It's been happening forever and it's slowly been driving me crazy. I'll scroll down so that the button for "Enter the Bath" or whatever it might be is right in the middle of the screen by my mouse pointer, and then the screen will "jump" as though I have continued scrolling when I definitely have not! So I have to either scroll back or move my mouse over the button again and hope it stays still this time. It happens on both my laptop and my desktop; I use Chrome as my browser. It's almost like there is an image or something that screws up the vertical spacing of the page that takes forever to load and when it finally does, it shifts the whole page around it. I dunno. HALP.
The images can make the screen jump. It's just Subeta loading really, really slowly.

Do you have your avatar image showing in your sidebar? I've noticed that image can take a second to load and may be the culprit.

I'll try getting rid of it and see if that helps. Usually my bar is always on the one that has notifications, though, since I always have things selling in my shops.
EDIT - It's not the avatar/full-body image in the sidebar. IT does take forever to load, but it only affects the vertical spacing of the sidebar, not the body of the page. Whatever causes the "jumping" is from sapi.subeta.net (?)
do you have the SB running? Many many users have reported that chat in the SB causes a VERY arghhh-annoying page twitch/jump for months now ;A; it has caused me to misclick on things SO. MANY. TIMES. Like putting items in the wrong pet treasure and so on!!
I don't have the SB so it's not that.
If it's from sapi then it's probably avatar-related? Hm we'll keep trying to pin this down :/

Do you use an adblocker?
well on my end i just made a few tests, and i can confirm the one "jump" i am talking about is 100% SB
here's what i tested: i click on an item from your inventory this brings the page with like feed to ........ and then put into ....... treasure so that's a huuuuuuuuge long page down even tho the SAPI thing is true (the HA takes a year to load) -- it did not make the page jump, however! i scrolled down a bit (trying to mimic that i'd add the item to one of my pet's TC) and waited that someone in the SB would post and it did it... it jumped, every. single. time. :O
That's a separate issue. The one the OP here mentions occurs even without the SB widget.

Oooh I see! sings How many jumps does it take la la laaaa lol thanks for getting back to me and for being a coding savior hehe :) GL!
So after testing, it seems like perhaps even if the sidebar is on the "notifications" side (mine is set to switch between the two) the chat box can cause screen jumping if it is enabled but "hidden" ie. currently displaying the notifications. I think. It's hard to reproduce since it doesn't happen 100% of the time. It's not the HA for sure (it only causes vertical spacing issues within the sidebar, not the page body) and I use an ad-blocker but Subeta is white-listed so I am unsure if that would do anything...
This is confirmed to happen WITHOUT the shoutbox widget, which means it is not the same as when the shoutbox causes things to jump.
Have we confirmed that this happens WITHOUT the avatar widget? you said it happens on the notifications side too. Maybe we're looking in the wrong place, and it's actually not the sidebar that is causing this at all. Maybe something in the header?

Oh sorry Bug, i thought i checked all the topics first before making the new one. I mustve missed this one (it was late).
Windows 10/latest chrome.
I've been having this issue for months now. I tried loading some (a lot) of pages without the avatar widget and only experienced a jump once, but that may have been a fluke, because I couldn't recreate it. However, I put the avatar widget back and haven't had any more jumps. Why is it that things never happen when you need them to? :c
99% of the time I am on the "notifications" side of the sidebar. I experience screen jumping while the notifications are up, regardless of whether the avatar is hidden or present, or the chat box. I can't seem to figure out what is causing it. T.T I am sorry I can't reliably reproduce it for you.
I wanted to jump in and say that this improved greatly for me once I removed my HA from the sidebar. I've only tested it in Google Chrome though.
From the evidence so far, it seems like this actually does not have to do with the sidebar. If anyone is able to find a way to make the page jump like this intentionally (like find a way to trigger this bug) please share, that would be incredibly helpful to pinning this down.

/[spoiler]
if i keep the SB closed, there's no page jumping happening.
I'm using Opera and Windows 7, and i haven't tested this on a different browser/machine. So it might have something to do with this.
I really have to update my blog ObscureJourney and my review site BeingObscure. French speakers can read my reviews here.
Please read my posts on this thread. The SB does cause the page to jump, but that is a separate issue from what's being reported here.
