Do you have your avatar image showing in your sidebar? I've noticed that image can take a second to load and may be the culprit.

This is confirmed to happen WITHOUT the shoutbox widget, which means it is not the same as when the shoutbox causes things to jump.

Have we confirmed that this happens WITHOUT the avatar widget? you said it happens on the notifications side too. Maybe we're looking in the wrong place, and it's actually not the sidebar that is causing this at all. Maybe something in the header?

From the evidence so far, it seems like this actually does not have to do with the sidebar. If anyone is able to find a way to make the page jump like this intentionally (like find a way to trigger this bug) please share, that would be incredibly helpful to pinning this down.

Please read my posts on this thread. The SB does cause the page to jump, but that is a separate issue from what's being reported here.

Tbh that still seems like the most likely culprit, so I'll ask for a clarification from (who said they still had the jump without it)

I'll try getting rid of it and see if that helps. Usually my bar is always on the one that has notifications, though, since I always have things selling in my shops.

EDIT - It's not the avatar/full-body image in the sidebar. IT does take forever to load, but it only affects the vertical spacing of the sidebar, not the body of the page. Whatever causes the "jumping" is from sapi.subeta.net (?)

The only thing that loads from sapi.subeta.net is the avatar image, so that may be causing it. You said you'd try getting rid of it, have you done that and still noticed a jump even WITHOUT the avatar widget being in your sidebar?

It may still be causing the issue if you're on the notifications side, even if you think it doesn't look that way, it could be doing something weird. So I only want to rule it out if we can confirm the problem still happens without it (meaning there is no HA on your sidebar at all and it still happens)

Hey everyone, I think this is actually due to the HA sidebar widget and I have an idea for a solution. Before I put it on the site I'd love if you guys could help me test this out and see if it works.

Add this to your custom css: .sidebar-widget.x-js-wardrobe .sidebar-widget-contents{height:254px;}

I'm hoping that this will help fix the issue, it basically fixes the height so that it stays the same height regardless of whether the HA is loaded yet.

Fix is live, I hope it works!!

(For the curious, it's the CSS fix to the sidebar HA widget, that I posted above.)

Hey everyone! Following up again, have you guys noticed this still happening recently? I pushed a fix two days ago and would love to know if you've noticed it working!

No, because a forum topic doesn't have a fixed height, so there's no way to know how big that static box should be. The best way to avoid this problem on the forums is to wait for the page to load fully before scrolling down - if you wait, then it should always jump to the correct post for you.

Locking as it seems the original poster's problem has been fixed!

We are aware there's still a couple other things around the site that could result in a page jump, mainly the shoutbox widget, but these will not be fixed at this time.
