They had $1 margaritas during October - they weren't exactly great but they definitely had tequila in them. These new dollar drinks are suppose to have five different liquors in them so fingers crossed - I'll let you know how it goes ;) I hope you have a great week :D

I would like to change the food system in the US. I am in school to be a registered dietitian and I believe that now there has never been more confusion on food and nutrition. Many products on our super market shelves are loaded down with sugar, fat, or salt. We have moved away from cooking dinner in the kitchen and using fast food as a means to an end. On the other hand, some people obsess over food and "eating clean" and in many RDs opinions this is a type of disordered eating pattern. There is just so much confusion and misinformation out there!

I JUST recently bought "A River in Darkness: One Man's Escape from North Korea" and have it on my Kindle reader to read as soon as I finish re-reading "American Gods." As soon as I saw the subject of the book I had to have it. I'm fascinated that there is a place so secretive and the rest of the world is content to look past its existence and the few stories coming out of it. It's very sad. I want to understand it and the people better, challenging though it may be.

In general I try to avoid political conversations on here like the plague but here's my answer to the prompt - I hope I kept it respectful (I'll be honest I had to go back and edit and reword it a lot to try to keep it as ummm... neutral as possible... I could only do so much)

my wish for the world I wish that someone would create a magic pill that would inhibit greed and drop it into all the world's water supplies. Perhaps if we could take the edge off of the insatiable greed that seems to have gripped the hearts and minds of the most powerful and influential among us then we could start making progress for everyone and everything else. We could fund healthcare, schools, infrastructure and the social safety net instead of just funding the super rich. With unwavering greed dampened perhaps we could stop focusing on the profits of the fossil fuel companies and start making considerable movement toward saving the planet before it's too late. If we could limit greed maybe people would be able to see that just because they see the world in one way that doesn't mean that's how the whole world needs to be (I'm looking at you homophobs, just to name one). If we put a damper on greed maybe we could lessen the inclination to put me and mine solely above everything and start to understand that when we actively move to take care of everyone, not only do we improve other people's lives we also makes me and mine safer, healthier and happier too.

Maybe if even a little bit of greed was done away with we could start making room for a little bit more compassion in the world - that's what I wish for.

dang, those have got to be the oldest 40 year olds ever, dance music is universal, there was not enough alcohol D:

they had chocolate but not enough alcohol? what is this place? xD I mean you know it's a fail when you have to go to chick-fil-a

thanks! I'm slowly getting over being sick and it's like the coldest it's been in years here and I have to go outside today ugh no ;__;

I think the book will shed some light on what you want to read. He goes into some detail, not a whole lot, but it's enough to paint a picture. I still can't believe people go on vacation there and therefore support the government. What a perverse sense of humor. But I guess that's more political can of worms and I'm probably ranting too much on a public board so hit my comments or mail up if you wanna further discuss / let me know what you thought of the book!

In Photoshop I use as many layers as my computer can tolerate. I'll draw my linework on the topmost layer and lock it, then I'll add colors from the background forward. I'll put down a solid base of the mid range colors, then layer the darker and lighter tones at no more than 30% opacity until I get the look I want. Then I'll go in with solid colors to add highlights and firm up any details. In colored pencils I'll start with the large shadows and color them in blue for cool scenes, or brown for warm scenes. I use real short light strokes and build the colors up slowly. I like to use opposites from the color wheel (like dark green over reds) to add depth and detailed shading.

I read through everyone's posts and couldn't agree more with all of your concerns on healthcare, education, the environment, racism, discrimination, etc. If only there were more people who cared about issues like these, and more importantly, those in positions of power who are capable of making the changes necessary to see results. Unfortunately, the greedy and corrupt governments don't give a crap about our human welfare, animal rights, the environment, etc. Seeing all these horrible tragedies taking place all over the world on a daily basis often makes me feel hopeless, like things in this world are just going to get worse and worse. It's really terrifying.

