- I guess that's the difference. I have been spending New Year's Eve with a group of close friends for several years now, so it winds up feeling special. Before that I used to happily stay at home and just watch the tv countdown. :-) In fact, I need to get my quests done, get off the computer and get some sleep before today's party later.

that may as well be! The last three years I've sent it at my in-laws, but now they're away, so it'll only be husband, SIL and I. We might go out to the main square in the city for the countdown with a friend and her family, though.

Our town's 9 o'clock fireworks are going off...we decided to stay home, because it's been a wet day and it's been drizzling on and off all day...so the ground would be set, and not nice to sit on, and our friends ended up not inviting people over...so it's a quite night in for us.

Lucky for us, our dog isn't bothered by fireworks...she's just chilling on the couch

Yeah, we were surprised when she wasn't bothered by them her first real New Years Eve...it is nice. We went outside to see if we could see anything (we couldn't) and could hear various dogs barking...why their owners just didn't keep them inside, I don't know. I'm sure our town's community facebook page, and the missing dog page will have posts tomorrow about dogs that got scared and ran away...it's rather sad

Getting the last 3 ametsuchi is going to be a pain, I kinda regret selling off a about a year ago

But they did pay like 450mil and replacing that ametsuchi probably won't cost more than 300mil

I used to fly model rockets and I knew some dogs that weren't bothered by them. One rocketeer actually trained their Sheltie to get all excited when they would count down from 5 to 0. :-)

Yes, it is really nice to have a dog that isn't disturbed by things.

Indeed, our past two dogs always freaked out...and our neighbours have to lock up one of their dogs. The only thing Callaway doesn't like is the vacuum

We always keep our dogs inside the laundry room during Christmas and New Years , to have them a little further away from the fireworks sounds.
