to edit and code. (:

P.S. Not gonna lie, I saw that loyalty pet slot totem and was like "Addressing the pet profile problems AND a free pet slot?? YES PLEASE." A girl can dream ok.

No seriously I really am grateful though. Love that there will be a grace period and that we can experiment with things before making the profile go live.

Oh damn, am I excited! I've made, about. One profile in the past and it's gotten super hecked up over time. And I never got around to learning to recode it.

So a chance to recode it in a system that won't ever be affected by layout changes is going to be super exciting! And to be able to design new profiles for the pets I'm currently just doing TC work on. (can we have an option to buy 100 tc slots at once? please? Max has 800 slots already and all of them are filled, plus 800 items in his wishlist, not including the stuff in my vault...)

My pet profile is so messed up, off center and I have no idea how to fix it. I paid a lot of sP to have someone do all the coding for me.

This is exciting news! Elfric and a few others profile's are all messed up and I haven't gotten around to fixing them, but I'll probably do so once the new 2.0 becomes available.

So in a way, it's going to be like how Neo's petpages aren't part of their main site, right? That's the basic gist I'm getting from this upcoming change.

I've never really done much with my pet profiles, but I'm curious to see what the new versions will be like and playing around with them myself a bit.

It will at least be nice to have them separated from the rest of the site so they won't be affected by layout changes anymore. I know it will still be a bit rough maybe for people to convert their existing layouts to the new system once it's available, but I do agree this is probably the best solution. At least once layouts have been converted the one time, they won't need constant fixing and updating after new site changes are made.

This sounds promising. I haven't started working on pet profile things, but seems like it has been a task in the past to keep the profiles the way they were designed when any layout changes happened. This will be helpful. :)

I haven't worked on any of my pet profiles, but not for lack of wanting to... Now I'm really excited to see how this turns out! Thanks for working so hard for us guys, looking forward to seeing what happens!

On one hand, everything is going to change, again, and I'm going to have to play catch-up. :c

But on the other hand... More opportunities to learn and mess with CSS, more freedom, more ease of use, and most importantly - a new, funkyfresh, superclean version of pet profiles that won't crap itself with future site layout changes!