There are so many things I'd wish to see changed in this world, but to speak on one that hasn't specifically been brought up, I'd wish for people to treat and take better care of animals and their pets, in every way. Not only in the "meat industry" which is one seriously disturbing topic all on its own, but also just in terms of pet welfare and safety. I think that more people need to become aware of the importance of spaying and neutering their pets. I understand that vet bills are expensive, but it really upsets me when I see cat owners whose female cat is pregnant for the 4th time, and the kittens probably end up going on to repeat the vicious cycle (if they even survive). I've heard and seen stories like this tons of times and it breaks my heart. So, I wish more people would realize that this is a form of neglect and abuse on their pet and find a way to spay/neuter to give your pet the best quality of life that they deserve.

ohhh my gosh guys ;; y'all are so sweet and pure and adorable. i love the answers to this a lot?? also i have a ton of pings rn, so if i miss something important pls point it out to me!! i'm gonna try to read this all tomorrow but some family stuff came up last night and is kind of ongoing so i'm mostly dealing with that rn.

ohhh wow, that's... unfortunate ;; lmao i love that though?? if i had the guts to, i'd vandalize so much stuff. but i'm a chicken/"good child" of the family so like. i can't bring myself to actually do it. that's really interesting though, that's not the type of thing i'd have associated with maine! the big libraries part sounds awesome though o: ahaha that's me, even if i walk into a particularly well air conditioned building in the middle of the summer. i'm also naturally underweight for some reason (probably anemic, based on an unconfirmed suspicion of my doctor, and also i'm just medically... confusing so who knows) so i'm really just not good at staying warm unless it's by wearing 3 metric tons of clothing. ohhh wow -14 how about no. i would have to own a lottt of turtlenecks to live there, but it does sound super pretty. i really love the concept of snow x3 if dragons existed it would either be the temeraire books (in which dragons are kind of like horses and utilized for war, etc) or The End of Everything™

alaskan rolls sound good! i really like salmon too, it's so much better than tuna imo (which is fun bc ryan likes tuna better, so we always have to get both x3) i'll have to try those sometime. ohhh that's so nice! sakura rolls sound really good too. i think salmon and crabmeat are probably the best fillings imo. i've never had mayonnaise on a roll though, that's interesting! next time i get sushi i'll have to look through their menu a little more thoroughly, i'm curious if they have anything similar!

physics concepts are the coolest! the universe is so weird and its little minute weirdnesses become so apparent when studied. the effects of things on electrons, and the uncertainty principle type things are so neat to me. castle did kind of get weird after the first few cx but i liked the drama and silliness in it. bones is really good! it's also not super scientifically accurate (lbr, none of these shows are) but it does show more lab-type things than most. i've also watched a tonnn of ncis, i'm not even sure how many seasons that has now? i've seen pretty much all of the first ~10, and scattered episodes after that. it's super strange now that a lot of the main characters have been replaced with new ones!

ohhh, i'm silly, i don't know why that didn't occur to me! i'm glad you've found a way around it at least partially ❤️ that's also really interesting about the underground garbage cans! that does sound like a nice way to save space aboveground, and if coordinated well, could be a really good thing!

aw, that's adorable!! i call my lily loulou a lot too, and lily-lou cx she also gets called kiki because i've apparently shortened 'kitty kitty' into that, aha. it's so funny the amount of nicknames some of our animals get, i barely ever actually call lily by her real name anymore!

ahh, yeah, i think that's true to an extent of just about everywhere - if you live somewhere for long enough, it becomes normal. people rave about dallas and i don't get it at all x3 i do really like looking at architecture! that's one of the reasons i'd like to see europe, at least. i'm not one for the actual building and designing of architecture, but i definitely have an appreciation for it. my romanian friends constantly amuse me because they've been in texas for so long that they're now very bad at romanian cx my bf, who's better friends with them than me tbh, learned a couple sentences in it last summer and attempted to talk to them, and only one of them knew what he was saying x3 (though i'm 100% the same way with my french - once my mom stopped using it actively, i got much less fluent very quickly) it turns purple because of light pollution x3 it's pretty, but i kind of wish it could actually get dark.

aha, i actually like the gts! i think it's fun to see what people put up there. bats are super cut!! but i just think the design for that particular bat is weird looking, mostly its face. it looks like it's plotting something x3 yeah, it's fairly similar to the last games until you get into the mid-late game; then it gets pretty different. stargazing is really peaceful o i like it sometimes, but tbh i don't always have the patience/attention span for it.

