Thanks for the update again!
Raise your hand if you check the page every time you give something haha xD
There's just one last thing I wanted to say. I understand there's been issues in the past with these things. But right now, I promise you, we're doing our best to diagnose and address these issues when they come up, and we're making an effort to be better than we have in the past about dealing with these things promptly and providing communication when they happen.
We tried to keep the status page updated today, and will continue making an effort to keep that updated. However we might not be able to provide extensive or frequent updates while we are addressing these issues. That doesn't mean we're not working on it, it probably actually means that we are too busy working on it to look at the forums and stuff.
I understand the frustration and needing to vent. But please understand that we're also human, and it can actually make it harder for us to focus on work if you're directing anger at us. (I think many people can understand this, imagine doing your job while someone is yelling at you, it makes the job much harder.) On the other hand, small messages of encouragement, appreciation and support can go a long way, as when we read those it motivates us to work harder for you :)
We're not a big website like facebook or tumblr or, well, even neopets lol. We don't have a big company behind us, we don't have multiple dev teams, we don't have stacks of money - we mostly just have a small handful of people who are here only cuz we genuinely care.

Yesterday really sucked in terms of site stability, but it seems you all figured out the issue(s) and things are finally running smoothly again. Yay! :D Maybe one day we'll have a site event that doesn't suck the site into a black hole.
thanks for all the hard work guys :D
I have a habit even when the site is down i keep refreshing like a mad woman hahah

Yes, it looks like the fix was effective. :D If you're curious what the issue was yesterday, I posted an explanation earlier on this topic.

Yay, thank you for fixing it. And I'm sorry for sounding annoyed. I mean, I was annoyed, but it was aimed at just not being able to do anything, not at staff, I understand the second you realise something's wrong, you start working as hard as you can on it. I should've maybe been more clear about that.
I hope this is the last of the problems for Lumi and we can all enjoy a lovely holiday together.
Thanks for all your hard work Bug ... I haven't even looked back at that other -pet- site you mentioned since I found Subeta a few days ago....even with the lag issues you all have to troubleshoot and fix, this site is still much, much, much and did I mention MUCH better than the other.

Glad you got it fixed! Last night was impossible. Couldn't quest, restock, couldn't autoprice my shops.

, you and the team are amazing! Thank you for all the work you guys do. I love this site and am so glad it's not a big company running it because it makes it way more personal. Happy Luminaire
Bug and Team, Thank you all for the hard work you do to keep this site running and I really appreciate you all very much. Happy Holidays!

Do you guys remember when the site went down for a whole weekend? I do Thank you staff for dealing with this and for keeping us updated!
- Thanks a bunch of the update (and the work).
And to those that are criticizing people who are complaining, I would just like to say that I don't think we are 'demanding' anything. Many of us pay real currency to play here and have supported the site for many, many years. I don't think there is anything wrong with asking what the heck is going on this time, and requesting that someone look at it.
There's a difference between asking what's going on or asking that certain issues be looked into, and the people who just post things like "Fix this now!" that is unhelpful.
Also just because someone pays for a service, that doesn't give them the right to mistreat the people providing that service. This goes for everyone, not trying to single anyone out.
- I didn't actually see many posts that said 'fix this now'. And I don't recall indicating I thought it was appropriate to mistreat staff under any condition. I feel like anytime someone complains at all about the fact that it's been ten years and the site still is not stable during any kind of event, then a bunch of people come and yell about how you are being abusive, and impatient, etc.
More people tend to be online during events, which means more page loads and more work for the servers in general. It has improved quite a bit, this year especially I've noticed fewer problems.
Yes it can be frustrating that it's been so long and we still have some of the same issues, but as it was mentioned above the Subeta staff is a small team compared to other big sites. It makes it more difficult when things like this happen, but it's just kind of something we have to accept. It's not wrong to be upset when the site goes down, but complaining about the same things every time doesn't really help.
IDK I'm not trying to get in a fight, just offering another perspective. They work as fast as they can, if they had more people it would be faster, but they don't so that's all.
- I'm not looking for a fight either. I do appreciate that the staff is small, has a life and works very hard. Please note that the first thing in my post was a thank you to . I think it's normal for most of us to get frustrated from time to time, and to vent occasionally. I usually just keep my mouth shut and wait till it's fixed. I guess my frustration level is very high right now (not just with the site, but life in general). I apologize if it sounds like I was being critical of staff or you.
Joking aside, thank you for fixing it! I tend to forget how addicted I am to Subeta until the site goes down and I don't know what to do suddenly. ❤
That effort hasn't gone unnoticed.
I don't give praise that isn't deserved and I've been really happy with how on the ball staff has been. Not only with taking care of downtime, but with the Thursday update runs (something that users have been wanting for ages!) starting and continuing steadily, active participation in bugfixing and plenty of explanation involving various things.
Yes, it gets to a point where I can only sigh and wait it out when Subeta decides to get sloshed (Subeta pls, we've talked about this), but the site as a whole feels better and smoother than it was last year, or even 2-3 years before that.
Thank you for fixing this and I hope this is all the fixing the programmers need to do for the rest of the year.
The site is running so much smoother today :). Thanks for the fix!