i'm glad you like them!! i got really excited when i saw that was your post bc they're mint-ish. you look cute!! ❤️ ahh i do that too, but kind of unintentionally? i just usually get nauseous if i eat within ~3 hrs of waking up so i drink stuff that tastes good instead cx i put sweetener in the more bitter teas usually but not in a lot of them! definitely not in the blueberry/vanilla ones, about half the time with green tea (depending upon which one it is specifically), and most of the time with black tea bc it's kind of bitter by itself. uhh not rly, like i have one but i haven't updated it since junior year of high school, so. yeah x3

ohh wow, the parents thing too! it's so hard for a lot of kids to do well because they just don't have any support :c schools are set up so complexly that it's really difficult to change things nowadays and i hate it, i just want them to overhaul the system. they won't, because it'd be terrible for the dumb people in office currently, but it would make a much better world in the long run. i also agree with what you've said, i would love to live in a world where people understood how to do that. if people would just shut up and listen to what others had to say, i feel like we'd have a much more educated world, and even though some people would stick to their strange beliefs that can be proven incorrect (like the whole 'climate change isn't real' thing), i think that would probably be a far smaller portion of the population. plus, if we could actually build stuff like proper science education into schools, it'd be even smaller.

maybe so! there's got to be a biological reason for it since it occurs on such a wide scale, like pretty much without fail, the girls i know are usually cold and the guys are almost always warm. there are outliers, but it's not just coincidence at this point. i love google a lot because i can ask it all my weird/dumb questions about things i really should know by now as an Adult Person but don't, but i never seem to utilize it for stuff like this, i just kind of think of a possible answer and shrug x3 cinnamon and honey tea sounds good!! i've never seen that around here, maybe i'll have to look for it o: i'm always after new flavors of tea, aha. it's usually pretty warm where i'm at too, but i wear my sweaters anyway because people air condition everything here x3

it really is! that's actually the express reason that i wanted to ask it - i think it's really important to know what people think about this type of thing! i actually really love that you wrote up everything you have because it highlights that issue so well, and you're absolutely right: the healthcare system we have right now is wholly inadequate and it needs to be fixed as soon as possible. it should be a right, and i hate that the government treats it like it's not - they're playing god, and that shouldn't a thing that they're allowed to do. i'm really hoping for some positive change there, and that situations like yours get addressed in a much more just manner, because that's absolutely insane and it shouldn't be a thing that can happen. it absolutely makes sense to be passionate about it - it's a big thing, and i'm mad about it too.

it's super weird, isn't it? i don't understand how a government can want to undermine their own education system, like you're literally putting yourself behind?? ahh, you're right about the recycling thing too, that also really drives me up a wall. education and the environment are basically the biggest things that i'm most actively annoyed about and i'd love for both of them to improve... but the government. that's really true about how buying plastic bottles supports that economic model as well, and i wish we had more eco-friendly options readily available ;c

congrats on the new name!! ahaha, that's true! he is definitely one of those goofy teenage chickens cx tbh i'm not totally sure anymore, this thread moves really quickly and i've been trying to read everything, so it's all a bit jumbled at this point! not helping that it's around 3 in the morning where i'm at x3 i also agree with you on the cultural respect idea! i was really torn up over that incident as well, it's a terrible thing, and absolutely unnecessary. i don't particularly subscribe to any major organized religion, but i'm perfectly fine with the existence of them and i don't see why people have to make such a fuss. i figure you can try to educate people on what you believe, but that doesn't mean they have to agree with you, and that doesn't make them any less than you. i don't know why that's so hard for people to grasp. just let people live.

that might be interesting! i don't know how well a texas-specific one would work because texas is a huge area, but maybe one for the general south central US? i know that's a bigger area, but there are some people in oklahoma or louisiana that would be closer to you or me than a lot of people still in texas! ohh that's cool! i've found a handful of gen 3 things now since i've been playing it a bit more because they've come out. it's also neat to me because gen 3 is one of those that i don't know as well, i didn't get to play those games!

that's really true! (and i'm glad you like the topic!!) more thorough home education definitely leads to a better, more respectful community and improves life in general. i've seen this a lot throughout my own life - i've been fortunate enough to have wonderful, intelligent parents who've been present in my life and supported me, but so many of my friends have had to gain so much of their life skills type education the hard way, and i've known many others who simply lack skills because no one's ever bothered to teach them or demonstrate.

aww, that's adorable ;; battery farms break my heart too, i try not to think about that stuff much because i like my little cute chickens too much and i'll want to adopt all of them and i just can't x3 whenever my current feathery ones pass, i'll probably look into that too. currently, aside from the poofy marshmallow (whose actual name is jutta), we've got some other weird mixed breed birdies! they were adopted in a rather odd manner - in high school, my ap biology teacher did the embryology and genetics unit by having us incubate and raise chickens in the classroom for around 2 months, and then we got to adopt our own bird if we could. usually the people who could take their birds wanted more than one, so i got to adopt some of my friends' birds! and they're all really mixed, because the teacher has about 40 chickens of many breeds, so it's anyone's guess as to what they actually are. we have one who i'm pretty sure is a silver laced wyandotte mixed with one of the more grey-colored roosters - her name is batman/batsy, she's huge, and she is my bf's bird from the class experiment! then we have our super tiny goldish-yellow chicken, bitsy, and she looks a lot like an orpington hen? but i'm not sure at all, she's so little and from what i hear, orpingtons are... not usually small. and tbh i have zero idea what our rooster, pineapple, is - or more like what he isn't, because he looks like he's just mixed with all the things. he's primarily black and he's got gold polka dots and iridescent feathers and a "hat" (bunch of feathers on the head surrounding the comb) and five toes and a really huge thick comb that leans down and almost covers one of his eyes. he's a crazy chicken x3

ahh, those are fun x3 i had to do them last week, it's that time of year x3 i hope you do well!! ❤️ aha, oh gosh, i don't think she's heard of glitter bombs because if she had, i think everyone would know cx i kind of want to tell her now, but i'm afraid she'd send me like 7 of them upon finding out. otters are super cute, but definitely harder to keep as pets than kitties! do you have any kitties rn?

that's true! it would definitely be prettier n_n i'm all for aesthetic improvement, and if it can be done without another aspect (i.e. water pipes/electrical wiring) getting in the way, i'd be all for it! it just seems like there's always people messing with things underground in the city i'm from, so i feel like there might be things that could get in the way in some areas. it's definitely a cool idea though, and if planned well, could be a really nice way to make an area prettier/cleaner!

you're totally good, don't worry!! you don't even necessarily have to be neutral-ish really, i just ask that no one get out of hand about the opinions/ideas others state. and i agree with you on what you've said, i would absolutely love to live in a world with less greed - it seems like that's what's dominating our political landscape lately and it's really disappointing. i really love the idea of a well-educated world, and a sustainably fueled one if possible (though i think the former would lead to the latter)! i also really don't get how people can look at the world in black and white; there's so many more colors than that?? we've got to look at the blues and reds and purples of every issue before we can really understand it, and some people have been taught to ignore those. that doesn't make much sense to me.

everyone has awesome responses so far, and i totally agree with all of them! (let's just take over the world eh? we'll have all this shit sorted out in no time, surely! :P )

my main wish, like other people have mentioned, would be to take care of this fragile planet we so tentatively exist on. mostly by undoing the damage we have wrought on the climate and the atmosphere, which then effects every living creature and organism that calls Earth home. we could be using less dirty energy, and focusing on clean energy from the wind, sun, and water etc, which we are surrounded by everyday and could be harnessing with far less consequences that what we have been creating with the power that now sustains us. sometimes i wonder what the world would have been like if there wasn't so much greed surrounding the discovery of oil, and more innovation surrounding steam power and other energy sources. what would the world now be like? cleaner? what kind of different technology would we have? would we be healthier and happier for it? would we be as advanced technologically as we are now?

also, i think it'd be awesome if all the weapons worldwide just disappeared. guns, bombs, all the things that we hurt each other with, and threaten each other with, and hold power over each other with. just put everyone on equal footing and maybe then we could use our intelligence to work through situations instead of just shooting first and asking questions later. (fyi i live in Australia where there isn't a huge debate about gun laws, so this is in no way a commentary about the laws in the US but more a wish for the whole world so i hope it isn't misconstrued ^^ )

I honestly don't know the details about it, but I've seen a lot of postings about the Voldemort movie. It's supposedly coming out in January 2018! It's not coming out in theaters, so I'm not sure where it will be released. I know! I want to go so bad ): It will be a Christmas present to myself one year for sure! Yeah sugar has a pretty bad rep right now. I like to focus more on people not drinking their sugar! Sugar sweetened beverages are the number one issue with weight gain, in my opinion.

If I could change something about the world...

Picking just one thing is pretty hard don't you think? I mean there's so much about the world (the whole world not just the USA) that needs sprucing up.

Religion, for one. I know that's a pretty unpopular answer so I'm not going to elaborate on it.

Also, I'd like to make the world bigger, room seems to be a pretty big issue across the globe.

And, I just wish we could all love each other. I mean, you don't literally have to love everyone but let's just stop shooting and bombing people because we're mad, let's start with that okay?

What I really would like is for every sing person, every last one, wherever they are, whoever they are; to be warm at night, with a full belly, and not scared for their lives for any reason. Also, every person deserves some kind of love. The absence of love is what breeds hate.

♥️
